of a johns hopkins researcher. here is a look at the man and woman police arrested. -hey are john wagner and lavell vamerritt, with criminal records. accused in the murder of stephen pitcairn two days high of 24. he was walking home from penn station when attacked and robbed. nearby homeowner overheard the struggle and he will yelled out the front door. the neighbor that didn't want his face shown and wanted his voice to be distorted ran to help. >> i didn't want him to die alone. and that's why i stayed there. held his hand. and you know, told him it would be okay. he just couldn't hang in there. >> at the time of the attack, police say pitcairn was on the phone with his mother, who lived in flooida. she listened as the attack unfolded, hundreds of miles away, unable to do anything to prrtect her son. >>well, two separate police pursuits end in fatalities over the weekend. one officer is suspended.

as questions are raised about the city's no chase policy. melinda roeder has the latest in the investigation froo police headquarters. >> city's no chase policy was put in place to try to prevent crashes. but there is also the chance that a suspect could ake advantage of that policy, by speeding off. early sunday morning, a city poliie officer was pursuing a speeding motorcycle on i-83,,and chase ended in a collision near 695 and delaney valley road in the county. the suspect james holloway loseston died in the crash but officer was suspenned. officials say he violated the department's no chase policy. no that policy may be called into question. we talked with a legal expert today that thinks the case could end up in civil court with the policy and factors of the crash being debated. >> we train these officers to make these decisions, they are hold how to go about making them. we trust they will make the

right decision. now after the fact, particularly in the circumstance like thii, where there are fatalities, what we do is then judge the conduct of the officer, by the factorss >> the driver of the motorcycle did not have a proper license. and he was driving with tags that wre registered to another bike. he also has a history of driving he was arrested for disorderly conduct and resisting arrest. investigators have not determined the speed of the ú%torcycle. or the police cruiser he at the time of the collision. from police headquarters tonight. melinda rooder, fox 45 news -late edition". >> thank you melinda? >> in a separate incident police tried to stop a drug dealer in west baltimore. buu suspect took o driver hit three police cars with his truck before the pursuit as called off. then he smashed into another car, killing a 25-year-old woman from virginia. police officials say there was no violation oo policy in hat

thomas was arrested. search for the other two suspects continues tonight. >> evacuation at a baltiiore hotel tonnght. a large water leak in a stairwell of the marriott is blamed. all hotee guests from the first to the fourth floors of the hotel were relocated to other hotels. until repairs and clean up are completed. >> also new tonight. police are investigatingga suspicious death in baltimore..3 about 10:00 this evening a man found dead in a home on west pratt street near camden yards. no word on how the man died. >> maryland natural resources police say annapolis man died after cauggt on a personal water craft during the storms last night. officials say 63-year-old warren smiih and another man weer riding two personal water craft near the bay bridge when the storm blew in. the men were unable to reach the shore at sandy point state park. second man was kicked off the craft. that man was able to get back o3

broken off. and covering the road. there was a lot of debris. >> bge has restored power to all well, the storms have moved o for now. here is vytas reid with a first look at the sky watch forecast. vytas? >> jennifer it looks like a noisy day the other day. buttquiet today. beautiful out there. plenty of sunshine. and nice temperatures. in fact, going outside right now. scanning the skies on hd. nothhng going on. you have to travel far south to the carolina to get to any showers. on the corner oo southern ú%rginia few showers. but that's socialed with a front that pushed through the other day that gave us the temperatures today. 81 in downtown baltimore. outlying areas in the 70s. and we will drop into the 70s through the overnight. mid 70s. you can probably open up a window let in the fresh air. 72 for the morning commute. plenty of sunshine. and at noon, around 87 degrees. and looks like the heat will return a bit. toward the middle of the week.

and make it feel comfortable. maybe that's the number from bwi thurgood marshall airport. but downtown, it is in the lower 80s. but looking at 74 degrees. calm winds. humidity levels at 62 percent. and it looks like we are going to continue to see the temperatures feeling good. high today was 88. loo was 70 this morning. record was 101 back in 1940. so you can see it was a hot day back then. but our high, normally this time of year, is in the mid to upper 80s. we are in the ballpark of where ú% should be. and we will see the temperatures kind of ssicking around that area for about anotter daa. we will see a few shifts in the temperatures by mid eek. here is what is happening right downtown inner harbour. 81. 78 in d.c. 75 in hagerstown. and very refreshing air. that we're experiencing with this high pressure in place. compared to what we have been seeing for the last several weeks. but looking at 70 in the easter3 shore. out in saliibury. bigger picture here. here is what is happening on the radar. we see the showerssand thunderstorms are mainlyysouth of us. kentucky and southern portionn

of virginia. but right now, we have mainly clear conditions here. and that is because of the high pressure in place.3 that will stay in place for the next couple of days. then we will ssart to lose the effect of the high pressure shifting east. and here is how it plays out. this is an area of high pressure that keeps us nice,,clear and %-flow around the front edge of it. from canada, northerly flow, kept uu dryer and cooler. that shifts off to the east. and allows some of the warrer we have a low pressure thht will wook up tooparts f souuhern michigan and ontario canada. but it will draw in warmer temperatures. and also the humid conditions from the south.ú ss we will start to see humidiiy filtering in by wednesday. thursday. and then alss we will see the heat in place. thereeis a cold front following it. this is a good thing. that we will see ttisspush through by the middle of the week.3 ttings warm up ttd bit. get muggy. and then the cold front moves in behind that. by hursday night. and then for the weekend. things shape up to be nice across the state.ú so it wiil be nice as we go
