15 15 miles an hour. moving on now, you can see here over the gulf of mexico what's playing out. right here reloading with batch number two, and there's going to be batch three, four and five as we go through the day. a bit of a lull on the tag end of this thing and then more refiring over the southern and southeastern gulf, and no surprise in close vicinity and proximity to the boundary if low pressure center that will begin to move through the region. well have our distinct moments rain, a little bit of a lull, things get quiet and we see it come rushing back again. keep the umbrellas handy. 60s at this time, close to 70 had in melbourne, rain likely, isolated storms. we could see a little bit of thunder through the course of the day. storm prediction center outlined our jeff recall area with a marginal risk of severe weather.

prisoner and also suspected to be armed and dangerous. family members passed out flyers hoping someone has seen her 3-year-old grandson, xander quigley. >> we wanted to come to daytona to pass out flyers and bring awareness to bring my grandson home. >> we posted walls in the bathrooms. if we see someone passing by we'll hand it to them. >> reporter: tammy traveled from philadelphia to daytona beach where her grandson was last seen. >> he's so loveable. if you see his face i love him and i want him home. >> reporter: the boy's mother natasha quigley is on the run with her son and boyfriend gary bullock junior. deputies say he escaped from the work release program after he cut off the ankle monitor. the three haven't been seen since. >> the reason that he's listed as missing and possibly endanger

of the escape and the fact that he's in the company of an escaped prisoner, who is on the run, eluding capture right now. >> reporter: the sheriffs deputies say bullock is a convicted robber. he's wanted on charges of escape, destruction of an electronic monitor, and criminal mischief. the boy's mother natasha quigley is facing charges of aiding an escapee. investigators say the last -- they were last seen in a white 2010 chevy cobalt with floor tag eujl 31. the little boy has blond hair, hazel eyes. he's three feet tall and weighs about 35 pounds. if you have seen any of them, you're asked to call authorities. for now reporting live near volucia county. >> amy: thank you. also new this morning orange county deputies say a man was shot while trying to catch burglars breaking into his car.

night in the lake nona area. deputies say the victim confronted two men trying to break into his car and he chased after them and that's when he was shot. the victim is expected to survive. the suspects drove off. they have not been found. >> john: two brevard county deputies recovering after being beaten by a suspect. this happened yesterday morning at a home on pineapple avenue. deputies were called to the home because a man and his girlfriend were fighting. the deputies tried to separate them and that's when the man apparently attacked the officers. investigators say skylar francis pulled out a collapsible baton and beat the deputies. we have mike hriciso and deputy skinner. she was hit in the head as she tried to help out. francis is now charged with two counts of attempted murder of law enforcement officer. johnson is charged with resisting arrest without violence. both deputies are expected to make a full recovery. daytona beach city leaders are meeting today to talk about

this comes as leaders in volucia county say they will keep the administration center open. 80 to 100 homeless people have been camped outside the building for a couple weeks. many say they want manatee island park opened up because it has bathrooms. that park was shut down by the city after the bathrooms were recently vandalized. the bathrooms have been fixed but the park is being open for only special events. city and county leaders meet again next friday to address that problem. >> amy: the school board is delaying the final vote on school uniforms. >> john: good morning, ryan. >> reporter: after listening to parent's concerns the board decided they would had jeans to the proposed dress code, so that has delayed things. they planned on requiring students k through 12 to wear a button down shirt with khaki pants, skirts or jumpers but now with the addition of jeans they are going to have to meet one more time before putting the plans into motion before next school year. we spoke to a number of parents,

against the uniforms. >> i don't think it's appropriate. it's a public school. private school is different. this is public school. should be choice of what our children where. >> we're from -- i know there is a lot of kids on free or reduced lunch. if they're on free and reduced lunch obviously they're not going to be able to put out hundreds of dollars to get brand-new clothes and there's no hand-me-downs right now because this is new. >> john: supporters argue it would make it easier for staff to spot people who are not supposed to be on campus and help against bullying. there is arguments it doesn't cost as much once you get the uniforms, you don't have to go school shopping. we asked you on twitter and facebook, as well, is there uniform policy a good idea? you can log in on our facebook, weigh in on twitter. 30% of you said yes, it is a good deal which means 70% say they are against it. john, amy. >> amy: all right.

is heavier rain over into volucia county, getting ready to get into daytona beach shores, daytona beach, even over manned and or manned by the ski and we'll go up into hammock beach with some of this stuff. you see there, look off to the south of tampa there. talking about this stuff that is loading up right about here. modeling has been suggesting this, and keep in mind when we look at a computer model forecast gives you a lay of the land of what we may expect over the course of 24 to 72 hours. this has been locked onto this rain event now for days on end. so it's kind of cool to see it coming to fruition, but as we look at it, as a danger to the

slippery roads, and excessive rainfall, even severe weather in some spots we could do without. but again, beneficial rain for a lot of us this morning. you can see here more of a textured look to the water vapor, flashes of green showing us the area of energy, cluster and ball of energy now that will race on top of us as the low begins to move into the interior, reaching the west coast beaches and skirting off to the north andest a. temperatures now in the 60s, 71 at this hour. in the city of melbourne, we look at the day ahead, rain likely a few isolated storms. you might see a flash of lightning and hear thunder. not looking for anything too aggressive, maybe towards about the noon hour winds get guttier with some of these cells as they move across. rain likely, surprise, surprise, probably not for late tonight, through the early morning hours of thursday. we'll have some distinct breaks but don't let your guard down as the stuff will literally reload the atmosphere to the south and west and continue. you can see the modeling waves

>> john: waiting to here if investigators will charge a wrong way driver in orange county. >> amy: that driver caused a crash before he finally came to a stop. that. worse. much worse. that is the one thing you take away from that. this happened during rush hour, a 78-year-old man, according to fhp driving his eight miles in the wrong direction, and two other cars crashed into each other but that's it. up. no one was injured. that is the amazing part of this, eight miles going the wrong way. maitland police are investigating a bomb threat that played out yesterday at jewish community center in maitland. they got a threatening call yesterday. everyone evacuated, about 300 people including young toddlers. no danger was found, but certainly a -- made for a rough scene in maitland yesterday. orlando firefighter will not serve any jail time after he's accused of crashing into 18 parked vehicles while he was drunk. the orlando sentinel reporting

i-4 downtown was a mess earlier. the 417 had a bad crash. we got a bad crash. the weather is just causing lots of problems. >> john: it's bad out there. a whole new group of fraudsters for 2016, and a busy year means you need to be on the defensive. >> amy: a new list was published of new scams. >> reporter: last year a law went into effect that allows debt collectors to use robocalling to contact you so now, of course, scammers are trying to take advantage of that. first off, experts say they expect to see a spike in scammers targeting you about overdue student loans and mortgage debt. never trust a number you do not recognize. if you're asked to pay money tell them you want to pay in thereof fess. next up, political scammers, scammers are using robocalling to pose as campaign officials seeking donations.
