so traffic is not allowed to travel here through kennedy boulevard, the westbound lanes. but there's a little bit of a slow down here with traffic going down on the other side. you know, as they're trying to look and see what all the mess is out here. we have not seen crews come out here to do a clean up. again, this happened since last night, around 7:00 p.m. sthaid this entire section here between johnson street and north college even blocked off. and earlier this morning, an officer opened the eastbound lanes heren kennedy boulevard and again, westbound lanes here are still shut down. we spoke with consummate edecoal who represents this area earlier this morning. this is what he told us. >> we had an incident happen like this this past summer, and we thought it was fixed and however kwooefb another one. and we hope to get it done today. >> and back out here live, we're

8:06 am
they took his cell phone and his backpack. the two then pistol whipped an uber driver. later that night, bel aisle police say they spotted them again driving in a car this time that was involved in a car jacking. the two led police on a chase until they eventually crashed in orlando. the items that belonged to the tourists were found inside the car. so they kind of tied up their case. police took woods and powell into custody. they believe the two are not only involved in that string of events but also behind other robberies, as well. in orange county, students heading back to class after having a scare on campus. >> deputies say this guy had a gun in his backpack. he was arrested yesterday. the school oz put on lock down and the dismissal of classes was each delayed. after school activities were also canceled. deputies are now monitoring social media for any other possible threats. in lake county, we expect the st. paul catholic school in leesburg to reopen today.
8:07 am

. new this morning, an early morning rocket launch in california. the launch conditions were perfect. it was a beautiful launch. it took off around 6:40 this morning. the reason why we say what he said, is because we don't know much about it. it's a top secret mission for the u.s. government. all we know is that it is for national defense. the rocket is carrying a pay load for the national reconnaissance office. >> check this out. facebook is launching a bunch of changes this week. >> some features you'll probably luff love. some others, maybe not. anytime there's changed like this, people are like, i like the old way. luann is here with more on that. >> these are great changes. i'm here with shelly. she has the inside scoop on the changes coming to facebook. good morning, shelly.

how cute is that. 8:00 8:00 tomorrow night, friday night, and saturday night. they have trois shows on sunday, one at 3:00 and another show at 8:00. now, these dogs were rescued. i know 2 -them all from hurricane katrina. and what's the back story on jingles? >> i'm jingles 5th owner. she went through several dog trainers. jingles is a runner. she loves running away and, well, who could blame her. she'd run out of the apartment and i'd chase her down, and i'd be like, yeah, i want to be outside, too. we hit it off. she's the grandma of the show. she's probably 9 or 10. >> one more trick for us? >> ticket prices are very affordable, only $15 per person. again, it's at the venue here in
8:21 am
you can do it, jingles. you can do it. oh, yeah. >> that's cute. >> hey, what's the website, daren? >> chicken dog.net. videos and tickets. >> all right. we'll see you guys in the next hour here on "good day orlando." nice work, guys. very good. >> i don't know how to respond. that is the most bizarre thing. i love it, though. thanks, david. all right. shifting gears, well, it's also a circus. donald trump and bernie sanders celebrating big wins in new hampshire. >> politics really is its own circus. marco rubio and jeb bush try to convince the voters that they are the best person for the job. >> we did not wind up where we wanted to be, but that does not change where we'll wind up at the end of this projec someone who's been tested, and i'm that guy. >> so what is it going to take for them to pull ahead? a local political analyst will
8:22 am
. chilly out there today. a live look down point orlando, wonderful spot here in central florida. it's cold, but i'm sure a lot of people here from up north right now are very, very happy. >> well, it's all relative. >> it certainly is. cold for us. >> welcome back to good day. i'm john brown. >> i'm amy.
8:23 am
a lot to talk about, but first let's get right to jayme. we aren't exactly used to to being this chilly around here. it's cold out there, no doubt about it. let's update you from 3:00 this morning all the way until 9:00. we have another 30 minutes or so on the freeze warning for alachua, marion and flagler county. this is a watch. we'll see another freeze warning, and as you go west of orlando, pretty cold temperatures set up later tonight. that will probably get an upgrade to a null on freeze warning. if you didn't see frost this morning, just on the outskirts of metro orlando, it's likely you're probably going to see it tomorrow morning. winds will be a lot lighter. the air mass will be very still and cold. and that should promote the formation of the frost, crystals on the car. your tender vegetation, all your tropical plants out by the pool and such. i want you to take precautions and bring the pets in, too. the cold search continues, 28 at ocala. still, gainesville up to 36.
8:24 am
generally south of that point. when the wind picks up, we got the feels like factor and it is a chiller out there. for today, very much like yesterday. i think we see more sunshine. we were subject to periods of high clouds pushing through yesterday. today, it's sun breeze and cool temperatures and as soon as that sun sets tonight, it is literally going to drag the temperatures with it as it makes a move to the western horizon. so here we go, tomorrow, a rebound, the 64 although you're better by friday. looking good, guys. 72, a mild, warmish type weekend with sunshine and lows adjusting back to the mid and upper 40s, if not maybe low 50s by sunday morning. happy wednesday, everybody. a couple new crashes to tell you about. bothf them with road blocks. this first one here, blocked at tyler avenue. just pee aware of that if you're in that area this morning. taking a look now out in osceola county. we have this crash road on the 192. partially blocked there, causing pretty significant delays in that area. just be aware. use caution for you're in that
8:25 am
take a look at your drive times, i-4 looking a little better than earlier. i-4 westbound will take you about 28 minutes. right now, i-4 eastbound from the attractions to downtown will take you about 17 minutes and on the 408 to 417 to downtown will take you about 14 minutes right now. that's it for your live drive traffic. amy, john, back to you. >> thank you. and gene saw, happening right now, orlando police are stepping up enforcement to try to make the city's cross walk safer. >> andrea jackson joins us live where officers are cracking down on drivers who aren't yielding for pedestrians. you guys are kind of doing the behind the scenes sing operation here. that's kind of cool, andrea. >> yes. we have, in fact, i'll tell you this. the drivers here at cimarron and curry forward, actually behaving themselves. the officers are moving to their next intersection which we'll follow here momentarily. i'm joined by amanda david. >> what did you think about what you saw here today?
8:26 am
last year, really no cars were stopping for pedestrians here at this particular cross walk. and a year later, it was a great day. a lot of cars are stopping. and a lot of that has to do with the engineering treatments as well as enforcement. >> this is called the slip lane. tell us why. >> well, a slip lane is really -- i'll say this, i'll say that a slip lane is a death trap for pedestrians because cars are going very fast, about 45 miles an hour and they can still gun it around the corner. so that's why it's really important for us to be here today. >> and i know we talked to you last year about this same time, and we're looking at the numbers when it comes to pedestrians. how scary is it for pedestrians here in orlando as far as safety goes? >> central florida still ranks the number one most dangerous place for walking and last year alone, in 2015, about 600 people were injured or killed walking across the street. equiv all to about 747 crashing in orange county. and it's a huge, huge crisis that we're dealing with.
8:27 am
thank you. i'm glad you saw good results, too, this morning. >> thank you. >> we're going to move on to the next intersection about five minutes away. we'll see how they're doing there. a 13 -year-old boy who was accidentally shot over the weekend has now died. >> we've learned that luvaro fisher died on monday. the teenager was playing video games at a relative's home on sunday. the orlando sentinel reports that an older teenager got ahold of a gun and was playing with that gun while he was riding on a hover board. he ended up losing his balance and that caused the gun to fire and fisher was hit in the head. deputies say that the gun that the older teen was playing with belonged to this man, walter, investigators say he's a convicted felony and he was not at home at the time this happened, but he has been charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felony. investigators have not said whether or not anyone else will be facing charges. kissimmee police have found
8:28 am
wide sweep for credit card skimmers. all 28 gas stations in these skimmers. they came up with four devices just last week. one inspector even found a blue tooth skimmer. a person could actually download the data from it without ever having to open up that gas pump again. they plan to do sweeps like this now routinely. you decide. 2016, donald trump and bernie sanders are the big winners in new hampshire last night. >> so, new hampshire, i want to thank you. we love you. >> because of of a huge voter won. >> on the democrat side, bernie sanders won, as expected, but the margin of victory is getting a lot of people's attention. he got 60 % of the vote to hipping's 38 %. on the republican side, donald trump also had a big night. 35 % of the vote, john kasich came in second with 16 %. that surprised some people.
8:29 am
12 %. jeb bush and marco rubio round out your top five. you see they each got about 11 %. political analysts and former congressman rick keller joins us now to talk more about it. let's start with your overall thoughts from last night. is it as big a surprise that some people believe donald trump won by that big andologist sanders won by that big? >> i'm not surprised. i think kasich surprised a lot of people on how well he did. it was surprising how poorly chris christie did coming off those great debates. the exciting thing is that iowa and new hampshire have served their purpose. they've narrowed the field from 15 down to five and the two florida candidates are among those five. >> yeah, marco rubio started trending last week and then the debates kind of knocked him off his game, a lot of people say. he finished 5th here. what can he do? some people are even saying that debate may have doomed him for this year. do you believe that? >> no question the debate hurt.
8:30 am
what does he need to do? well, the criticism is that he was robotic and lacked substance. it's true that he was robotic, but he doesn't lack substance. he just had a bad day. he needs to go in the next debate, don't use any canned lines. show your substance, a little sense of humor, that you can survive this and get back to being the substantive candidate that you are. >> and suddenly, jeb bush showing signs of life again. he's positioned himself well, it seems. >> he's super well positioned and he benefitted more than anyone for the slip up that marco had because jeb 's whole selling point is he's a substantive guy with a lot of experience and he may not have pizazz, but he's got substance. it made a good contrast for him, and he's back in the game. >> and very quickly before we go, should hillary clinton be concerned about what happened there? the margin was a lot bigger than
8:31 am
>> she won last time against obama there. bad night. but with that said, i don't think she should be too concerned. she's so far up in the next few states, nevada, and south carolina. i think she's going to be fine over the long hall. >> once again, political analyst, always good to see you. we'll talk to you soon. beyonce haters are ready to get in formation. >> why protesters plan to gather outside of nfl headquarters. what they want the nfl to know. and on this day in history, february 10, 1979, rod stuart, do you think i'm sexy peaked at number one. which reality tv star covered the same song for her album in 2006? do you remember this? it wasn't quite as big of a hit. in fact, it wasn't a hit at all. was it kim k, paris hilton or hide amontag? which reality tv star tried to

8:34 am
. it's the number one song in all of 1999. >> it was huge. it was on this day in history, february 10, 1979, that it peaked at number one. which reality tv star then covered this song for her album in 2006 was not quite the same result. not quite as successful as ross. in fact, it didn't even register. i don't think anybody played it on the radio, ever. >> who would have? they thought it was a joke. >> but somebody did cover it. who do you think it was? all of themering by the way, tried a career in music. so in case you're like, um. >> you said tried. paris hilton had great deals. >> can you clarify who heidi is
8:35 am
>> she was on the hills. >> yeah. >> she's a lower tier reality tv star. she's not in the same echelon. >> we're sending it out to david martin. what do you think, which of these reality tv stars do you think tried to cover this song? >> i can tell you, it was kim kardashian who asked do you think i'm sexy. it was in 2006 and i raised my hand and said, yes. >> david says it was definitely kim competent. what say you, luann and ryan? .interviewer: i can see paris hilton. >> i don't know who heidi is. i thought it might be paris so let's go b, paris hilton. >> all right. what say you, jamie and dean a? >> we, too, are hopping aboard
8:36 am
>> i'm actually going with heidi. i think it might be heidi. i know it's not kim competent. >> you're splitting? >> i'm splitting. i just have a feeling, i remember something she was kind of attempting her music career. >> you haters forget that paris actually had a couple of good songs. >> no, she didn't. >> yeah. they trended well. >> trended well where? they were never played on any radio station. >> which one? name one. >> i can't remember the name. i will search it and you will hear. you'll be like, oh, my gosh, i didn't know she was that awesome. >> you have to prove that it made radio air. >> oh, i absolutely will, but i'm going with heidi. >> all right. here's your answer. okay. let me just tell you that i had to frame up this video very carefully because most of

8:38 am

8:39 am
wind chill factor's kicking pretty good. don't think the wind chill will be tremendous tomorrow morning. it will be plain old cold air and the frost becomes more widespread. not necessarily for downtown orlando but the outskirts in the north and east and west of that point through some of the more open rural areas and some of the great communities across north central florida with e getting a nice lair of frost. so consider the pets and plants for sure. 56 by two, breeze and cool temperatures, the secondary front came through this morning, leaving us with ample sunshine. clouds now in brevard and palm beach county. next seven for us, mild, warmer times ahead. starts tomorrow. you'll like that. the morning's going to be awfully cold. as we go through and into the weekend, we moderate the highs, bring up the lows. i'll call it mild for both saturday and sunday. you enjoy it because you deserve it. here's your weather baby right now.
