person did not get the virus from here. they have traveled. >> we have a person who traveled to an effected area who tested positive. >> reporter: this tiny bug is causing a big problem. health officials cannot tell us who or where the patient is but north carolina now has a case of zika. >> reporter: did i expect that. >> yes, we have a lot of people that travel in our state. that's why we want to get the message out, when you travel to kearns effected by zika you need to protect yourself from bug bites. >> reporter: the cdc said one in five people who catch the disease will see symptoms.

>> the disease is not so bad, it's more of a concern that it may be associated with birth defects. >> reporter: researchers said the type of mosquito that carries the disease can be found in every county in north carolina but they to not expect there to be an outbreak. >> reporter: currently there is no vaccine for zika but the cdc said it's a priority. >> have the mosquitoes been tracked in north carolina. >> reporter: yes and no, the funding was cut in 2000 and 2014.

pick your congress member. three federal judges required the legislature to redraw the districts after they found that race was a reason for how the districts were drawn. there are also changes made to the congressional primary date. the march 15th primary which includes the presidential race goes on as planned but lawmakers voted to hold a sebd primary for the congressional races on june seventh. there also would not be a primary runoff. the legislators are hoping that a federal court will overalternate the decision.

the federal judges have to say about the map. raccoons why a north carolina town have come down with a disease that causes them to seem drunk, wobbly and friendly. in the past few weeks crews have located five different raccoons that have cases of distemper. we have a meth lab bust at a home on church rode in benson. also a family of nine is now homeless after a fire in selma, it happened around 4:30. crews said that the fire appears to be accidental.

72 year old grandmother who was hit wheul watching tv in her home. dorothy holloway was shot from a drive by. by. she is doing well. the owner of the vortex pled guilty to assault today. this is video from october 24th, the night of the accident. five people were hurt when the vortex started moving while passengers were trying to get off, it was later determined that a safety mechanism was disabled.

hello to the guys and gallons at shaw university. i want to go west to asheville. i want to show you that they are the same temperature as us. there is the biltmore house. there is the mountains. look just above that and you see a bit of white as the sunsets. they are farther west, the sunset is later. spring is a month away. our days get longer. the temperatures warm up. 40s for everyone tonight. we started the morning in the 20s. that's the last of the 20s that we see for a week, maybe longer.

and clear skies. we drop own to 46 at 8:00. then to the upper 30s by tomorrow morning. 10 degrees warmer than where we were this morning. high pressure continues to slowly nudge offshore and our winds nudge to the south. that's going to make a huge difference in our temperatures. winds control our temperatures in the winter time. we have a cold front that is making it's way through the midwest and unfortunately we have rain to talk about. i want to pickup the weather map tomorrow at six a. a few clouds but we are going to keep it dry.

sunday is a different story. we have changed the rawp chances just a bit. sunday morning, not that cold. sun and clouds throughout the day, notice the rain throughout the west. late in the day we have rain into our area. we took the vein chance from 20% to 30% today. here's the taste of spring. dry, saturday, into the 60s. a mild start. we get close to 70 sunday. tuesday looks to be the wettest day of the week. we have rain left over for wednesday and then dry thursday and friday.
