mid-40s. light and slight breeze is doing damage to the actual temperature. we call it the wind chill, or the feels-like temperature. it feels like the 30s. south of orlando, wind chill factor in the low to mid-40s. and cool after yesterday's rough run of the weather. yesterday i was here with glen and it was coming down. but we're at 60 by 2:00 p.m. and 58 for the drive home at 5:00 p.m. our forecast for the next seven day, everything is hinging on the next front lining up. this is a reinforcing cold front. once it heads through here, we'll have temperatures lower. highs by tomorrow, upper 50s, maybe mid-50s north of orlando. and as we round the bend in the end of the week, 60s and 70s

and then ultimately wetter by friday afternoon. passing showers, isolated storm, and then breezy and chilly on the weekend. lows in low to mid-40s. drive times are looking fine. not much in the way of accidents or anything like that. things have cleaned up nicely, especially along golden road where we have had a couple snarls. eastbound and westbound i-4 in the green. >> john: 7:02. developing right now, parts of central florida are cleaning up after tornadoes ripped through the area over the weekend. >> amy: one quickly turned deadly after a couple was seeking shelter with their children. in manatee county, two people died and four children hurt

by an ef2. 58-year-old steve wilson and his wife kate were killed. their son was able to gather up the four children. the first death in florida since 2012. >> they loved their grandkids, and steve would do anything for anybody. >> amy: trees were toppled and this semi was overturned. and in central florida, we saw a lot of wind and rain, but after that it was pretty much good for us. there was some damage, as you know, along the gulf coast. power was knocked out for several hundred in areas like merritt island, and lake mary. you can download the fox 35 weather app and downloads right

>> amy: a gunman terrorized a mother and her children. >> john: fox 35's dana jay is live at the orlando police department with the latest details this morning. good morning, dana. >> reporter: good morning. it was a scary moment for the woman and her kids. we have seen families coming and going checking up on the people in the house. the would be robbers targeted the wrong home, police say. the call was called into police around mind this morning. and -- around midnight this morning. the people reportedly knocked on the door of the home and pushed their way into the house. the police said that the masked men had guns and told the police inside, you know what we're here for. family members tell us there were five people in the house at the time. >> they came in with guns.

sunny and cool on the day. around 60ish or so. give or take a degree or two. bottom line, a cool one and cooler air on the way. temperature point through gainesville. the national weather service in jacksonville has issued a freeze warning for alachua from 1:00 a.m. through 8:00 a.m. a lot of snow on the northern edge of that. we won't see any of that. but we bottom out on wednesday. clear skies. and another front moves through the central peninsula on the back end of the work week. there's been a few snarls throughout for live drive traffic. there's been a few wrecks but nothing too awful.

can not call home until it is repaired. again, this is just an example of one place where you could see the impact of that devastation, just one tornado could do, in the front yard here. and you can see debris covering another vehicle. we're not far away from siesta quay. literally, a 3 minute drive. it was there, a number of kobdos, folks described being asleep and the sound of the wind and the rain, and it woke them up. a woman added that her husband literally told her to just hit the floor. a gentleman moved in, in 1976, and he watched the neighborhood develop, and he never expected to see it destroyed.

florida, shayla reaves. >> john: investigators are trying to figure out what caused flames to rip through a business in lake county. >> amy: the lake county citrus sales building on saturday night. the building had been standing for 100 years, the property evener said. thankfully, no one was hurt. robbery suspects. the crime happened on saturday at the a and m discount beverage store on clay street in kissimmee. the clerk told deputies that the two men jumped over the counter, the cash. you are asked to contact the sheriff's office if you have any information. night. police say is that brown fired several shots at the delivery the leg. the dplefer guy is expected to be okay. police say that brown has been involved in several shootings in recent weeks.

the stage for last night's democratic debate. hillary clinton, and bernie sanders, and yes, martin o'malley is still in the fight. a real clear politics poll shows clinton with only a 13 point lead over sanders. o'malley trailing way behind with 2% of support. clinton is starting to feel the heat. she took the chance to take some shots against sanders. one debate was healthcare. sanders released a new plan and clinton went on the attack saying it was going in the wrong direction. >> provide healthcare to all, and get private shoorns out, and lower the cost by $5,000. take. >> senator, there are things we can do to improve it, but to tear it up and start over again, pushing our country tbhook that

think is the wrong direction. >> amy: we want to talk to our political analysts. thanks for coming in on a holiday. frank torres and ernest deloach. frank, what do you think won? >> it was a great debate. the first time we saw the democratic candidates come out and swing at each other. hillary clinton demonstrated she can handle the attacks and reply in a strong and demanding way. she was getting attack on both fronts and i thought she handled herself very well. and i thought she did very well. >> amy: ernet, what are your thoughts? >> i totally agree. one of the things that stood out to me, that she has not done, doubled down on her washington insider experience. it started out as insider, outsider campaign, on the

on a previous debate, she wanted to make it clear that she was a progressive to that got things down. she had no problem. with her washington experience, first laidy, and then as secretary of state. obama. definitely said she will defend president obama, and his programs, including obama care, and defend many of the acts he took to reign in washington, like dodd-frank. >> amy: you say the 13% like a bad thing, but it's still a commanding lead. >> it's very commanding. you look at democratics, 2 to 1 in the african-american community. which is obviously very important in south carolina. the point of the mat, hillary is a presumptive winner. bernie has done a good job pushing her on a number of things.

spent on black lives matter, criminal justice issues are that are more important in the african-american community. i think bernie sanders helped to purr herb along in those -- push her along in those areas. a ways to go with the youth vet and the progressive vote, but by and large, 13 points is a lot of room for sanders to make up. >> amy: and donald trump ahead of his closest rival, ted cruz. he went on the attack to cruz'personality. nobody likes this guy. isn't that the same problem that trump has? >> it's the same problem that trump has. funny how that works out. both have likability problems but they're saying what republicans want to hear. a message that's aggressive and goes against the administration. you go with what works. ted cruz has been identified as trump's main rival. expect more of this as you move

[explosion]. >> reporter: that is not the finish they wanted. you see the rocket set down softly but then toppled over and exploded on impact. he said that one of the legs malfunctioned. it may have been caused by condensation. spacex has been trying and failing to land on a water-based platform. despite the fail, the part of the mission to put the json in place has been successful. last month they successfully landed on land after a launch from cape canaveral. this one didn't quite finish the way they wanted. >> john: you could see
