>> ines, get in there girl. >> might want to protect something. welcome back. glad to get your caloric thing started. you should see what they eat in the morning. here are high temps yesterday. 71 was high at central park. 72 in belmar. they didn't come until really late in the day. i believe. warm temps are out there and yesterday. 69 was the high temp in sussex. here is where we start you off this morning, 6degrees in -- 66 degrees in central park with mostly cloudy sky. we don't have the fog like yesterday. a little bit here and there but that's it for the time-being. dewpoints are really high so the air is loaded up with moisture. look how warm it is everywhere. 60s throughout the northeast. hard to believe it, yes ahead of the cold front we have very warm temperatures. that is because of a stronger southwesterly flow.

humidity. that is why the dewpoints are so high. just few spots of rain on east end of long island. a little bit off the offshore waters. not too much action. you may have drizzle. keep that in mind. eventually the cold front will come through. it is right there. it will drop down and clean things up and take all this moisture out of here. when does it happen, that's the question? there is a risk of a few little showers as we go through the day. later on this evening around 6:00 to 9:00, we have the front crossing the area. futurecast don't hold on to a whole lot when it comes to rainfall. looks like pretty much a bust to the west of us, does not look like that will way as we head into the evening overnight hours. tomorrow morning you have cloud cover. the front is close offshore but clears out. mostly clear skies later on in the day on saturday. cooler temps taking on as well.

rains running on or close. ben, juliet. >> thank you. >> a woman is dead after being struck by a bus crossing the street in flushing. >> we do the know if the driver knew if he or she hit somebody because the driver left the scene. teresa priolo is live with the investigation. reporter: good morning, everybody. this tragic incident occurred main street and casino boulevard here in flushing, queens. we'll show you video of scene as well as paramedics and police arrived to find this woman deceased. what we understand a woman was hit by a bus and that bus driver fled the scene. again, as ben mentioned, juliet mentioned we don't even know if in fact the driver knew he struck an individual. the woman, her name has not yet been released. we don't know her identity. police expect to give all of us that information a little bit later.

as far as the bus is concerned, what we understand, it's a privately-owned bus. there is some speculation that it might be a skyline bus and possibly transporting people and from casinos. as i mentioned this is very, very busy intersection. a lot of different businesses around here. stands to reason there would be a lot of different surveillance cameras including the fact up the queens librariry, banks in the area, starbucks in the area. police will look at all that surveillance video. also on top of that, as you join me back out here live, you can't see it from where we are, just off to my side, there is in fact an nypd surveilance camera mounted on a light pole. police are also reviewing that video. they hope to be able to make quick work of this investigation. that's the latest from flushing this morning. juliet, i will send things back to you. >> teresa, thank you very much. a group of inmates slash ad corrections officer at rikers island.

officials say it went down at 4:30 yesterday afternoon. officer raymond calderon was held down by two teenage inmates who slashed him. he was unconscious and taken to the hospital with injuries described as non-life-threatening. no word on any arrests. >> two leading republican presidential candidates are getting secret service. the agency authorized them to work on donald trump and ben carson's campaigns. they both requested the protection last month. they give candidates, 120 days, four months before an election. but past candidates including president obama were assigned campaigns. >> definitely security issues 5:07. lineup is set for next week's republican presidential debate. >> new jersey governor chris christie did not make the cut for prime time debate. fox kerry drew joins us who made

queens around 8:30. we have video from the scene as it unfolded. what we're being told a woman was hit and killed, died here in the street and bus driver took off. it isn't clear if he struck anybody at all. but he did take off. police are on the hunt for him. they not only want to know who the man is, but also what he was doing here in flushing, queens, who he was working for and so on. as far as the victim is concerned her name has not been released just yet. we don't know if she lived here in flushing. we don't know anything about her whereabouts. a very tragic, very sad situation. what we can tell you, this is incredibly busy intersection. casino and main. a lot of different business around. they have the queens library here. there are lots of surveillance cameras around. police will look at the cameras to see what they show. we can tell you there is in fact nypd surveilance camera, mounted on a light poll. see this here live in the intersection of casina and main. they're reviewing that video as
