elections. in the national level, candidates are complaining about their last debate and what they would like to next week's debate. juliet: president obama is commenting on their complaints. robert moses joins us from the newsroom with more. >> reporter: president obama made his comments at a fund-raiser in the city last night. let's just say he wasn't very kind. the republican field is wide open but its newest front runner is enjoying his biggest lead yet. ben carson is the republican to be. the new nbc news wall street journal poll finds carson with the support of 29% of republican primary voters. donald trump is six points behind. marco rubio, ted cruz and jeb bush follow. the poll was conducted before the most recent debate during which candidates rally criticized the cnbc moderator's for their questions. new jersey governor chris christie says the moderators are not the stars. >> they want to make themselves famous, they are more important

we will talk about it later on. i am shocked used that slogan. ben: big step in giving former inmates a second chance for a president obama would like the federal government to stop asking about criminal history on job applications. recalls it banning the box, during a visit to a halfway house yesterday he said he wants congress to get rid of the check box on federal employment applications that indicates whether the applicant has committed a felony. he says the change would give former inmates a second chance but not everybody is for that idea. >> we are not suggesting ignoring but we are suggesting when it comes to the application, give folks a chance to get through the door. give them at chance to get in there so they can make their case. >> i think it is wrong. it takes the right away of transparency of the employers to find out what kind of people they are interviewing, who they are interviewing. ben: chris christie lashed out

at the president saying he only showed up in the garden state because it achieved things he failed to achieve on a national level. juliet: a man was shot and killed while trying to stop a robbery in a brooklyn deli, a good samaritan. let's look at this video, surveillance video shows the robbery in progress, this is in east flatbush tuesday night, police say the man in the red sweatshirt shot and killed 32-year-old damian francis who tried to stop the crime. the 2 suspects are still on the loose. if you have any information please call crime stoppers at 1-800-577-tips. ben: first responders at ground zero calling on congress to restore health care funding for thousands who got sick after working in the rubble. one proposed bill extends coverage for another five years but would also cut funding by 60%. critics say that is not good enough. >> it is not going away in 5 years.

we will see a lot of sunshine throughout the day and above normal temperatures, high pressure blocking things up, you had that area of low pressure weakening and trying to meander or head off shore and meander in southeastern states, the carolinas, the wet weather where they do not need it. we have high pressure in control so you have sunshine and a lot of folks will enjoy the sunshine but we could use the rain fall but it is not in the cards. here is what you have for election day forecasts, the polls open up at 6:00 in the morning, 51 degrees with the son coming to you at that point, lunchtime voting, temperatures 69, it will be nice and warm, no excuses in terms of not getting out there to vote because the weather will be fantastic, 72 for high, 63 for the 9:00 p.m. when polls close.
