weather.3 >> hello, i am jennifer gilbert. jeff barnd is off tonight. people are cleaning up afterra double dose of dangerous weather. many of us were awakened by thunderstorms this morning. and many others running for cover when tornado warnings hit keith daniels is in carroll county where the strongest storms came through. >> well, we are reporting from the wind filled volunteer fire department in carroll county. nothing major to report as far as weather in this area. but over the county line, in frederick county, they saw some wicked weather. high winds blew through this small neighborhood. on unionville road at liberty road. a storm knocked down a tree near the homes. it hit the power lines. then there was what seemed like3 an explosion. the tree, and power lines, caught fire..3 >> when it blew up, i thought the fire was -- i thought it was a fireball coming into our home. luckily it stayed within the power lines. >> well after about an hour, or

two, power was restored to the neighborhood. and there are no injuries to report. we're in carroll county, keith daniels, fox 45 news "late edition". >> well, some baltimore morning commuters needed an arc to get work. rain from violent thunderstorms this morning dumped lots of rain on the road as commuters were trying to get to work. and in fell's poont, people had to fight the currents. >> we have to walk them through this. no other way to get them in there. >> goo to do what you have to do sometimes. >> no serious injuries were reported as a result of the morning rain. >> truly frightening situation in montgomery county this morning. an 80-foot tall tree smashed ú%to an apartment complex, in gaithersburg. one person trapped inside of the building made frantic calls for help. but had a lot of trouble getting it. >> all you could hear were kids screaming and crying. and everybody thought we were going to die. it was terrible.

parkville, middle river, and whitemarsh and essex, getting rain. down toward pasadena and glen burnie, and saverna park, arundel county, you are getting decent rainfall.ú put it in motion. you can see how it wraps in. still the moisture wrapping around an area of low pressure that moves south of us now. that low pressure is riding along a frontal boundary sitting in this region here. so that continues to track to the south of us. as we head through the next few hours. still have a bit of instability out there to fire off a shower or two across the egion. so what was helping that, was the heat today. our highs were in the mid to upper 80s. looking at the 800. and then 90s south of us. we have cooled off now suustantially into the 70s. so more comfortable air out there. as we continue to see the cool air in from the north. overnight. chance for showers and thunderstorms off-and-on. and tomorrow chances for showers. detailed look at the weekend forecast coming up. back to you. >> some developing stories tonight. a man is found dead in a

dumpster in a downtown high-rise. police are still trying to figure out if it was an accident or a homicide. workers found the body this morning. in one of the trash bins at the park charles building on north charles street. police say the body came down the trash chute. and went through the compactor. >> also, baltimore county police are investigating the cause of a fire at this home. that killed a woman, first responders found her inside of the front door of this home n gather side drive in woodlawn. name is not released. fire crews say it was a smaller fire, mostly contained to the house. >> new tonight. $10,000 reward is offered for information leading to an arrest for a hit-and-run that killed a highway worker in annapolis last month. it happened on eastbound route 50 at bay dale drive. shortly before 1 a.m. on thursday june 3. officers say sabra surveying traffic when hit. his body was thrown into another

lane and struck a second time. sabra was 52. reward. >> also new tonight. three more victims of the bodily fluid attacker have comm fooward. michael edwards was arrested and charged with spraying his own seemen on shoppers in a giant and michaels in gaithersburg. and edwards turned himself inú and is being held on $50,000 bond. >> in tonight's waste watch. traffic light installed near councilman's craft's home cost taxpayers $100,000. city confirms to fox 45 news that normal procedures for installing that traffic signal were not followed. the city usualll conducts a traffic study before installing signals. that didn't happen in this case. the reason? because of patterson park's unique pedestrian traffic pattern. >> normally when we have a request for a signal, we do

waffle fries and a drink for th3 next year. >> and baltimore's first sonic drive in will open tomorrow morning at 10:00, the fast-food joint on liberty road in randallstown. it features cherry lime aid and-foot long coni dogs. >> more donations are rolling in to keep city pools open. another $74,000 was collected in the last two days. but the city needs 177,000 to keep the 13 pools oppn until labor day weekend. >> in baltimore county, tudents transitioning into the next schools, now have to verify the residency. parents? and guarrians oo kids entering the 6th and 9th grades must do so before the school year begins on monday august 30. they must provide photo identification, a lease or deed and thrre pieces of mail, sent to the home address wiihin the llst 60 days.

>> same sex marriage still a hot button issue. one wwek avenue federal judge rules that a ban is unconstitutional. here in maryland, the candidates for governor are offering their views on the subject. governor o''alley is previously opposed same sex marriages saying that marriage shouud be a union between a man and a woman. his views have since changed. >> i believe that civil unions was a way that we could bring people together and forge that consensus. if the general assembly were to forge a consensuu beyond civil unions and present that to me yes, i would sign it. >> if the general assembly should pass a bill to legalize same sex marriage -- >> i oppose same sex marriage

hours. 73 degrees. few rain showers. winds out of the ast at nine. and our humidity levels are sitting at 94 percent. so there is a lot of moisture out there at this time. but temperatures are noticeably cooler. good news, as we see the cooler air mass replace the hot and humid one. high of 85 degrees. so in the ballpark of where we should be. low of 71 this morning. we saw precipitation continue to add to this. we're at 1.35 inches at bwi thurgood marshall airport. and inner harbour getting almost close to half an inch. with the continuinggshowers. so as we go through the next few hours, continue to add to the totals through the overnight, with the rain that is in play. look at the flash flood warnings. extending them for baltimore -ounty. we're looking at flash flood warning until 2 a.m. for baltimore county. and then also baltimore city. because of all the heavy rainfall we hhve seen. and already the ground saturated from the morning rain we saw. and then the additional showers %-continuing out there..3 in arundel county. flash flood warning until 2 a.m.

harwooo until 1:45. carroll county 12:30 a.m.. freddrick county 1:45 a.m.. and montgomery until 1:45. overnight for the next couple of hours, have to deal with some heavy rainfall coming down on saturated ground. so folks in low lying areas watch for that. 76 in d.c. 73 hagerstoww. cooler town compared to what we have been seeing. and cool air from the north. 60s up toward boston. looking at 72 in new york. 70 harrisburg. 77 in charleston. so lininggat the warmer air off to the midwest. for us we are looking at cooler conditions. we are seeing that this we saw this front push through. that helped to fire oft ú%mosphere. creating instability out there. tomorrow we still see a little of that. still in the neighborhood. and chance for maybe morning lingering showers into the afternoon. ú% you see, on the future scan. we start to clear some of that precipitation out of here. by saturday looks like a fabulous day. into sunday, more sunshine. relatively quiet weekend.

tonight continuing to see showers across the area. scattered showers, and temperatures in the 70s..3 and tomorrow, chance for showers cross the area. around 82 degrees. and morning showers. but taper off through the day. five-day forecast shows 85 for saturday. partly cloudy skies. 88 on sunday, with more sun and clouds. and then by monday, tuesday, upper 80ss but we will see about a 30 perrent chance for both days for early next week, with scattered isolated showers or thunderstorms. mmmm.
