the southbound lanes of 1792 are shut down this weekend. crews are repairing the concrete slab. detours have been set up. southbound traffic coming along 1792 being diverted onto park avenue. the traffic between maitland and winter park are going to be jammed up all weekend long as crews work to repair the roadway right underneath the railroad bridge. they should wrap up construction monday morning by 6:00 a.m., only to start it all over again next friday morning and that construction will continue through that weekend until the following monday morning. so be prepared, detours will be set up, but traffic is sure to be bumper to bumper through maitland and winter park this weekend as well as next weekend. >> also new this morning, a dump truck driver who was trying to help a group of stranded motorists end up running over two people and killing them. >> it happened around 10:30 last night near the palm harbor parkway. florida highway patrol says a man's truck got stuck while he was driving through a muddy

he called friends to help get him out. they asked the driver of the dump truck to help them and the dump truck driver accidentally backed over both a man and a woman, killing them both. we're still waiting to hear if any charges will be filed in this case. new this morning, a man is dead after crashing into an suv in kissimmee. the florida highway patrol tells us that julio's motorcycle t-boned the suv. the 41 -year-old died at the scene. the suv's driver was not injured. also new, this out of orange county. after a 6 -month search, orlando police have arrested this man that they were desperately searching for. robinson is accused of murdering a 21 -year-old man in orlando back in august. he's expected to face a judge at any moment now. robinson's charge is first degree murder. he shot little through that sliding glass door there of an apartment in august. police believe the killing was

invasion that had happened the night before. two other accomplices are already in jail. happening right now, you can turn it again today and you'll get 50 bucks. >> the orange county sheriff's office holding a gun buy back event. jackie is there live with the latest. how's it going at this point? >> pretty well. a nine firearms have been turned in and one bb gun. if you turn in a gun, you get a $50 wal-mart gift card. this is where the action is happening. this is where they process the guns. if you turn in a bb gun, you get a $10 gift card from wal-mart. no questions. no id. just come down here to drop off your firearms. last year, they collected about 225 firearms. this is an annual event that started last year when orange county sheriffs deputy pine was killed in 2014 while responding

florida continues to grow, rising to 18 yesterday. none of those were contracted here in florida. they were all people who went out of state and then came back. we're also learning about a new concern, a study published in the journal of the american medical association suggests that zika could lead to blindness in some newborns. you decide, 2016 the democratic candidates go head to head in the first debate since new hampshire. >> and the last before super tuesday, hillary clinton and bernie sanders clearly out to define their differences since last time. they went back and forth over a range of issues and last night's debate, which was in milwaukee, touching on everything from national defense to the president and obamacare. >> secretary clinton has been going around the country saying i want to dismant the affordable care act. we're not going to dismantle anything. >> we both share the goal of universal healthcare coverage.

the polk county. so sunshine prevails. looks like a nice day today. warmer temperatures. i'm happy to tell you. looks like low and mid-70s for you overall in the midday today. a little breezy at times. you can see the southerly wind flow, west southwest at gainesville. a front lurking just to the north and it's this guy here behind me. that's going to be pressing on the area today and allow for the southerly flow to develop and temperatures respond in upwards direction. any rain, foul weather with this closer to the main low. the apparent low pressure center and that's in the carolinas now. nothing of consequence today or tonight. clear, cool, looking fine. 56 by 8:00 tomorrow saturday morning with the north, northeast wind at around 10:00. as the front drives through, the wind will whip around quickly to the north and northeast. our seas and surf by sunday, really starting to pop. if you have boating, ambition, especially over the atlantic coastal waters within about 20 nautical miles.

and killing two deputies up in mayor maryland. it happened on wednesday. david evans was on the run from here in florida when he was stopped by a maitland police lieutenant. this happened ten months ago. the lieutenant says he approached evans, who was sleeping inside of a car, and he said it looked suspicious. so when the officer started to ask questions, evans took off. there's now -- there was, rather, a warrant out for his arrest, but he was killed in that shoot out. a bill to make student recess mandatory in the state of florida is in trouble. the bill moved quickly through the house, but is now hitting a road block in the senate. it would require elementary schools to give students 20 minutes of recess during the day. so far, the bill has not been put on the agenda for the senate members. >> joining us live now is the lovely lauren semonetti. happy friday, girl. how are you? >> tgif. wonderful. how are you, amy? >> i'm in a good mood. it's friday.

restaurant garden. carla's gonna throw that together with a little dressing. and when you're cooking with a spouse or partner, you want to have fun. we've got cheese, wipe. it's almost like we're having a date night as we go along. >> she's making her own dressing here. >> this is a great little trick. take a jelly jar and don't throw it away. rinse it out and wash it. it's great for mixing dressings. we've got degree onmustard, honey we've taken from our local bees and olive oil and this is grape fruit juice instead of vinegar and just shake it up and that's going to make a nice dressing that we're going to go into our greens. >> it's fun to make it yourself. >> you're putting together beautiful and i wish at home, i wish they could smell because it smells so good. >> today, i didn't tell just a very light pasta. make it a day. make a date of it. get out to the farmer's market
