>> john: 70 degrees at 9:12 in the morning. good start to the day. i don't think -- somebody said it is too warm, too early. i dare to disagree! >> amy: it will change! >> john: all right, for many of us, february is a time for our new year's resolution and they fall apart! mine is this sit behind you. but there are simple truths to help get those resolutions back on track. look at that. we match today! and steve noviello joins us live
9:12 am
us how to get back on track! we need help, steve. >> i hear you need help finding a new year's resolution. you didn't have one this year. >> amy: i'm very lazy. >> yes. not only can you get back on track but we can make it the restart of the new year as well. it is february and you think i didn't get around to it. maybe i'll try next year. no! it is not too late. the first thing i want you to do is start with a specific goal. weight loss or saving money or exercising, whatever it is be specific. the more specific your goal the more likely you are to achieve it and it is about making a plan, how many pounds will i lose and how much money will i save? how much more time will i spend with the kids? you must have a plan after your specific goal because we talked before on the show. a plan is called a wish and that is not what we're looking for. >> amy: and you are talking
9:13 am
dream big but think small and otherwise you overwhelm yourselves, right? >> and the other thing we fall into, i have all the time in the world, like when i do financial planning and they say i need to save $100,000 for my kid to go to college and they are just born and i have 18 years to do it. i'll do it tomorrow. next think you know it is 17 years later and you are scrambling. same with the resolution, right? instead of saying i'll save $500 between now and christmas, make it easier and say i'll save $20 a week between now and december and see how it goes. i'll lose two pounds a week. not a dress size by the time memorial day gets here. that way two things happen, first a much easier and more attainable goal and because you'll be rewarded with incremental success the chance of being inspired by your own success to keep on getting more success, greatly increases. >> amy: i like that. this is interesting, too, failure?
9:14 am
i like -- actually like the diet plans that say, you get a cheat day, you i think that helps you to get through it. >> they say that if your goal becomes more valuable than your temptation you will reach the goal but, on some days the chocolate cake looks a heck of a lot better than i picture myself looking in a swimsuit on the beach, and sometimes i have chocolate cake. it will happen, folks but here's the deal. it can happen once in that forever. don't let failure derail your plan and understand, look, this moments. i may fail, as opposed to, taking the failure and letting it completely scrap your entire plan. i want you to find the teachable moment in the failure. what was it about the week i couldn't save the $20? what was it about the weak i couldn't get to the gym? understand where your weakness are and they may become
9:15 am
ways to do that is let somebody else know about your plan, be accountable to somebody other than yourself because let's be honest if you tell everybody on the block you will lose 20 pounds and you gain 15, shame! may be your best motor variety! motivator. >> amy: terrible but i like it! you are good. thank you. >> good to see you. >> amy: take care, talk to you soon. 9:16. going from steve in dallas to jayme in the weather center. >> jayme: temperatures now in the 70s. looks like a nice afternoon. if you like it warm. as we approach record high temperatures. mainly for orlando, looking for 84 for a high, record is 86. goes back to 2014. not longstanding. a couple of years. 70s now, again all locations, down south, east and west. a warm morning, one of the causes is the approach of the

9:17 am
kick off the weekend. friday looks good. saturday and sunday up for debate now. bring back semblance of a rain chance, cooler temperatures by sunday. the rain again playing out, model forecast shows just about everybody seeing raindrops, some again could be heavy and as far as the risk of severe weather, not seeing it. the accumulation process here looking for the heaviest amounts never north central florida and exponentially farther south, lesser chances for heavier rain toward far south florida. rainy tomorrow and not friday and back at it again, 40%, saturday and sunday. that's your forecast. over to you. >> time for your cool school of the week. >> john: we're in seminole county to check out how cool winter springs high school is. they have the coolest high school. >> it is beautiful!
