monitoring them is make sure that both stay away from them. the whales are very sensitive to sound and so the sound of the boats can be upsetting to them and disorient them and stress them out, for lack of a better term. so that's one of the things that they'll be doing here today. they'll probably monitor by air again, i'm told. but really at this point, they're going to wait and see if the whales go back back to the ocean on their own. they say generally they give them two days to see what they're going to do. meanwhile, the biologists are talking about what they can do if the whales don't go back to the ocean. the inlet is closed, both because of rough waters and because the whales are here now. and it's a wait and see type situation for wildlife officials for people who have gathered here at the inlet, it's just an

no rain with it and for the foreseeable future, looking dry. up, down and all around continues right here. full forecast coming up in ten minutes. happy tuesday, everybody. sky fox over that crash we have on i-4 eastbound here at kirkman road. you can see quite a few vehicles involved there. still have a left lane blocked but the good news is traffic is moving pretty smoothly and not backed up too far back. that's the good news. however, quite a few crashes on other roads this morning. this first one i want to tell you about here, no road block, not causing any significant delays. there's good news there. over on the 417, we actually have back to back crashes, the first on lee, this is the second one at curry ford road, causing there. so just be aware of that, definitely. use caution there this morning. taking a look right now add your short drive times. everything's looking pretty slow, take you about saying minutes.
8:25 am
minutes. but the 408 is looking pretty good. that's if for your live drive back to you. developing out of prevent this morning, something pretty special. florida fish and wildlife is out in sebastian inlet and they're trying to aid a stranded other whale and her calf. all morning. we've been getting a kick out of the images here, dapa. it's gotta be cool where you are and hopefully they're able to >>. >> it is so cool, you guys. we were just talking to a guy who said, there's manatees in here all the time and we're really excited about that. these whales are really something special. and it really, really is very, very rare. for the whales to come into the inlet is incredibly rare. these are endangered right whales. injury some of the largest and most endangered whales that we have mere in florida, a mamma and her baby.
8:26 am
the baby about 18 feet long. here's the thing. fish and wildlife says they know that these are healthy whales. they monitor these whales, they know they're healthy. so there's really no reason for them to be here in the inlet. they don't know why they're doing this. it's a real mystery. the idea was that around 8:00 this morning, fish and wildlife was going to come out, see if the whales were still here, and then see about getting them back out to the ocean because of course the whales first appeared here or first responded here yesterday morning and they spent the day swimming up and back the had inlet. people came out to watch them and the word spread. now what fish and wildlife is telling me is that what they'll do is monitor these whales for a second day. they really are hoping that they will go back out to the ocean on their own. so as they're monitoring them, definitely from the water, possibly with a plane again today. they're going to be making sure that boats stay away from the whales. that's the biggest danger to them at this point, is that
8:27 am
with a boat or get stressed out by the noise of the boats because whales are very sensitive to noise with their sonar and what not. so fish and wildlife is going to spend the rest of the day monitoring these whales. if they don't go back out, they will work with some marine biologists within the agency and some other wildlife agencies to try and develop a pleb for getting them out of here. at this point, is a wait and see and there are mini vans and pick-up trucks and cars pulling inlet. a lot of people will be here to see what those whales do the rest of the day. back to you. >> we got a whale watch on our hands. >> yeah, she's gotta be so cold. it's cold anyway, much less right along the ocean. deputies searching frappe armed robber who may be robberies. >> this is surveillance video inside the kangaroo express near the 408.

along per more and livingston streets. ucf is also hoping to get $20 million in state money. a news alert right now, the white house is asking congress for more than one.. $8 billion in emergency funding and it's all to fight zika. >> that money would cover mosquito control programs and outbreaks and better healthcare for pregnant women. the emergency operation is on a level one status, the highest level, because of the zika outbreak. the cdc has only gone to level 13 other times during the ebola outbreak, the h one n one pandemic, and right after hurricane katrina. president obama is scheduled to submit his 2017 budget to congress later today. coming up, hew jackman with a message for the public. >> what he wants everyone to know about the bandage on his face. >> also, it was on this day on history, 1975 that willy nelson recorded his hit song blue eyes

8:32 am
that's the question this morning. we'll send it out to david martin, joining us live out at mardi gras. anybody know how to play this song on the side co? >> they're playing it right now. >> that's pretty good. nice job, guys. >> andy, what do you think, brother? >> bobby daren. >> bobby daren is the answer from us. >> let's send it over to gina and jayme. what do you guys think? >> i'm gonna say no elvis. i'm gonna eliminate elvis because i feel like i would know that because my dad's a hard core elvis fan. >> let's go with a. >> okay. >> bobby daren.

8:35 am
to get a mole checked out on his nose and turns out he had skin cancer and that picture is after his 5th cancer removal. that's why he's sharing this. it's crazy. he's been battling this since 2013 and he suggests people to get it checked out no matter what. and i thank him for this, because i'm one tanot wear sun screen, but as i get old, i'm learning. he gets his skin checked out every three month and he's tellin what you need to do, especially us living in florida, we're exposed to the sun a lot. >> and when you have fair skin, you're much more susceptible. you gotta be careful of it. good advice. >> is that story here, will smith, every time i see one of the headlines, will smith discusses parenting style. we've heard it so many times now, he's openly discussing it again. what's he saying this time? >> yeah, he's basically discussing how he's dedicateed and he's not like any normal parent. he's a unique parent. and we've heard this multiple
8:36 am
about how he likes to have his kids express themselves. as we know, jaden is now the spokesperson for louie vuton and he does express himself differently than normal teenage boys. so he's saying that as a parent, he doesn't really discipline them. he lets them express themselves and if they fail, they learn from that. so he doesn't really believe in discipline. he just believes in letting them do what they want to do and learning from that. >> wow. >> well, it shows. >> that's his style and you know what, that's not my style. i know that's not your style. >> every parent has the option to do it how they want. >> i know. and i am, when you have money like that and a reputation like that whole family does, it's kind of like how much time -- i'm not saying he doesn't spend time with his kids, but there's gotta be nannies involved l these people.
8:37 am
five years down the road if his kids turn out great or if his kids turn out bad, can you then say, well, your parenting style is messed up? will that be a fair assessment? because good parents turn out bad kids. >> i think hollywood people are on a whole different planet from the rest of us. i don't know how normal people can compare to that. you live in a fish bowl with millions of dollars. >> yeah, exactly. i was thinking that, too. he hangs out with the geners, the kardashians. it's kind of hard to think like normal people in this real world. so it's just like, you know, i don't -- it's a good question. i have no idea. >> it's planet hollywood. >> it really is. >> by the way, didn't you say beaver's coming to town? >> yeah, beaver's coming in june. do you want to go, ray? >> yes, i do, actually. i can't get tickets and i work on a radio station.
8:38 am
>> but i want to go. that won't be weird at all. >> i don't think it's bad parenting. >> you're good. you're good. >> thanks so much. good to see you. >> my parents took us to a bon jovy concert when we were kids. that was risque. here's your temperatures for you right now, your 40s and a couple of spots now registering somewhere in the low 50s. going to be a cool day today, real windy out there. you can see winds now starting to gen up and blossom quite nice. this is the case since early this morning and that will be big weather headlines today. extremely gusty winds and when we factor that in with temperatures only in the mid and upper 50s, we're quite cool today. so just one of those rare days we have around these parts. i call it florida cold, here today, gone tomorrow. this may not be the case. let's explain with our uv index first and foremost, heading down between the moderate and lower range today.
