the clerk was able to fire at another suspect driving away. the suspect shot was flown to the hospital and we don't have word on his condition. >> amy: a driver accused of not stopping after hitting a 3-year-old boy is heading to court. billy gibson turned himself in yesterday. he hit the boy on monday night and he left the scene because he had a suspended license. and the boy's mother said despite a few bruises the boy will be fine. >> amy: asking for your help to solve a murder. >> john: the shooting happened december 23. fox 35's jackie orozco has the very latest. good morning, jackie. >> reporter: good morning. so many people showed up to last night's vigil.

a gorgeous start to the day ahead. do enjoy. clouds in place. high pressure capping off the weather scene. back behind me, old el nino at play. very strong storms are beginning to move into the western states and moving across. it'll be the first storm to move across by friday. and monday into sunday time frame we see another one move towards us. here's the issue with friday. we'll stop it here and show the approach of the low at friday at 9:07. the computer modeling is backing up the arrival time of the feature. never the less producing strong isolated storms. there could be possible tornadic activity. i don't want to scare you, but keeping you upto date.

vehicle was last seen where the murder happened on new year's eve. police say that someone gunned down the man west of orange blossom trail. witnesses say that the gunman ran to the vehicle after the shooting. it's described as a silver dodge durango with tinted windows. >> john: a teenager accused of running over an orlando police officer will not get out of jail any time soon. he will stay behind bars without bond. he is accused of running over the officer last year. the incident was caught on dash cam video. kelty's lawyers argued that officer appearedderson slipped and fell, but the judge did not agree. >> amy: working to identify remains found in a wooded area. they believe they belong to missing toddler, lonzie

a lot of the nation is on the cool side. orlando is 48. compared to the rest of the nation, i say winning, we're the nation that's for sure. orlando at the airport, 50. and lower 50s along is the brevard barrier islands along the beach front there. we have clouds. clouds actually keeping the temperatures up rather than down like yesterday like with the clear skies we woke up with yesterday morning. we'll have a wave of cloud covers streaming overhead. what we have right now is the makings of a proud strong storm. energy coming out of the rockies. and on the southern edge of the jet stream. that should induce spin-up and

the northern gust. gulf. that same low moving our way by friday. we find the warm airlifting up. along the boundary, by friday morning, we're likely to see showers and stronger storms breaking out. then the low is across northeast florida and dragging the most inclement weather with the low and keeping it to the north. hopefully, that is how it plays out. if the low drops further south, we may be talking about damaging wind gusts and isolated tornadic activity. not what you want on a friday or any time around these parts. we'll continue to watch and bring you the latest in the weather center. boating forecast, 3 to 6 today. long period groundswell out of the northeast at 12 seconds. local wind chop. it's all about the mounds of
