the clouds continue rushing on in. isolated rain chances through 3:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. this afternoon. by late tonight, into early tomorrow morning, we see the whole line of weather moving our way. that shets up showers and isolated storms. we have increasing clouds. a breezy one from the south and the east. solid to mid-to-upper 70s. and after 8:00 to 9:00 p.m., 10:00 p.m. tonight, chances for rain swelling. 70 to 80% when all said and done. and early chance tuesday, tomorrow, 20%. and then no chance through clearly next weekend. highs in the 70s. ample sun. most of the period, lower, middle, and upper 50s. in other words, looking good, central florida, enjoy it all. >> gina: we have the crash

an overturned vehicle in the center median. not causing significant backups or delays but quite a few emergency vehicles are on the scene. police activity at obt and kaley. shut down all of the southbound lanes at obt there. they're rerouting traffic. not causing significant delays or backups but be aware as you travel through there. on the beach line, near the airport, near the 436 exit, everything is looking fine. nothing to write home about in that area. everything for the most part looking good. and i-4 westbound from the 434 to fairbanks, taking 7 minutes. and the 4018 up to speed as well. >> amy: breaking news this morning. the coast guard is searching for a missing boater in brevard county. >> john: they're looking between satellite beach and patrick air

fox 35's andrea jackson has the latest on the search. >> reporter: good morning. it's about a 20-mile stretch here. near patrick air force. out in the distance is a coast guard plane off the coast near patrick's air force base. they're searching in a 20-mile range up to cape canaveral. it's quite a stretch they're searching. the conditions are stormy. waves are picking up. and they're searching for 38-year-old lloyd chamberlain from merritt island. he had yet to return home from a fishing trip. his boat was located but he was not on board. they found the boat off the coast of satellite beach.

park and satellite beach. dangerous rip current warnings were posted by the national weather is service for waters near the piers and jet tis near the coast, making the conditions quite dangerous to be out on the water. we'll continue to monitor here at satellite beach. >> john: ran rv is destroyed after catching on fire in ormond beach. just before 1:00 a.m. the rv was the only vehicle involved in this. two people were inside are the at time of the crash. we don't know the extent of their injuries at this time. volusia county fire rescue is handling the investigation. >> john: firefighters battle a fire in deland on south stone street. four people were inside, they

person injured their arm. >> amy: southbound lanes of 1792 between park and monroe avenue reopened for the first time since thursday. fox 35's dana jay has more. >> reporter: the detour here on southbound 1792 in winter park is no more. go ahead and take a look at the intersection, which is empty, when we go to it. here are some vehicles. this section of southbound 1792 between park avenue and monroe avenue had been closed since late last weekend. and what a headache that was for folks who moved through here throughout the weekend. an area where there's a lot of businesses, restaurant, stores that people, of course, like to get to. so the roadway, however, did reopen around 6:15 this morning. and things seem to be flowing pretty nicely through there. there shouldn't be any problems

here in this section of the road. this work will continue late this week into next weekend. if you encountered that detour last weekend, know it'll be here next weekend as well. reporter in winter parking dana jay, fox 35 news. >> john: after weeks of chasing a car thief across brevard county, the police finally get the cuffs on the man they said has been putting everyone in danger. some vehicle damage. >> oh, yeah, he's coming -- the tire is gone actually. the tire is gone on him. >> john: early saturday morning. the deputies tracked down the suspect after he sped down clear lake road. even after losing his tire, he kept driving for a while. he eventually crashed into a pole, and ditched the car and ran away. but the deputies caught up with him. he's wanted for car theft, and armed burglary, and possession

>> amy: a judge out of texas said that supreme court judge antonin scalia did die of natural causes. his body was flown from el paso to his home state of virginia. he was the most conservative voice on the court. republicans say that the next president should be the one to fill scalia's spot. >> amy: a tracker poll has donald trump with a big lead in south carolina. ted cruz, 20%. and florida senator marco rubio with 14%. and hillary clinton is leading bernie sanders, 520940%. and ryan has more on their campaigns. >> reporter: interesting look at the polls. neither race close in south carolina right now. the candidates out in full force tieing to win over the voters. and starting with hillary

materializing behind me. 0 7:15. today is president's day. a federal holiday. that means most government offices are closed as well as public schools and the banks are closed today. public transportation and garbage pickup on regular schedule. >> john: hit-and-run crashes. in total, there were 92,000 hit-and-runs statewide last year. that averages out to 250 of those kinds of accidents every single day. drivers can face serious consequences if they are caught leaving the scene of an accident. >> the problem is you increase your chances of being charged with a first degree felony if you leave the scene and someone dies, even if you are not at fault.

a 6-alarm fire in the frankfurt section of philadelphia which happened on saturday. firefighters are still on scene. dousing the property with water. why? because there are still hot spots two days later. there was a collapse result of the fire. and heat got pushed underneath the property. with the frigid cold temperatures, single digits and temperatures in the teens, it's been so cold. all of the water is clearly icing over. and icicles hanging down. and we are left with a ton of ice on the street. several blocks here are closed off to vehicular traffic as the situation conditions. hopefully fire investigators will be able to get in here with heavy machinery and make their way through and begin their fire investigation. >> amy: it's hard to imagine

smoldering in the weather up there. interesting. jenny, thanks. try to stay warm. they're just freezing up there. >> jayme: for 5 minutes and then i am wack to reality -- back to reality. northern and southern end of the county featuring mid-to-upper 60s. 40s over north central florida. south of that point, primarily 50s. southeast winds, repeated gusts, well over 20 miles per hour. volusia county, a little calmer overall. the southeast flow gradually spreading up the coast and into the interior. herb under that southerly air flow as this monstrosity approaches. a lot of rain. cold front on the way in. don't look for a tremendous cooldown, hardly any, in fact.

system, the inception, the source of it, and cold air over texas and that's where the system is coming from. isolated rain chance to 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. after that the chances swell up into the overnight tonight. before we see the chance come up, uv index today, mostly cloudy at times, and the uv index forecast at about a 3. sun goes down, rain chance up as high as 70 to 80% overnight. showers and isolated storms. as far as severe weather, we don't think so, at least in the next 10 to 12 hours. we'll see the rain chance rising and we'll have time to refine the forecast. strong gusty winds and very heavy rainfall wouldn't surprise me at all. we go through the wee early morning hours of tuesday.

through gainesville, ocala, portions of lake. and sweeps on through. and southwesterly in direction. some of the heavy rain may be with us at 6:00 a.m. we start to clear things out then and it looks like a nice day tomorrow. by mid-day we should go mostly sunny and maintain that firm sunshine all week long and gorgeous temperatures. look at that. 70s and 50s in the overnight. chance of rain? what chance of rain. and we'll go zero in that category. bring up the sun potential. leave highs very, very comfortable. cool, but not cold. through the mid-to-upper 50s. >> gina: happy monday. a live look at the 429 southbound. before the 414 exit. a tow truck is on the scene to clear the overturned vehicle we have on scene. and a couple of emergency

and completely contained to the center median. and we're going to give you another look right now. obt at kaley. southbound lanes are shut down here at kaley because of some police activity. they are rerouting drivers. everything looks okay. nothing too significant. be aware if you are traveling through there. another crash at sand lake and john young parkway. no word of roadblock, no significant delays, but be aware if are you going through there. i-4 westbound from lake mary to colonial, about 15 minutes. i-4 eastbound from the attractions downtown, 12 minutes. and the 408 is looking good, it's up to speed as well. regular gas is $1.57 at the sunoco in altamonte springs. you can check out gas saving times on our website at

the weekend. fox 35's dana jay has the latest on that story. good morning, dana. >> reporter: good morning, john. deputies this morning are looking for a beige 2006 ford taurus. they originally thought that the persons of interest in the case were in the car. it turns out those people are in custody this morning. investigators tell us that 84-year-old julian gresham's body was found. his daughters at tessee and her boyfriend are persons of interest in the case. they were taken into custody and baker acted. they thought that the couple had taken off in the victim's car, which they believe happen has a gun inside. the car is missing and the

trying to break into the building. man tal voa is charged with aggravated assault onen officer. but he has been said to not be fit to face trial. >> amy: a 22-year-old man was arrested. they believe he shot a man early yesterday morning at a story. paramedics took the victim to the hospital. he is expected to recover. they are not sure what led up to the shooting. >> john: 55-year-old man walked away from his assisted living facility on friday. he suffers from mental health issues and needs his medication. >> amy: a truck slammed into a home in new smyrna beach.

a truck sped down the street, and clipped a tree and plowed into the bedroom. neighbors say it's not the first time they've seen this kind of crash in the area. >> i hate to see people keep getting hurt and cars damaged. it'll continue unless somebody does something. >> amy: a woman in the home was thankfully not hurt. they want warning signs on the signs. >> john: a major void on the u.s. supreme court after justice antonin scalia died over the weekend. >> amy: the battle over when he should be replaced and by whom is dividing, and some say it's too soon. and fox's joel waldman has more. >> reporter: good morning. the appointment could affect everything from abortion to civil rights to climate change.

fau researchers did not find many between miami and palm beach but thousands between palm beach and jupiter. that was posted on friday. they get very upclose. you can see as we scan through a couple of these. they tagged five of these. fitted them with transmitters. it's amazing to see how how close they were. they migrate north every february through march. and the transmitters will help them to track their journeys. they spend the winter in florida. then go to georgia and the carolinas has it warms up. kind of like some snow birds as well. and it might sound scary to have thousands so close together. they said that they're rare. as long as you are not the one. it's cool.

a couple crashes on the major roadways. right now this is near conway. the road looks to be clearing. we had had a couple left hand lanes completely blocked there. but everything looks to be moving through the area. a lot of backup. give yourself extra time. and i-4 westbound, just before ivanhoe. we have a right shoulder blocked. and doesn't look to be causing significant delays. it's off on the shoulder. taking a look at drive times. and i-4 westbound from lake mary to colonial, 16 minutes. i-4 eastbound, 13 minutes. 408, 417 to downtown, it'll take about 12 minutes. >> john: 7:52 here on good day. a push in tallahassee to give kids a second chance when they break the law.
