plus this ... >> amy: clean up is under way as parts of florida is cleaning up after the deadly tornadoes. . jayme king was here over the weekend monitoring the storms. we were lucky here but not so much at the coast. >> jayme: around 3:00, 3:30 we saw the storm making it move to sarasota. and than was strong. ripped upped holmes and two fatalities attributed. so not a good scene. we fared a bit better but still gusty and damaging winds and extremely heavy rainfall. back behind the departing system, man has it gotten cool.

and upper 20s in upper gainesville as soon as wednesday morning. it's a light, slight breeze in spots. it's putting our wind chill values into the 30s in a lot of areas as the wind continues to increase. 39, the wind chill, or feels like temperature. high clouds moving across portions of the area. mostly rowdy cloudy should -- mostly cloudy should scour out. we're back to around 60 for the high today. the next reinforcing cold front is drawing a bead on the area into your wednesday time frame. it appears we'll see cooler temperatures filling in from the north.

the city of gainesville, alachua county county 1:00 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. this is a freeze watch along i-75 through sumter county. watching to see if we'll get to the freezing level oral -- or below that. and live drive traffic time now. it's been pretty quiet. we have one scene along i-4 at 535. an accident that's been moved over to the side of the corresponding roadways. pretty much slow and go in that stretch. smooth sailing in the green and under 10 minutes. we do like it that way for sure. >> john: several tornadoes ripped through the area. >> amy: one turned deadly

now the national weather service is trying to determine if the naples area had has been by a tornado. there was a ef2 tornado in manatee county. their son was able to crawl out from under the debris, gather his four children, and get to a safe place. it's the first death from a tornado in florida since 2012. >> they loved their grandkidded, their neighbor, steve would do anything for anybody. >> amy: boats damaged trees toppled and a semi was overturned on the interstate. we felt the wind and the rain after all of the damage was done

power was knocked out in some areas like merritt island. >> john: a home on harwood, south of colonial driervetion neerp the orange county. dana jay has more on the details. >> reporter: good morning. we're here in the neighborhood. it was a scary night for the mom and her children. we have seen some family members come and go checking up on the people here. police say that the people in the home were targeted mistakenly. the call went into police around midnight. the people reportedly knocked on the door and pushed their way into the house. police say that the masked men had guns and told the people for. family members tell us there were five people in the house at the time.

three men were grabbed by a group of gunman from an apartment in baghdad. ryan has the latest on that. good morning. >> reporter: this kidnapping happened on friday. it was not reported until sunday. the u.s. state department said they're working with iraqi authorities to find the men. no one has identify who had is responsible for the kidnapping. two of the men we can tell you are dual iraqi citizens and the third is an american national. the boston globe reports that 30-year-old man arrived at boston's logan airport last night. the globe posted this picture it shows he was greeted by his family. he spent 40 days in an iranian prison. others were freed by the

a secondary front moving through. snow to the north. and we're looking for upper 20s over north central florida. ocala, and gainesville by wednesday morning. 30s south of that point. breaking down the details. 1:00 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. on tuesday, gainesville, alachua. bushnell will have a freeze watch. temperatures marginal. we may or may not approach the freeze. a solid two to three hours of subfreezing conditions in gainesville. cover up the tender ornamentals because they will get crispy and pretty much burned in quick fashion with the big cooldown in place. the remainder of us averting a freeze. we'll have temperatures hovering above that. but nonetheless, it'll be on the cool side. certainly prepare for that.

caught up with a man, cory henderson, who shot and killed him. henderson continued to shoot as backup officers arrived and injured officer ritchie. and henderson was eventually shot to death himself. and police say that henderson was wanted for several crime, including federal arms violation. officers arrested the woman who was arrested for leaving the scene of an accident. >> john: high levels of lead in michigan city's water supply stepping in today. president obama has issued a state of emergency foe flint granting it federal aid. they switched the source of drinking to the flint river two years ago. not long after residents started to complain about the smell of the water and some developed rashes.

shelter with their son and grandkids. now the national weather service is trying to determine if the naples area was hit. fox's shayla reaves has the latest of the damage in sarasota. >> reporter: many folks here in sarasota, and manatee county working to pick up the pieces left behind after this weekend's tornado. you are looking at a home here off bay winds lane in sarasota. this is what's left after the weekend tornado. you can see the roof collapsed, a vehicle still there in the garage and piece after piece of this house strewn about in the front yard. the sarasota eoc said that they have a long road ahead getting things back on track. at last check, they were looking at somewhere in the neighborhood of $3 million of damage.
