of the crop. >> live in high definition, from wbff tv in baltimore, this is fox 45 news "late edition". >> welcome back to the "late edition." i am karen parks. the search for the driver that struck and killed a retired fencing coach at johns hopkins may be over. myranda stephens is in north baltimore with more on the coach's life, and the latest developments surrounding the death. >> well police have named a person of interest in the death of richard oles. a retired fencing coach, here at johns hopkins university. oles died early thursday morning, after he was hit by a pickup truck carrying a snow plow along mountain road in pasadena. he was walking in the road because of the snow from the big storm. the driver that hit him though, kept going. >> the update in the investigation. where we stand right now t appears that we have recovered a vehicle of interest. in the case. also we are working closely if

there is an individual cooperating with the investigation. that's a person we have identified as a suspect of interest. >> oles graduated from johns hopkins in 1968. he joined the army. but later returned to the university where he coached the blue jay fencing team for 44 years. those that knew him best said he was a well -- >> and there is another hit-and-run investigation in arundel county. police say don gable died after she was dragged by a car driving east on cross creek drive in glen burnie. there are no suspects at this time. >> breaking news now. a man shot in southwest baltimore tonight. has died. police say he was shot a number of times in the chest, arm, leg. and it happened just blocks from the railroad museum. no suspects at this hour. >> west baltimore man gets 50 years in prison for throwing his

3-year-old son off the key bridge. a judge sentenced stephan todd nelson today in the killing of 3-year-old turner. nelson received the maximum sentence available after agreeing to plead guilty to second-degree murder and a first degree child abuse charge. after the sentencing the mother said she felt vindicated but as for the feelings for her son's father. >> i have no feelings for him. none. i forgive him because my faith in god tells me i have to. in order to move on with my life. i have to forgive him. but i will never forget what he did. for as long as i live. >> nelson threw his son off the bridge, on superbowl sunday, back in 2008. he said demons made him do it. prosecutors say he did it to cause pain to the child's mother. after having disputes with her over visitation and child support. >> a bank robbery in montgomery county ends with gun fire and entire episode is captured on tape. as kathleen cairns reports, the suspect ends up dead, a female

hostage gets away. >> outside of the capitol one bank in tacoma park, police respond to an armed robbery in progress. >> i heard the sirens first. >> news helicopter crew captured the video that shows a female hostage leaving the bank with the gunman behind her. >> i saw police cars on the street. >> then the gunman makes the move. as he tries to escape and uses the hostage as a shield. police zero in. one officer is just a few feet away. as the gunman backs up, he slips on the ice. and the female hostage escapes. >> she dropped her jacket and ran away. he ran after her, and he was shot. >> i have five or six gunshots. >> i know he die. because he got shot a lot of times. >> police confirm quickly that the suspect was fatally shot. while investigators go over the evidence at the scene. shoppers are shocked by the friday morning madness.

five points on their license would pay 100-dollar fine for each point over five points. and convicted drunk drivers would pay an extra $500 fine, each year for three years. the governor is now responding to questions about how to classify those higher fines. >> proposed fee increases are they a tax hike? >> no. there is also some increases on what we charge people that are on parole or probation for their supervision. so i said that we would submit a budget balanced with cuts. that's what we have done. >> call it a surcharge, fee, a tax. it is government taking money out of the citizen's pocket. >> delegate anthony o'donnell said state lawmakers should have the final say on whether to increase fines for bad drivers. >> early we asked should traffic violators pay more in fines and fees? so far 39 percent say yes. while 61 percent say no.

>> hi karen. rough week of snowy weather. things are calm over the inner harbour this evening. dry conditions out there. a little cool. cool temperatures in our forecast for tonight. down to 34 right now. we have not warmed up a lot today. so we have not dropped down a lot from where we were earlier. cloudy skies right now. and winds out of the west-northwest at 7 miles per hour. so we did see some light snow roll through earlier today. it really didn't leave a lot on the ground. some portions of carroll county saw half an inch. most saw-whet roadways. and majority of the snow on the ground came from what we saw a couple of days ago. not today. and that's the case for tomorrow. so another round of the light snow coming through tomorrow in the middle of the day. but won't create much as far as the accumulation on the ground. and we will have cloudy skies for the next 12 hours or so, before the next system comes in. so there it is right there. back in michigan for tonight. moves through the area during the day tomorrow. not everybody will see the snow. but light snow possible, especially further north you live. north of the city and anywhere

along the pennsylvania line is most likely to see the snow tomorrow. it will be gone tomorrow night. clearing skies after. that high pressure will build in. quiet couple of days for sunday and monday. with seasonal temperatures. we are watching the weather map because that low pressure system forming down near texas at the end of the weekend. will move in our direction. the models have the kind of taking a track, similar to the storm we had this week. and the timing looking similar as well. that could bring us potential heavier snowfall as we head to tuesday and wednesday. possibly even into the late day wednesday as well. so we will be watching that low pressure system for potential heavier snow by the middle of the week. overnight tonight. cold temperatures to be dealing with. northwest winds at 5 miles per hour. overnight lows will be dropping down to the low to mid 20s. and then a milder day for tomorrow. especially on the eastern shore. 40 degrees and partly cloudy skies. central maryland, we will have temperatures in the mid to upper 30s.

with mostly cloudy skies. and a little bit cooler and messyer. greater chance for snow in western maryland. highs in the mid 30s. they could see 1-to 2-inches of snow accumulating for -- before the system departs tomorrow night. and sunday and monday, dry conditions. and tuesday and wednesday, is what we are watching. low pressure system will approach our area. it looks like right now. good chance for snow tuesday. better chance of a rain/snow mix on wednesday. i will let you know what to expect after that system leaves. coming up in the seven-day forecast. back to you. >> man on the eastern shore showed lack of common sense when he broke into a bank. the burglar set off an alarm. when they arrived on the scene, he was stuffing bills into a bag. only trouble is, it was not even real money. they were bogus bills, used for training purposes. >> and common sense could ease those long waits on some airport
