>> developing right now, we just show odyou florida fish and wildlife, back out in sebastian inlet this morning. they're trying to help a stranded mother whale and her baby. >> we've been live by the inlet all morning long. it's cool to see these, but we hope they get back out where they're supposed to. >> look at all the whale watchers out there, too. it's quite a crowd. >> actually, that's why we actually moved position from the last half hour so you guys could see behind me, you are not inonly whale watchers this morning. however, you get to see people all the time so we're going to put the camera back out there on the water so you can see, this is just about where the mamma whale and her baby have been for the past few hours now. of course, this is day two of what i am now # whale watch at sebastian inlet. the whales made their way in here yesterday morning, swam up
9:05 am
spent most of the day yesterday i'm told further into the inlet and at this point, they seem to be making their way closer to the ocean. that's a good sign. so what they're going to do in monitor the whales for a second day to see if they'll go back out to the ocean on their own. meanwhile, they'll start trying to think about what they'll do if they don't go back out to the ocean. that's the big question at this point that we all have. unfortunately, i don't have an answer for you as to how do you get whales back out to the ocean if they don't seem to want to go. >> the concern here at the inlet is boats. they're trying to keep boats away from them because you don't want the boats to collide with the whales or run in with the whale and injure the whale. these are of course endangered whales, but also they're very sensitive to this sound. so these are north american right whales, some of the largest and most endangered
9:06 am
mom is 45 feet long. the baby is 18 feet long. this is you guys just such a rare, rare sighting here at sebastian inlet. as we've been down here this morning, they've been telling me, we see all kinds of things down here, never really surprised what we see. but these whales really are a treat for people. we're just hoping now that they make it safely back to the ocean on their own. back to you in the studio. >> i could watch that all day. >> i know. it's so cool. so cool. it's beautiful. >> all right. good stuff. thanks, dana, talk to you in just a little bit. happening right now, kissimmee police are doing a safety sweep and they're looking for skimmers. >> police say they've found four devices and andrea jackson is joining us live in kissimmee with more on that. >> good morning to you. we're actually here in the kissimmee police department. they're holding a greeting before we head out with the police department to do the safety sweep. this is the skim where they
9:07 am
this is blue tooth and wifi enabled so all they have to do is pull up to the gas pump. this is inside of that gas pump he or she can download that information, credit card information directly from this skimmer. again, this is the one they found inside the 711 in kissimmee on vine street last thursday. they found four in total, three in the county, one in the city and today they're going to sweep all 28 gas stations within the city limits here in kissimmee. so we're going to follow them as they do that and it's one of those things where we just have to be real cautious. the employee who located that suspected kissimmee device called police immediately and the police department again confiscated this specific wifi blue tooth enabled skimming device inside of that gas pump. so we're going to head on out with this them this morning as they sweep each gas station within the city limits of kissimmee. thanks, aj. 9:07 here on "good day orlando."

2016, the first national primary is now underway. >> plowings candidates have been campaigning in nuchl for month and they're going to find out if all that hard work is paying off. we have new video in of jeb bush meeting with snowy volunteers. a receipt poll shows he's in second place, one point behind donald trump. bush just sounded off about the front runner's attacks on the campaign trail. >> he cannot hijack our party. our party will not win if we're the reactionary party. we'll win if we embrace the reagan escapproach the this. people are hurting and i feel lightening i didn't tell important to stand up to the guy, and i'm the only guy doing it. i'm not sure i volunteered for this role by myself. >> doug live in new hampshire with the very latest on that. so doug, first up, dicksville notch, they cast the first ballots, nine people there. but people put a lot into this because they're first. >>.

republican side and he very quickly put out a press release saying i was one of the few candidates that actually went to dicksville notch. it shows you the degree too much these candidates are almost going door do door here across the state, even chasing after that half of voters in dicksville notch. >> yeah, let's talk about trump very quickly. seems like he's losing a little support there. what's the word on the ground? >> well, ground is everything. the ground game is everything. will trump be able to manage to do what he was not able to do in iowa and that is transilate both to the big rallies into actual voters that will show up in the polls today? he's still favored to win, and if he doesn't win here, it would probably be a disaster for him because he's so heavily favored going into this and you can probably say the same about bernie sanders in the democratic side. he's so far up now, it's hard to imagine him losing to hillary
9:10 am
but a lot of undecided voters at this point. >> look at my breath. i'm definitely outside. >> all right. it looks like a green screen it's so pretty behind you. thanks, man. have a great one. we'll talk to you tomorrow. doesn't it look fake, guys? >> but when you see his breath, that's how you know. so for the latest of course on your campaign coverage, just check out fox 35 orlando.com. you can also download the fox 35 news app. >> florida football has hit a new mile stone and nasa is already rolling out mars tourism posters. >> bryan is here with some of these crazy only in florida stories, as well. this would qualify for sure. a man is behind bars and here's why. officials say he threw a live can you imagine? this happened at the wendy's in royal palm beach in october. wildlife officials say 23 -year-old joshua james seen

hopefully they'll be able to get back out into the ocean where they're supposed to be. valentine's day is coming up this weekend. you might be looking for ways to show someone a little love or maybe little one a lot of love. >> dr. joe is joining us some ideas on how you can show your kids that you love them, long after the candy and the harts are gone for valentine's day. great to see you, dr. joe. how are you? >> you, too. good morning. this is coming out of the american academy of pediatrics. really, very simple things, the things we kind of forget about. they said for valentine's day you might want to get a card for your adolescent or your teen. you could buy something. for your little one, make a card. for the rest of the year, think about all these great things you can do. one of them is have positive -- speak positively to your child. a lot of people have a lot of senses of humor, some sarcasm, some mocking, put dopes. there's no place for your child so avoid those things.
9:16 am
thank you and sorry and please and respect and always say the words i love you to your child. another thing that takes almost no time. but something that does take a little time is to listen to your child. if they come to you, want to speak to you, stop what you're doing, at least for a moment and listen to them. and then they also said if you find that they're kind of in a bad mood, a little grouchy, then just do something simple. maybe a pat on the back or a nod or a hug or a couldm. leave them alone and then you can come back and speak to them later, ask them what's bothering them, and discuss it at that point in time. >> it's basic stuff. for a lot of parents, they hear this stuff and they're like, okay. you know that, but we just had a group here, that said they had numbers on the number of kids who don't hear one positive thing from a family member all month long. they hear none. nothing positive from their parents. >> yeah, and it's really something that's so simple and getting back into the habit of
9:17 am
people get really, really busy and you don't want to be judgmental. but they get busy and they've got lots of kids, lots of activities, work, pressure. it takes a moment to think about these things and they're so easy to do. the other thing it really stressed to try to teach your child healthy behaviors. and we all know sports or walking or playing ball or just doing something with them on a regular basis. they also said as far as meals go, sometimes it's tough when you try to talk to your kid about weight loss and it gets really harry sometimes. what they say instead to do is plan meals with them. try to get them to go shopping with you and maybe even help you cook and i think that there's a lot out there where kids are cooking. i watch master chef junior. it blows me away to see what these kids can do. get them involved in that way and that will give them life long habits that they can depend on. >> great advice for all parents who are also busy. >> 9:18 here on good day. here is jayme king accuweather forecast time.
9:18 am

some of the headlines so far on this tuesday. a royal caribbean cruz ship is now back in new jersey after it fell right into a dangerous storm. rough waves and 100 mile-an-hour winds rock thousands of paermgs on board the royal caribbean anthem of the seas. the passengers recorded video and took to social media to show what was happening on board. we know at least four people were injured. florida senator bill nelson is calling on the ntsc to investigate what happened. >> the thing about this storm was that it was forecast for days. so why in the world with a cruz ship with thousands of passengers go sailing right into it? royal caribbean says that storm was stronger than they expected, but forecasters say they did predict that the storm was going to be a bad one. orlando police are on the hunt for the person who killed two brothers who were@ heading to

but they actually have their interest rates negative and now their 10 -year government bond turned negative for the first time ever. and then you have oil prices continuing to drop. >> let's talk about that. we're talking about the possibility of gas going under a dollar in some states. it doesn't even seem real to me. >> there are eight states right now that have at least one gas station selling gas for $1.25 or less. we're pushing closer to a dollar, but we're not talking about.99 a gallon just yet. but these eight states, if oil prices continue to drop, and more states could have gas closer to a buck, and there is the possibility that we would be paying $0.99 to fill up. the cheapest gas out there is $1.11 and it's at one station in ocala. >> it's hard to wrap your head around that, considering how much we were paying just a few years ago. >> i don't know about you guys, but i'm paying attention. i paid cash.

9:32 am
it is the week of love. enjoy it while you can. >> stay warm up there. we love you, we'll see you later. >> love you, too, bye bye. >> if you'd like to see more of lauren, you can find her at 5:00 in the morning every day. 9:34 right now. jayme king, 49 degrees. the temperature is not going higher. no, and it is going to be a slow rise, pretty slow. that's when i go slow, it's going to be taking its sweet time getting to the highs today, probably mid to upper 50s when it's all said and done. for now, temperatures down. warming has not commenced whatsoever. the winds are there for the story. that's probably the other angle we're taking today. it is the other weather story today, the cool air and the wind on top of that. and now winds are starting to really blossom. these are sustained and i'm looking for repeated high gusts today in excess of 25 or 30 miles per hour with ease. so hang onto those hats.
9:33 am
slowly allotting with the central peninsula now, and that should come coursing through. high clouds, it could obscure the sunshine, make for a little hazy sun or block it out at times. especially north of orlando. it's not an awful day. let's make it clear, just windy and quite cool out there, especially during times of clouds outweighing the sunshine potential. 56 by 2:00, 55 by 5:00 and down to the 40s we go by 7 or 8:00 tonight. by tomorrow, another front will have gone through. by "good day orlando" showtime at 4:30 a.m. tomorrow, temperatures way down to the 30s and low end 40s. about 56 tomorrow for that high and then we slowly come up and right back down again. i'm talking more about that next cold front coming in for the weekend and my full weather forecast. i'll see you in about ten minutes. over to you now. >> thank you, jayme. time to talk deals and steals with the savings angel, josh elliottage. always good to see you. appreciate you being here today.

. equipment's working. welcome back to "good day orlando." we found this song on twitter right now, from politico. did you guys know there are six people on the ballot in new hampshire who are floridians on the republican side alone? frank lynch, marco rubio from west miami, florida, peter mucena, jeb bush, ben carson, west palm beach. i had no idea ben carson was registered down there. and mike huckby, santa rosa beach, florida. i had no idea. so florida dominates the republican side on the ballot today. how about that. i had no clue. and here's jayme king with your accuweather forecast. it's all about florida in the election once again.
9:40 am
let's talk temperatures. 40s and low grade 50s. it is going to be slow going. that's the capital slow. it's going to be a slow one getting upwards of high temperature potential today. that would be the mid to upper 50s. when you factor in the winds, and man, are they blowing up now. a little tamer than they've been. we've been subject now to repeated gusts of 25. it is going to be a winward day for sure. our wind chill factor is slowly factors in, the feels like temperature. feels like 37 up in gainesville, feels like 40s all across portions of lake county, back to interior volusia, daytona beach feeling like 42. last check, palm coast was there, as well. again, lending a bit of proof into the pudding here as we look ahead to a very, very cool day. the warming has been cut off at this time and eventually we'll get upwards of about 56 by 2:00. quite cool and rather windy all day long here in the central peninsula.
9:41 am
