problem with coastal flooding in the onshore wind that will kick up the flooding that we have to deal with in the tri-state. this is where we have the blizzard watch. 6:00 on saturday so it still 48 hours out . the green shaded area , all of long island and all five boroughs, you have the blizzard watch going into effect with a winter weather watch that extends at the lower hudson valley into putnam county and orange county. it goes in northern new jersey and back down. goes down to the poconos with a winter storm watch. you get somewhere in the neighborhood of three 6 inches. in some places, well over a foot. the totals and sunday in the early afternoon. six 12 inches of snow for the bull's-eye.that's all

12 16 inches plus as you head into new jersey. snow totals drop as you head to the north. northern fairfield county and westchester what happens is the moisture doesn't make it that far to the north so there will be a big difference in terms of who gets what for snow totals in the end. 270 clear skies. we are well ahead of the storm . 25 in d.c. and 27 in central park . we have a lot of cold air here already and that's one of the first ingredients. we spoke about a week disturbance that passed through last night that cause problems near the nation's capital dropping off an inch 2 inches of snow. it came in across

proactive. now to scarsdale. it's in shock! they haven't had a murder in decades. it's not the case anymore. a well-respected pediatrician has killed and her mansion. carrie drew joins us live from scarsdale . >> they are investigating this incident and it's the first in the affluent suburb since the 1970s. behind you, you could notice that police are still out here. police continue the investigation and we don't know too many details at this point but we do know that a woman was killed and her husband was taken into custody.what we are about to hear is the police dispatch call. >> it's in response of 50 lincoln rd.

seriously and no further information was given. arrive on scene and wait outside until the patrols enter. >> when police arrived in scarsdale at this multi-million-dollar home, they found the body of doctor robin goldman. she was stabbed to death. her husband , identified as jules right , is taken into custody and is in the hospital for undisclosed reasons. doctor goldman worked as a pediatrician affiliated with lots of the consulting firms in manhattan.they told the daily news that it dispute. they show he had petitioned for divorce in august. they are calling it intentional saying it's an isolated incident and they are investigating the first homicide in scarsdale since 1977 .

the couple has lived in the home since 1997 and they have grown children. the victim's son , adam, told the post that his mom is a great person amazing. the husband is in the hospital after being taken into custody on the scene. this is the latest year. back to you. >> it was an infamous murderer. it was the bonnie garland case. the yale student was killed by her boyfriend. the nypd is on high alert after receiving a firm threat . they wanted to shoot an officer. one person did turn themselves in. he didn't make the call. the alert went out on all officers yesterday after they receive the threat . earlier this month, a man who pledged allegiance ambushed and shot a police officer in philadelphia.

with that in mind, the commissioners says they take the threat seriously. >> there is no more higher priority for me in my safety. >> philadelphia police officer received a new threat yesterday just around the same time as the nypd. commissioner bratton announced new initiatives for new police and community interaction with an increase in terrorism. the new york state assembly speaker found guilty of corruption but he can still collect his state passion? >> the comptrollers officer confirmed that he could get $80,000 a year . that is because under the constitution, the lawmakers are eligible for their punch in. it's something governor cuomo would like to change. he would like to receive a forfeiture. he will decide how much at the sentencing hearing. we still have a lot to come.

juliet: i love it! mike: we have a blizzard watch going into effect and it's from 6:00 tomorrow morning saturday morning until 1:00 sunday afternoon. what that means is we have the potential for blizzard conditions at that time. it's 48 hours out but it's out there in the national weather service issues that. the blue counties are not as much wind. when it comes to snowfall, the snow potential out there with most of us counting on a good six 12 inches of snow . at least they could change but look at the big bull's-eye down to the nation's capital near philly. we are looking at 12 16 inches. here is what we had. the weekends heavy snow developing throughout the day.drifting snow comes

that's about to change. the office of emergency management will begin calls . we toured the headquarters and it's really a war room. this is where personnel will be monitoring the storm as it hit and makes decisions accordingly. the commissioner warns that high winds will force the closure of certain bridges and tunnels and we will have to wait to see what happens. the sanitation department is trying a new plowing program called snow sector. what it means is in previous years, five streets were left untreated for hours leaving big problems. this year, the goal is to treat those streets much sooner. with two days to go, now

not so much going on with the whiteout conditions. that's the big deal there in the coastal area. today, we started out with a mainly clear sky and snow went by to the south but it's not a bother for us in the tri-state. this will be the next storm dropping off a decent amount of snow at six 12 inches. some folks are down to the southwest scene 12 16 inches. the further north that you had , the more they should be offshore looking at the totals on a lesser side. in the future cast, some disagreements about the models . it brings the snow further to the north near the capital district. at this point, most of the models are saying no and we get the heavier amounts here to the south. highs get up to 36 and tomorrow we get partly cloudy skies with clouds increasing at 33.
