but cruz was able to smack drufn down. but he messed up because he gave donald trump the opportunity to humanize himself. marco rubio came in a strong second. i really think chris christie, i have to disagree with earnest, i think he had a horrible debate. he's sounding the same. marco rubio and jeb bush -- sorry, jeb bush and chris christie were going to team up against marco rubio. it didn't happen. rubio came out a strong second. and chris risty sounded the same. >> john: the whole new york value thing. it doesn't resonate with me at all. i thought marco rubio stood out. it seems he had very valuable points and made his point well. he's gotten better as the debates go on. >> i completely agree. one thing he has gotten more comfortable with increasing his tone. one of the gifts that donald

panel moving forward is embracing the demandel mantel of anger. coming off the address, and the the governor haley response. both sort of railed against him specifically and republicans in general for having too harsh of a tone. marco rubio was much stronger and enthusiastic. and very quickly, he made a point against ted cruz, 11 or 12 thingsy cruz flipped his vote. and cruz's response, half of those things that marco said were not true. if half were not true, then half were true. i think that marco rubio did a good job of controlled air aggression and great excitement, enthusiasm. >> that's a good lawyer there. he's good at math too. cuts right through it. frank, where do we go from here. trump, cruz, marco. is it time for the rest to step
