>>juliet: a lovely lunch yesterday. we took a picture later on. >>ben: why not? we don't embarrass the set that much, i don't think. >>juliet: king juliet. >>ben: let's show you what's going on out there. we've got some changes coming up for our city, our temperatures a lot warmer this morning. we're at 49 degrees central park right now but the winds are going to be picking up really good later this morning and into the afternoon. there is a wind advisory going up for the bay shaded counties including the burroughs area, long island as well as a good part of new jersey, mainly the central southern sections. winds coming in from the south at 35 miles per hour but gusting up to 50. long island, time to titles things down. the garbage cans go flying with the winds pick up. this is one of those sort of days so take care of it before

49 degrees in central park, a few degrees in bridgeport and 59 degrees in poughkeepsie. winds coming in out of the southeast at 5 to 13, 14 miles per hour and that's generally what you're going to see picking up as time goes on clouds are already back again but the showers are not a problem just yet. they start to break out as we get into the morning commute and will really pick up later this afternoon and into this evening as the cold front gets closer to us but we got the warm front already writing to the north, high pressure no longer in control. the same low-pressure that will force it all through. scattered showers and maybe even a thunderstorm later on this afternoon, it looks like there is a possibility for that and temperatures continue to climb up to 64, a high and most of this rain coming through in the afternoon and into the evening and then it should slow down after that. temperature wise, we make it up to 60 for a hike today and tomorrow looks like we catch a break at points but still a

criticized what he called new york values expounded on what he meant. there the values of liberal democratic politicians like andrew cuomo, like anthony weiner, a like eliot spitzer. like charlie rangel. all of whom donald trump has supported, given tens of thousands of dollars to throughout the years. if you want to know what liberal democratic values are, follow donald trump's checkbook . >>reporter: crews will visit a matzoh factory in brooklyn. john kasich will also be in the city, he will greet voters at mike's deli on arthur avenue in the bronx and then tonight he holds the town hall meeting in brooklyn. ted cruz was supposed to visit the bronx white house college preparatory academy yesterday but students threatened a walk out so the school canceled that visit. many of the students there are immigrants and they cite cruises immigration stance as one reason for their objections.

the newsroom this morning , back upstairs to you . >>ben: thank you very much. the attacks are also heating up between the democrats, hillary clinton and bernie sanders. clinton is questioning sanders truthfulness and preparedness for the presidency. sanders said back rally in philadelphia accusing her of taking tens of millions of dollars and special interest funds. they had a nasty twitter exchange yesterday . involving guns, yes. the attacks, ahead of the very important april 19 new york primary. he accused her of taking money from special interest , she accused him of voting for a bill that was favored by the nra. >>juliet: both say the other is not qualified to be president. 4:37. let's talk about things a little closer to home like right over there on time square. the city one step closer to rounding up those costumed characters in time square,

we are not there yet. then is happy about this. a city council committee approved a bill allowing the dot to restrict where characters can panhandle at pedestrian areas in all five boroughs. the move calls complaints from tourists and several arrests by police. the big controversies always seem to be in the time square area. lawmakers say they will provide plenty of space and put up signs encouraging tips. >> i don't think it's that bad an idea because sometimes they get a little aggressive.if you they know where the zone is for photo ops it's a great idea. >> i will be a street hero. i will be the first hero to get arrested because i'm not going to be in the box. i'm going to be walking freely in time square. >>reporter: >>juliet: that sounds wise. the bill goes before the city council later today. >>ben: bad news if you are fed up with subway weights.

[laughter] >>ben: it's like that countdown clock that never changes. >>reporter: makes the point as it is with writers alliance, an advocacy group for subway riders. he knows the frustration of dealing with subway lines running late . >> yesterday it felt like half the city was here, they had delays on a, c, the one. i was taught in it myself. >>reporter: according to an audit, on-time performance has gotten worse. as of last year it was 78 percent. in 2013 it was better, at 80 percent. >> it's annoying. so frustrating. >>reporter: according to the state office, wait times got worse on 16 lines and then among the numbered lines in 2013 and 2014 the one train was the best, the number five the worst.

sea was the best in 2013 . the d in 2014. years. the comptroller also criticized the mtas method for calculating the percentage of on-time subway trains saying that it produces better results than what actually exists. the mta has admitted delays are on the rise . however it released a statement saying in part that the comptroller's audit quote: includes misunderstandings, misinterpretations and outright misrepresentations. >>reporter: don't expect on-time performance to improve on anytime soon.the reason? it says the mta needs money from albany that it's just not getting. >> the system that really needs to fix these problems as we need our system signals. they are incredibly outdated and we need to look at fixing out track and get more trains running in the system . >>reporter: what can you do? he says call the state legislature and complain.

linda schmidt, fox 5 news. >>ben: it is pretty bad. yet another knife crime in the city. a 13-year-old boy was stabbed last night on the train and bedside brooklyn. he got into an argument with a teenage girl on a c train around 6 pm. when the doors open at ralph avenue, the girl pulled a knife out of her bag and stab the boy once in his stomach. he was taken to a nearby hospital in stable condition. look at those photos. that's the girl described as 14 to 16 years old, 130 pounds or so, about five foot five inches: wearing a black leather jacket. if you saw her call crime stoppers, one 800 577 tips. >>juliet: teacher in newtown connecticut has been arrested for carrying a gun in school. jason adams was found with a concealed firearm yesterday at newtown middle school.

but it is against the law to carry a weapon in school in connecticut. he has been placed on administrative leave. security guards were put into all schools in newtown on the sandy hook elementary school massacre in 2012. >>ben: police tracked down this photographer who was accused of climbing to manhattan skyscrapers and posting the videos online. 34-year-old james mcnally was arrested twice , once last month were climbing up 70 pine street and once in january were climbing that gigantic tower, 157 in midtown. he faces several charges and is due back in court later this month. >>juliet: still ahead on "good day early call", wind advisory in effect and there may be snow on the way. >>ben: that's unacceptable . >>juliet: i heard rumors about this, we will talk to mike. >>ben: and young girls , that's one item she can cross off her bucket list when we come back. >>ben: good morning everyone, it is thursday. time to get up and running. clouds making a comeback in the tri-state, 49 degrees. warmer temperature with winds coming in from the south at 10 miles an hour and it's going to be cloudy throughout the northeast. wet weather coming in , just let this go round not like. you've got 48 degrees in williamsport, 44 degrees in albany and there's the radar

cloudy sky already. cloudy to mostly cloudy. no rain in the area yet however that's going to be changing as time goes on. you can see there's plenty of it. there's the area of low pressure coming across ohio adding into the western sections of pennsylvania and there are showers ahead of it. looks like light to moderate but there are pockets of heavier rain that will be with that and by the time it gets here we are expecting some of that also. took a look at the future cast, it is bring us showers later in the day but by midday on, showers are really going on and it looks like it's peeking around four to 6:00 and then it starts getting out of here but we will see scattered showers even as we head into the evening and by tomorrow morning , most of it already wrapped up. we do keep some instability around tomorrow. there is a chance you will see showers to the north and you will see there are snow chances as you head into upstate new york. not a big problem here for us in the tri-state.another big area of pressure heads in saturday and that one is looking interesting. it looks like perhaps rain mixed with snow coming through
