sunday. lifeguards assisted with 470 strong rip currents. >> and now hurricane earl is chief mmteorologist vytas reid is here with new information on thh trackkof the big storm. vytas??3 >> we hhve to watch this one. this is a big storm out there in the atlantic. cattgory 4 right now. hurricane earl as the season has really picked up. winds at 132 miles per hour. and we have wind gusts at 161 miles per hour. and that pressure is dropping, 938 millibars, center of the circulation is getting strong. continue to see that circulatton form. you see a weel defined eye here, eye wall continues to thicken up and be strong as the storm continues o progress onto the west. we have to watch that track very closely. in fact, looking at the national as a category 4 storm. -hen a right turn. this is a projection of the model data. because a cold front will be moving in.ú -e have the high pressure over the mid-atlantic. that cood ront may push it off to the east.

71 degrees. we have mainly clear skies. winds are calm. so that creates some stagnant air. good. we will continue to see the temmeratures warm, for the next couple of days. until we see a frontal boundary push through. cold front from the northwest by thursday. until then, hot temperatures will stick around. looking at the state temperatures. 85 in baltimore. looking at 76 degrees hagerstown. cooler over on the western portion of the state. 72 degrees. 68, even over in salisbury. ú% cool conditions out there. but it will be overnight temperatures where we get the cool temperatures. because the daily temperatures %-reason being is that we have e high pressure in place. keepiig us nice and clear. hot air building up out of the south. keeping us clear, west and north of us. kentucky, michigan, spottysee, showers in detroit. that'ssit. until the high pressure loses the effect over the region, we will see the dry conditions,,3 until the front arrives,

potentially, giving showers back west. ú%t even then it will be dry conditions acrrss the mid-atlantic. so it doesn't look like we will get any rain. unless earl affects us. here is what is happening on the future scan. time ting o clear conditions around the state.ú several days. then the froot gets closer. as it moves closer out of the northwest. you can see the showers firing up overrparts of chicago, central michigan, that fronnú arrives here, by about thursday. and then also e have the storm earl that is out over the atlannic that will bb arriving. -all.is is going to be a close we have to watch this closely. because earllright now is a cateeory 4 storm. winds at 132 miles per hour. ggsting to 161. dangerous storm with a well defined eye here. you can see the eye. tightly packed. track of the storm takes the model run from the hurricane centtr, showssit at a category 4 strength. and then three off the coast. few hundred miles from theú atlantic. this coold shift west. this is the cone of incident.
