more on our website at fox35orlando.com. police need your help finding two missing children. >> amy: they could be with a man who is involved in a deadly shooting. >> reporter: take a good look at the two pictures. 4-year-old edward, and 10 month old lizeht were last seen south of brevard county. they believe that they are with edward gamez. he is wanted for a fatal shooting that happened on january 21. if you see any of them, call police immediately. >> amy: recall lanes of interstate i-4 are back open after a deadly crash shut down the highway overnight. >> john: troopers said that two people were killed. the crash happened just after

fownchts eastbound in debary. near mile marker 106. according to the florida highway patrol, the crash started on the eastbound lanes after a mustang rear ended a pickup truck. the truck smashed into a guardrail and ended up in the westbound lanes. two people died. a third passenger was airlifted to ormc in critical condition. the driver of the other car was not hurt. troopers do not expect alcohol is a factor in the crash. s do dozens of people refusing to leave a building in daytona beach. >> reporter: the numbers may be a bit fewer this morning, but there are still dozens of people sleeping on the sidewalk at the administration building this morning. not everyone could go to the shelter yesterday, and most didn't want to. the salvation army brought

bed temporary shelter here in daytona beach. only a few people went ahead and got on. most decided to stay. the homeless have been camped here for nearly two months. they say it's the only place they can go after the city of daytona beach closed local parks to them. it's the only place that the homeless can sleep without arrested. >> what's happening with the salvation army is basically a band aid effect. it's basically temporary. >> they would have to be woken up and leave the salvation army at 6:00 a.m. they'd be back on the street anyway. so they chose to just stay here. >> reporter: the city of daytona beach is working on building a regional shelter, but that will take years. >> john: it is 7:05 here on "good day orlando." also in orange county, a man accused of killing his girlfriend's daughter and dunk

body, is heading to court today. prosecutors say that he had been living with the 16-year-old and her mother when he killed her last july. a week after she disappeared, her body was found in a wooded area near the osceola and polk county line. he is now in the orange county jail with no bond. >> john: an orlando firefighter accused of crashing into 18 cars while driving under the influence will be formally charged. prosecutors say he was off duty while he was hitting cars at the parking garage at the lofts. they couldn't prove that he was driving drunk so he was not given a sobriety test. >> amy: casting a vote on proposed policy. new uniforms, matching polo shirt, khaki pants and closed

[gunfire]. >> it happened on january 16. during a traffic stop in orlando. opd said that the 17-year-old suspect was behind the wheel of the car. when i refused to stop, officer jonathon mills shot and wounded him. and then the man crashed into a rakant house -- vaik yont vacant and as arrested. >> amy: activists behind the under cover planned parenthood videos from last year have been charged. >> john: they are accused of tampering with government records. the case began with videos. they appear to show planned parenthood contractors discussing illegal practices. planned parenthood claims that select ives editing was used to deceive. they cleared planned parenthood

activists involved in making the videos. >> amy: euro poll is claiming that isis extremists are focusing on using special forces still groups of militants. saying they are more capable of carrying out global attacks. and they said that they will focus the majority of their attacks on france. >> john: a massive storm dumped a record amount of snow on some places along the east coast. federal and local government offices remain closed as people continue to dig out from the storm. crews continue to clear the roads in several parts of the country but a lot of people say they're still trapped in their homes. >> i shoveled all of this stuff. >> his yard is clear.

and isolated coastal rain chances. 10%. and low pressure developing back through here. a lot of energy and the amped up area of cloud cover is streaking our way. it's called a jet streak. the southern tip of the southern extension of the jet stream. serving as a conveyor belt of sorts. bringing in variable amounts of energy. and you can clearly see for wednesday and thursday. tomorrow into thursday, real soup where and soppy wet conditions out there. a few stronger storms moving into the viewing area. i have the modeling showing the approach of the low. you can see the band of very, very heavy rainfall just south of orlando. a lot of the modeling has been trending farther and farther south with the very heaviest of the rainfall. not to say that you in ocala and

by friday we say bye-bye to the rain. the cold front kicks in from the south. we'll trend cooler but not really colder, so to speak. we'll see warmer temperatures after the last cold front. we had a wind chill on this last saturday which was a rarity. and our seven-day forecast, 72 tomorrow, 67 on thursday. marginal cooling. tons of sunshine through saturday, sunday, and monday. outdoor plan, it's a no-brainer. get out and make plans. no rain chance over the weekend. but it looks like a lot of rain for florida, especially through central florida, tomorrow into thursday. that's your forecast. now a little live drive traffic time.

>> reporter: the virus is a virus related to things we have here. like west nile. it's related to yellow fief, which we don't have here. yellow fever. they they've seen a huge increase of babies born in brazil with micro-cephaly. the children have very severe and serious problems after birth. they say that they are pretty sure that the link exists. they have found in a couple of babies miscarried they found the virus. they found the virus in a couple of babies that died within 24 hours of birth. they found the virus in the amniotic fluid of two women carrying babies with the birth defect. they believe it probably strikes and affects the baby within the

taking -- i mean, they're taking all precautions. they're saying that women traveling to these countries, should not travel to these countries in any trimester or if this re-tempting to -- or if they are attempting to get pregnant. >> amy: what about snen do others have risks -- what about men? >> reporter: it's relatively mild. similar to dengy. so 1 in 5 get the symptom. fever, headache, muscle ache. and a risk for gee-on baray syndrome which can cause practical paralysis in adults. the huge concern is to the unborne babies.

anything you should do precaution before you head out? >> reporter: absolutely. if you are going to one of the area, you have to protect yourself from those mosquito. i don't care if you getting pregnant or not pregnant. you neefd to ooze repellant and -- use repellant and watch for mosquitoes. it's a mosquito that can bite during the day. they have traced the mosquitoes all the way up to new jersey and new york. they're all over the united states. you can understand why there's concern. if someone comes here. it's happened in the state of florida. three cases that were imported from south america. two from. one in miami dade. they are here, and a mosquito bites them and someone else in the household. so they are telling people that come from the areas to protect

rear ended a pickup truck. that truck smackh smashed through a guardrail. two people in the pickup truck died. and the third person was airlifted to ormc. troopers do not suspect that alcohol played a factor in the crash. >> amy: the school board will determine if kids will be wearing uniforms to school next year. >> john: they are casting their final vote tonight on the school policy. dana jay is joining us live from tomoka elementary with the latest details. >> reporter: as you said, they've been talking about adding school uniforms at volusia county schools. for months there have been protests. in fact, there was a protest here just a few moments ago. and each has gone into school at this point. the folks gathered here because they don't think that the

should be focusing on school uniforms. they thunk there are bet -- they think there are better things to pay attention to. they are frustrated about a number of issues. they are doing what they call walk-ins this week to bring attention to the issues that they think need attention from the volusia county school board. they are urging them to focus on less test, cleaner classrooms and more resources. the protests will continue here through volusia county. the vote on the school uniforms is set for this evening. reporting live in ormond beach, dana jay, fox 35 news. >> john: you decide 2016. the three democratic candidates taking the stage one final time before the iowa caucuses which take place on monday. they took part in a town hall in des moines. sanders called for free tuition at public universities and spoke about a single payer healthcare

clinton pushed back at suggestions that she's new at economic issues that have been at the center of the campaign. and o'malley said that climate change has been the important subject. >> some numbers show that better bernie may be a point ahead. here's what is interesting in hillary clinton's dialogue or rhetoric. she referred to him as her esteemed candidate or contender. bernie sanders continued to double down on what made him resonate throughout the country, and especially places like iowa. painted hillary clinton as an insider. someone friendly to blanks and what he calls of mal-garky of

>> amy: welcome back. 7:43. all new at 7:00. the coast guard rescued 13 people from a sinking yacht off the south florida coast. the vessel started to take on water about 13 miles off shore, about 6:30 last night. the coast guard had to battle choppy seas and high winds but managed to get all 13 people off the yacht.

can you imagine? 25 minutes. the yacht going from fort lauderdale to freeport, bahamas. investigators are trying to figure out why it sank. but think about the time frame. 25 minutes. they really got lucky. >> john: if you look at pictures of the serena three. wow. >> amy: it's a beautiful boat. >> john: the wife of a deadly helicopter crash speaking out. >> amy: last march it happened in college park. we have more on her story with luanne. >> reporter: harry anderson was one of flee people who died in the crash. his wife angela was supposed to be with him and ended up backing out because she said she had a bad feeling. she works through the constant heartache of losing her husband, she said that her husband is still with her.

to wetter times towards wednesday and into thursday. what you see now is fairly tranquil continues and temperatures up and up through the 50s. we've done away with the 20s, 30s, and low-end 40s of yesterday. warmer times lie ahead. a decent day. and cloudy at times. we would love to see more sunshine. mostly cloudy with isolated coastal rain drops at 10%. that is all. a wind shift. increase in moisture leaving the chance of rain at the lower end of the spectrum. by tomorrow we have got some tremendous weather changes. still get the golfing in today, while you can. 70s by 3:00 p.m. we'll have times of clouds and sunshine poking through on occasion. ramped up southern edge of the jet stream is screaming and racing high overhead.

potential for rainfall in the next 24 hours. you can see how it's backed up through mainland mexico, central america. the conveyor belt will deliver a shot of energy beginning to solidify and gel up real nice over the gulf of mexico. wednesday rain, and thursday a continuation. oval we peel back from 90% on wednesday to 70% on thursday. part of thursday we begin to see rapid clearing on the back end of thursday. getting into friday, saturday, and sunday, it'll be delightful, gorgeous out there. we have to get through this mess first. tuesday late in the evening. rain chances slowly beginning to rise. overspreading the area by tomorrow morning. the heaviest, the potential for stronger storms, even a marginal risk of severe weather south of orlando. that's one hot spot. across brevard county.
