convention >> amy: welcome back, 9:13. breaking news out of california, right now. this is the suburb of los angeles, a huge fire at the commercial building, we're told there are propane tanks inside. and that is causing quite the fire. no injuries thankfully at this point. that is good news, 6:00 a.m. there in california, three hours behind us and definitely throughout the day. when it comes to heart attacks women have it worse off than men, the american heart association says from symptoms to risk factors and outcomes differs between men and women. and, in today's health living, sponsored by florida hospital, a doctor joins us with more
9:12 am
great to see us again. let's start with why is heart disease often misdiagnosed or underdiagnosed in women? >> we are starting to recognize that the gender differences are leading us to differences in symptoms, and, the differences in symptoms could be not the typical, which is usually chest tightness with activity but many times, a typical shoulder pain, arm pain, jaw pain, and things that are not typical in terms of their presentation. >> amy: okay. so as a a woman, what should i look for, signs, other than my family history. because i know that is important? wrong. >> typically, a symptom or nuance of a system that cannot be explained by a muscular pull or strain, something that seems to just not feel right or seem right i think is worthy of further evaluation and then, further testing. >> amy: what about you a heart attack. when a woman has a heart attack
9:13 am
a man does. >> oftentimes it's not as well, but it can be. it could be shoulder, scalp collar pain, left jaw or shoulder pain and could be all sorts of -- a broad spectrum of symptoms and not everything fits into one box but you have to put the symptoms in with other findings to make a diagnosis. >> do you find, women are so much more likely to kind of brush off their symptoms? i remember reading an article about rosie o'donnell when she had the heart attack and thought i must be tired and went and laid down. and you say, it could have turned out worse. do you think we tend to brush things off more? >> right, we live in a busy, active society, women in our society are more burdened now with raising families and working outside the home with 2 and 3 jobs at times and we are physically tired or exhausted and many times tend to blow it off as being fatigued or tired and it could be something else. >> you have to call your doctor or even, i would say, even go to the emergency room if you are really concerned. right?
9:14 am
followups, and routine check-ups and you have to know your body well when it doesn't feel right you have to go forward. and seek help. >> amy: taking care of yourself. okay, the doctor will stick around and answer your questions this morning. so, if you have question for him, go to our web site, it is easy to do, www.fox35orlando.com. www.fox35orlando.com/health and post your question and we'll check in with him at the end of the show. happy heart health month. 9:17. let's check in with jayme. >> jayme: thank you. how low do they go, your morning temps now, bottomed out at 60, orlando 47. alachua county, gainesville, and south of that. the blend of 50s and 60s. where do we stand now? a heck of a lot warmer and the atmosphere wasting into time and capitalizing on a little extra sunshine on the day-to-day. looking good. again, we have the dense, thick veil, canopy of cloud cover on top of the states.
9:15 am
moments, it was a little cool and dreary at times and you can see breaking it up, a disturbance moving east of the bahama chain, and gathering all of the cloud cover. we'll see later cloud cover and have our moment today, high clouds overspreading the area and looks like a day where you see more sunshine and warmer temperatures, talking about a high close to 80 degrees today. by 2:00, at 78, passing clouds, warm and dry. for the entire day. also for tonight, staying dry and look at the beach scene now, canaveral. looking good on the beach front. 67, very light east-southeast win at 2. and the ocean looks like a mirror with a few ripples on it. a good indicator, i like to see that, if you have ambition, to do offshore fishing today. or evan joy the atlantic ocean. seas are flat and comprised of a long period swell, and seas, 2-3
9:16 am
night and freshening some for the afternoon and outside of that, winds are looking good and, seas are looking flat and dry skies and showers offshore and if you were heading offshore you are long gone and i'm speaking to nobody and we like to get out and about. and, i'm talking about fishermen -- she's listening. john is listening. >> a bobber? >> use a bobber? no. tuesday and wednesday, chance of rain climbs again, a disturbance over the desert south and west and will enhance the rain chances by wednesday and thursday. and back down we go, by friday. do you use a bobber? cute, john! >> amy: what is wrong with using a bobber? >> jayme: i don't have time to dissect that. i'll answer in the break! here's your 7 day. we'll talk soon. over to you, mr. bobber. >> john: you don't use a bobber in the ocean? >> amy: how will you know if you have a bite?
