right? you can't relax, you have work to do. >> jayme: i haven't relaxed since i walked in the door at 3:00 a.m. john will relax -- good luck, buddy! accu-weather forecast update. we have clouds increasing and the rain chances will rise as we close in now on mid and late morning for north central florida. looks like more of an afternoon-type deal here in the central portions of the state and farther south, we'll continue to see later arrival time and the front slowing down and the rain chances will begin to rise, 60s and 70s and here's what i'm talking about. tracking -- i wouldn't call it aggressive but certainly pockets of heavy rain and a few bolts of lightning and thunder reported east of tallahassee, and toward the big bend region. this thing is coming on down. and looks like wetter times ahead, central florida. prepare. what i have done, a chance of rain, a chance by 11:00 a.m but it rises through late

5:00 goes strong in a lot of areas, 72 for the drive home, right around 5:00. modeling showing us the frog progress as it moves into the central portion of the state and will be with us overnight and by tomorrow, sunshine returns and will be cooler and a breezy day for us, again our 7-day forecast showing us just that. here it is for you. coming up and, again, no chance of rain tomorrow but the weekend offers rain chance and we'll straight ahead. everybody. i have a couple of new things to tell you about, first we have a new crash on the road. conway and michigan street and you can see significant delays, use caution and be aware if you are there this morning and i want to tell you about something else, not far away, something in the road at colonial and goldenrod causing serious delays there. no word, due to a crash. but be aware if you are driving in that area. looking now at your drive times,

from lake mary to colonial, 25 minutes, and i-4 eastbound from the attacks to downtown, take you 24 minutes. and, on the 408, the 417 to downtown, takes you 14 minutes. that's it for your live drive traffic. back to you. >> john: developing story in marion county today. a deputy recovering after being shot in the leg. >> amy: a suspect opened fire after deputies responded to a gas station. it happened at the kangaroo marathon station. on northeast 20th street. fox 35's jackie orozco has been live there all morning and brings us the latest now. good morning. >> reporter: good morning, guys. be okay. he was the one shot in the leg. while the suspect which deputies have not released his name, in critical condition at the times. let's look at videos, and you can see the massive deputy presence last night, it happened 7:00 when marion county sheriffs office received a 911 call,

the parked car at the kangaroo marathon gas station. with multiple guns. when deputies arrived they say the gunman, a white male came out of the car with two guns in his hands and the man pointed a gun to his head and tried negotiating with him and the man pointed the other gun at deputies and started shooting. deputies returned fire hitting the man several times and during that exchange when the sergeant was shot in the leg. now, we have been talking to neighbors here and they said they just heard loud noises, and some of the gunfire going around here as well. and last night had the entire intersection, all lanes blocked off, working with the sheriffs office, and, trying to see if there was surveillance video, and if they do, we'll let you know. jackie orozco, fox 35 news. >> amy: thank you. a news alert. governor rick scott is planning to address the zika virus threat today after he declared a health

the governor declared that state health emergency after at least nine cases of the virus were found in those counties. the counties include miami-dade, lee, hillsborough and santa rosa. all nine cases were detected and the governor's order allows the state agricultural department to use mosquito spray in those counties and also directs the florida department of health to make its own decisions about what is necessary from the state and the cdc. the zika virus is primarily spread through mosquitoes. doctors believe it can cause birth defects in babies, if a pregnant woman becomes infected. it has no cure and there is no known vaccine which is why prevention at this stage of the game is important. tess us more. >> we have all the ingredients that makes the virus able to spread in our community and we have to be smart. what the governor is trying to do is stay ahead of this virus. >> amy: all nine cases in

traveling outside of the u.s. and other affected countries. the governor will be holding the news conference this afternoon in tampa at 1:30 to discuss the state's current and future plans to fight the virus. >> john: in seminole county the of jail. allen davis was arrested yesterday. he made news over the past few years for having more than 30 tons of trash in his yard. last september the code enforcement unit led a cleanup effort at his home and yesterday deputies booked the 61-year-old on felony littering and misdemeanor nuisance charges. also a man from orange county will not face charges for a deadly fire that killed a child. investigators say he used gas to start the fire at his home in oakland, last july and the five-year-old stepson died in the fire and three-year-old son also injured. but the state attorneys office says they will not be prosecuted because there's a lack of evidence. >> amy: brevard county witnesses

shooting that injured three people in cocoa. it happened yesterday at the ttc tax refund business. right off of south clear lake road. here's video. deputies say two men were shot inside the office as they struggled over a gun. investigators say bullets went through a wall. where the owner of the pawn shop next-door was grazed by a bullet and deputies say one of those men is now in critical condition and no arrests have been made so far. >> john: in volusia county, we expect to hear more tonight about the datona beach homeless problem. that will happen during the state of the county address today. the issue came to a boiling point earlier this week when datona beach police broke up the homeless camp set up outside of now the county is committing $4 million to build safe harbor. a 250-bed facility to temporarily house the homeless. though the county offered to help fund the project, it is the city's responsibility to find the money to operate that facility. >> coming up, you have heard rumors that the super bowl will

living at the ecuadorean embassy in london for four years trying to avoid extradition to sweden for a rape case. the u.n. says it will rule whether or not the embassy can legally hold him if they rule against him. assange will then turn himself in to police tomorrow. >> john: next name is peyton manning. in time for super bowl sunday, the broncos quarterback had bad news to share with fans. he says the doctor told him that he needs hip replacement surgery in the coming years. he admits he didn't really know, you know, much about it, and didn't think he'd have it at an early age but now, that he does know, he'll take on the future surgery as best he can. the game. >> amy: yes, you don't want area. musk. the tesla executive personally cancelling an order for what he calls -- from what he calls a rude customer.

like the early and mid-afternoon, i'm thinking and certainly the drive home for us here in orlando metro. 72 for that time at 5:00 and maybe a little cooler as the quick onset of clouds and rain will be evident. again, model forecast shows us by 4:00 or 5:00, rain overspreads and clearing things out, very, very, very late tonight and very early tomorrow morning, we're turning to mostly sunny conditions for much of our friday and late in the day, winds align northeasterly and we begin to see coastal clouds and a few coastal showers set up. so, that is how it will play out, i think the weekend, also, especially saturday offering up some semblance of a slight rain chance, anywhere from 30 to 40% and virtually no chance of rain on sunday. the cool day for our super sunday. as we watch the big game. 57 at 2:00 a.m., and 5:00 a.m. temps 52 and 48 by 8:00 tomorrow. when we see a clear type forecast developing, through your friday and into saturday and sunday.

on the back side of low pressure next week. looks like that reflects a high in the 60s and ample sun expected monday and no chance of rain and high by that time, 64. that's your forecast. good morning to you. >> gina: happy thursday. going to give you a live look at i-4 westbound, east of the 434, we do have a crash, emergency vehicles blocking the right lane and backup there, and be aware of that, use caution if you are taking i-4 westbound today. i have a couple of updates on earlier crashes, the first one here on good holmes and colonial, the road is partially blocked, causing delays. on colonial and moving down to the other crash on central florida parkway, satellite boulevard, the road is also partially blocked. causing delays there. be aware of the crashes and use caution. i-4 looking okay. i-4 westbound from lake mary to colonial, 31 minutes, i-4 eastbound from the attractions to downtown, takes you 21 minutes and the 408 is looking okay.

>> we're looking for a motive. why someone would want to kill him, shoot him or did anybody talk to anybody? see anything that night? so the reward is enhanced up to $10,000 by a third-party and i encourage anybody who knows anything whether motive or a witness name, heard something, please call crime line and it might help the winter garden police department solve it. >> ryan: we talked during the break, your initial thought goes to an argument. but you haven't heard any of that at this point. it has been two weeks, it moofb a motive? -- might have been a motive. >> we have no motive other than the gentleman was in his driveway. >> when you look for a tip, what -- you hit on a couple. maybe it makes a big difference and this is the victim on your screen. >> it's not unusual for people involved in the cases to tell somebody something or you heard third-party, we'll take all the information, law enforcement will sift through it to see what is of value and again, motive.

and you can see a little bit of backup there. nothing too major. no word of any roadblocks there, taking you now to your drive times, i-4 westbound, is still slow, lake mary to colonial, 36 minutes right now because of the crash. i-4 eastbound from the attractions to downtown, only takes 20 minutes and the 408 from the 417 to downtown, will take you about 15 minutes, now that is it for live drive traffic. back to you. >> john: a deputy is recovering after he's shot in the leg during a shootout you, a suspect opened fire and deputies responded to a gas station in ocala. it happened last night at the kangaroo marathon station on knot east 20th street. fox 35's jackie orozco is joining us live in ocala with what duties are saying happened out there. good morning. >> reporter: that is where we have been spending the morning. speaking with an eyewitness, several businesses here across the street from the kangaroo gas station, and, that witness did

gave us exclusive video and you can see the man is pointing a gun to his head and when deputies responded and they told him multiple times to put the gun down. but according to the sheriffs office he refused. and, they are working on the video to see that. later in the newscast and the call came in 7:00 last night. and talking about a man parked at the gas station with multiple guns, now, after -- deputies say he refused to put the gun downed and pointed the gun to deputies and that he fired first and that is when deputies returned fire. now, according to witnesses they said they heard at least 25 to 30 gun shots. during the exchange, this suspect, which he has not been named yet, was shot multiple times. and is in critical condition. and a deputy sergeant dan trammell, he was shot in the leg, the only deputy injured

with a neighbor earlier and this is what she said. >> i'm going to start locking my doors. it is very, very scary. it really is. i never figured anything like that could happen around here. >> reporter: now, again we spoke with another witness and he was the one that was right across the street from the gas station and gave us that video, which again we're working on so you will be able to see it in the 9 o'clock hour, reporting live, genesee county jackie orozco, fox 35 news. >> john: a man dressed up as a superhero is a robbery suspect. >> amy: and he's dressed up as batman. the story tops the morning rush. deputies say that he robbed the dollar general store on north cimarron boulevard and a half-hour later a person with a similar description targeted the dollar general store on south golden rod. if you know of anyone with an outfit like that, you may want

>> john: the lake county sheriffs office is now identifying the body found in the backyard of a home in poisely two weeks ago. dennis jones. he's the owner of the home on pennsylvania street. deputies think his body had been in the yard since at least late november. this investigation into the cause of his death continues. >> cocoa police are looking for car burglars, a homeowner's security camera recorded the video in a neighborhood in north cocoa. police say one of the suspects can be seen opening up the unlocked car door and rummaging through to vehicle before they left with two other suspects. >> and how about this, a rare sighting in lake county. two gentle sea cows were attracting crowds in houston. >> john: they are hanging out in lake trout. andrea jackson is there to show us. normally it wouldn't be a story. it is interesting. how did they get into the lake? it is a mystery. >> yeah, it is complicated. not an easy task, for sure. lake trout is a gorgeous lake, this is really a slice of heaven, this small community and

doesn't have a lot of boat traffic, good for the monte and a lot of sea vegetation and conditions are perfect for the manatee. >> as far as i've heard. there has never been one in trout lake before and is the first time in recent history it happened. they can't easily access the lake system. >> reporter: the manatee has no name but el nino could be a reason it made its way through impossible channels to arrive in trout lake. >> our water temperatures drop too low they head towards the spring where there are warmer waters to hang out and so far they must find a site with the cool weather, from what we tell they are fairly healthy and not exhibiting signs of cold stress or angle ything like that. >> reporter: they arrived through a chain of locks and will likely need assistance on the way out. >> with the high waters last summer, when they came in with

but i don't know if the locks are opened or closed, how easily they can get out. >> not an easy task. rick good man shot the manatee video. good morning. you had a chance to see the manatee? what did you think. >> it was up close and personal. it was big. quiet. gentle. came within one foot of the side of my boat and i was sitting and he came toward me and around me and he made a brief run into trout lake from the canal on the far side and made a loop into the canal and seems to be hanging out there now. >> reporter: it is exciting. you don't normally get manatee here. >> as far as i know it's the first sighting of a manatee in trout lake. >> reporter: and we understand it sound like he made his way through a number of channels and locks to get here. >> he had to do that somehow. nobody knows where he came from or how he did it but he's here.
