the mother of a teen orange county is death. 14-year-old michael rodriguez was killed wednesday after he was hit by two cars young parkway. the victim's mom improvements made to make it safer for people walking. troopers are investigating the accident... but say the road was very dark. new this morning-- a man accused of breaking into 22 vehicles in the apopka area... is off the streets this morning. police say thomas jordan and two accomplices stole thousands of dollars worth of property from vehicles across the city recently. they say the 20 year-old planned to steal even more... he admitted to trying to break into 300 vehicles... but the group only stole from vehicles that

weren't locked. a news alert now out of china-- at least ten people are dead and 7 are injured... following an explosion at a fireworks factory. this happened yesterday-- at the factory in central china. authorities say it's not immediately clear what caused the explosion. china is less than a month away from new year celebrations, when people often set off -hl!inese officials say there are frequent fireworks-related incidents at factories in the weeks leading to the holiday. we are still waiting to hear exactly who won the powerball jackpot in melbourne beach. right now--none of the three jackpot winners have been identified. the winning tickets were sold in chino munford, tennessee... and melbourne beach. fox 35's tiffany teasley has the details on florida's winner. teachers from across the state

meanwhile... the state department says iran did not violate geneva conventions by sharing pictures of the sailors it detained... because the u-s is not at war with iran. a man accused of killing a florida woman in florence, italy... has been arrested. an attorney for 27- year-old cheik diaw says his client reacted "badly" when ashley olsen pushed him out of her apartment last friday... after the two had intercourse and did drugs together. olsen's body was found the next day... showing signs of strangulation. indonesian police have arrested three men accused of taking part in yesterday's attacks in jakarta. investigators say they also found an "isis flag" in the home of one of the men... supporting claims that the terror group orchestrated the attack that and five of the attackers. a crime alert now-- arrested in orange re-selling used tickets to disney parks! investigators say the trio sold them out of this gas station near the disney entrance off of highway 535. this is how the scheme worked:

if someone came in --looking for tickets--the suspects would sell them used multi-day tickets... that they said still had a few days on them. two problems though. first--selling used theme park tickets is illegal. second-- undercover deputies say those 5ets did not have as many left on them as the suspects claimed. disney's security investigator tells us... all three suspects had been kicked-out of their parks in the past... because of similar schemes. coming up next-- authorities now trying to find the person... who shot and killed two family pets in volusia county. plus-- an upsetting loss for the orlando magic. they took on the raptors in london last night. the details coming up. you're watching fox 35 good day orlando. it's we'll be right back.

orlando. police say .. they do not have a cause of death yet. a judge is expected to decide if a death penalty case in volusia county should be delayed. this week--the supreme court declared the florida death penalty unconstitutional. luis toledo is charged with first degree murder. he's accused of killing his wife and her two children. telodo would have faced a possible death sentenced if convicted. now prosecutors are asking for a 60- day delay to sort out the impact of the supreme court decision. the defense is fighting that delay. deputies are searching for the person who shot and killed a family's pets. last week a lake helen family's goose and duck were found dead. then on tuesday--a neighbor's cat was also killed. the family thinks kids are to blame... but are still worried for their and are sending a community. many people are finally using their the first time-- as the warm temperatures give way to winter weather across parts of the u-s.
