isolated, i would call it, but within 20 minutes we'll begin to see this move into orlando. center of town. and move move over to the other side. working towards eastern orange county. bottom line, it'll be a wet day. some progress, through the low to mid-60s. hitting near 70 or so for a high. this goes all day long, all day strong. and we have a high rain chance tonight. tomorrow we peel back the chances and bring in very, very nice weather for us. bright sunshine, and highs near 75 as we head towards monday. drive traffic. we have a slew of issues.

another one at i-4 westbound, par street, to the north of that we have an accident at fairbanks. it's a wet one, so you know that i-4 will be lighting up with all kinds of crashes and such going through the comorng commute. the commute is heating up. the rain falling. roadways are slick. keeping you live and up-to-date all morning long. it's 6:03. the search continues for a little boy missing and feared endangered. we've been telling you about this for three days now. he disappeared last week. fox 35 jackie orozco has the latest. they believe he was with his mom. the mom helped the boyfriend escape from a work detail? >> reporter: that's right. they issued a statewide amber alert so everything has changed.

the 3-year-old is with his mom and an escaped prisoner. tammy and other family members have passed out flyers hoping that someone has seen her 3-year-old grandson. >> we wanted to bring awareness to bring my grandson home. >> we have been handing them out and posting. >> reporter: her grandson was last seen in daytona beach. >> he's 10 lovable. if you see his little face. i lob love him. and i want him home. >> reporter: her daughter is on the run with her boyfriend. her boyfriend cut off his ankle monitor and the three have not been seen since. >> the reason he is listed as missing and possibly endangered

escape and the fact that he's in the company of an escaped prisoner, he's on the run, alluding capture right now. it's cause for concern. >> reporter: they said that he is a convicted robber and serving an eight-year sentence. he's want on charges of escape, destruction of electronic monitor and criminal mischief hf the mother is also facing charges. eujl31 is the tag number. blonde hair, hazel ieks he is 3 feet tall, weighs about 35 pounds. if you see him, you are asked to call authorities immediately. reporting live here in volusia county jackie orozco, fox 35 news.

missing child alert for these two kids from indian river county. a 10 month old and a 3-year-old. they may be with their parents. gamez is wanted in connection with a deadly shooting that happened last week. if you see them, you are asked to call police right away. >> john: around 11:30 last night at park common commons drive. a man confronted who two. and the suspects drove away and not yet been fou >> john: two deputies recovering after investigators said they were being beaten by a suspect. ryan elijah has details on how this ul unfolded. >> reporter: the sheriff is upset about this. pineapple avenue in mims. the sheriff's office said they

a man and his girlfriend were fighting. deputies tried to separate the two, and then the attack happened. skylar pulled out a baton. and started to hit the officer. both officers brought to the hospital and are expected to make a recovery. >> it frustrates me. knowing they went there to try to help somebody and that person turns on them too. >> reporter: deputies arrested francis along with his girlfriend, courtney johnson. they are both charged. an elderly man injured when a linx van was carjacked.

house in altamonte springs. the 80-year-old was being picked up for his dialysis appointment. the driver was helping him and then a man took off. he was not buckled in. and injured his head and his hip. >> his heart is not up to par. if they can't do the surgery, he'll be in a wheelchair permanently. if he's in there permanently, that's going to kill him. >> he's being held without bond. the daytona international speedway will . the new stadium is nearly a mile long. 150 feet for the top row of seats. high enough to see the ocean from the stadium.

running dispute over public land in the west. neither the fbi or the oregon state police are releasing details on what sparked the gunfire. mayor of new york has issued a travel advisory. here's a live look at times square. it's been fine there. it looks a little wet. that's about it. you can see it's definitely starting to improve. temperatures dropped below freezing and all of the melted snow is turning into black ice which is pretty dangerous. saturday's blizzard was the second biggest in new york city's history with nearly 27 inches of snow falling in central park. it's not the snow but the rain around here. >> jayme: and quite a few inches developing when it's all said and done. it's pouring down sheets right now. a.m. and p.m. rain at the bus stop scene.

kids come home. right now another wave of very heavy rainfall. tremendous rain. 1 to 2-inch per hour stuff. we trace back to tampa where is originated. and around the i-4 corridor and exit towards coastal flagler and much of volusia. it's a safe bet. you have heavy duty rain on the way. affecting orlando now. the rainfall rates are increasing. we hear it on the roof torntion we're here? on the rooftops. we're in seminole. and this suggests very heavy rainfall. that's the case going through the day time hours today, and tonight, and for a good portion of our thursday. we're in the 60s area wide. rain likely. isolated storms heading through the afternoon hours.

northerly winds at 5 to 10 miles per hour. and this is the next area that gulf of mexico. peeling our way by the afternoon. this enhances the rainfall, and the overall coverage. the vast a jortd of us, 90 to 100% of us seeing the rainfall approximately -- the vast majority. we see lulls and slowing of rainfall rate by around 8:00 p.m. tonight. and another wave comes coursing through. while it looks like we're clearing, not out of the woods yet. for our thursday, a pretty good batch of brain coming in behind the front. and commencing into late thursday and friday, we peel back the clouds and paving the way for gorgeous weekend weather.

rain amounts. south and east of metro orlando. lesser amounts in tbaimplets and ocala. a nice pocket of 1 to 3 inches from orlando north. this may be one of the wettest january, in the record books. we have 70s today. north and south, east and west. periods of rainfall streaming through. very high rain chances. for tonight we see our moments of rainfall going strong. 50s up north. a couple 50s along the coastal flagler area. very nice weather. sunday, monday, and tuesday. and making an approach to 80 degrees by tuesday. hopefully, that forecast will hold. i need a bit of warmer weather. and i think most of you will agree with that sentiment.

we have an accident i-4 westbound at par. and at fairbanks at exit 80. and 528, an accident there at exit 16 at the toll road, 417. and last stop, right there at the airport there. fuqua boulevard. we'll monitor that and see what's going on there. lots of wet roads, so plan accordingly. rouse road to downtown, putting you pack about 10 minutes. $1.65 for the regular at speedway at turkey lake road in orlando. and the kwik mart, $1.66 at south bumby in orlando.

plans in motion for the next school year. we spoke to parents at last night's meeting who said they're against uniforms. >> i don't think it's appropriate. it's a public school. private school is different. public schools should be the choice of what our children wear. >> we're from osteen, a lot of kids are on free and reduced lunch. if they're on free and reduced lunch, obviously, they're not going to be able to put out hundreds of dollars to get brand new clothes and there's no hand me downs because this is new. >> reporter: supporters argue it could make school safer because staff could spot those that are not supposed to be on campus and would stop bullying. the board has yet to schedule a new date for the vote. we asked you on twitter if school uniforms should be required.

and orlando. starting to get into the southern and southeastern edge of the gainesville metro area. around the uf campus and areas south of that. a little lighter up to alachua county. the heavy thick stuff, we've traced and tracked up through apopka. and lake mary, and oviedo. inundated and that continues eastbound to coastal volusia, and flagler, and all of brevard. inundated with sheets of rain. a.m. and p.m. rain at the bus stop this morning and in the afternoon. 60s pretty much. you can see we're squashed down now, so to speak. closer to 70. you head down to the shores of melbourne, through melbourne beach. and rain likely and isolated storms. a quick flash of lightning. outside of that, i am not looking for anything i call severe. nothing like the last two systems i saw blowing through

>> amy: 6:42. happening this morning. we're waiting to hear in investigators will charge a wrong way driver in orange county. >> john: that driver caused a crash before ultimately being stopped. on state road 528. 78-year-old arnold wiggum drove his pickup eight miles in the wrong direction. two other cars crashed into each other trying to avoid the pickup. no one was seriously hurt.

procedures to make sure it's not going to happen again. this is not the first time something like this happened. american airlines made the exact same slip up back in november. the last headline from the new york daily news. this one reads washington teen needs 48 stitches in his head after attempting a dangerous duct tape challenge. take a look at him. they had to shave his head. it looks like it really hurts. this is all over the internet now. teens wrap themselves up with duct tape and trying to escape. he said that he had done it plenty of times before. he fell when he was trying to break tbree and hit his head on the concrete. crushed his left eye socket and needed 48 stitches. he said he doesn't remember much from that day but hopes that others learn from his mistake.
