and this right here, beyond purees, a great way taadd an all natural and extra nutrition rather to any dog's dry meal. and if you ever added the wet stuff to the dry food for your dog, watch their reaction. not only do consumers like it, but i guarantee your dog will love it, as well. these are very popular in our house. skinny cow's dipped ice cream bars. the idea here is you can get the treat and also feel good about it. 190 calories for each one of these. $5.49 buys you the full box. and finally, take a look at this. these are tide pods plus febreze. we've heard about the two in one trend, each the three in one trend. this is the all in one trend. for the first time ever, this is four in one technology. so detergent, stain remover, brightener, 24 hours of freshness. you take a pod, toss it into the

broken up, but right now, a severe thunderstorm warning continues for our good friends and neighbors up in marion county. just east of ocala, line from ocala out toward st. augustine, around the beach front, so again, if you're in the path of this storm, i want you to find your safe place and just plainly stated, get the heck out of the way of this thing. it's got 45 to 55 mile-per-hour winds, and it is of severe criteria, we might find small hail, damaging winds and at any time sever thunderstorms are notorious for spitting up brief, hard, and very impactful tornadoes. we're watching that. another look here. i'm tracking that cluster as it begins to make a move out towards the palm coast area. let me go ahead and switch sources here. and again, heads up to our viewrs and residents in the palm coast area, also around hammock beach. we continue with a big slug, really heavy rain moving your way. i'm talking 12 minutes out,
9:19 am
communities back through here. here's i 95. i'm focusing on this here and you can see back out toward the ocala area, not all cleared just yet, but we are improving rather rapidly at this time. and some of this wants to get into even northern coastal volusia county, around norman and flagler beach. so again, tornado watch continues until 10:00 this morning for the cities of ocala, out towards the sumpter county area, wildwood and bushnell come to mind along i 75. you can see alachua has been peeled back from the watch at this juncture. and again, another look at our velocity scan. i want to show this to you. the stuff beginning to enter tampa bay, showing us almost like a snaking effect type of image here. we're starting to see a bit of rotation and not only this product, but also the viper system that i like to use for you guys showing us some rotation out at sea. doesn't always mean they'll
9:20 am
you a good ineconomicer as to how strong some of these cells are. they move across this general area and we'll impact metro orlando as we course through the lunchtime hour. you can see sliding out towards the theme parks after 1:00, 1:30, and beginning to kick off the east side of the state here in quick fashion. this is going to help to bring in a fabulous air mass over the course of the next several days. temperatures take a dive, sunshine comes back out. but again, we've gotta get through this before things get better. so ocala, almost in the all clear here. we should probably take that off the graphic. i think i-4 corridor in orlando, that range of 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., because of that segmented nature of the next line coming in. anything competent to proceed. with that, more development, less develop. so we'll see how it pans out. and of course, brevard county, we'll see the threat begin the diminish after 1:00 or 2:00 this afternoon. right now, temperatures, been a very warm morning. a lot of cloud streaming in, rain chances on the rise.
9:21 am
highs in the 60s. ample sunshine, lows back down to the 40s. you probably know that for the weekend. delightful, each and every morning, chilly start with a gorgeous day ahead. enjoy it all. >> still to come, "good day orlando" is heading to the farm before the storm. >> yes, before storm. david martin is joining us live in winter garden this morning to let us know what you can expect if you make a visit there. >> we're on a hydroponic farm on story road. imagine this. all the towers you see here, it would normally take six acres of land to produce all this stuff. these guys are doing it in less than an acre. and let me tell you here, what you're eating is faxed. the strawberries and all those veggies, it's going to make you

out he . our families went out to pick strawberries last year. >> yes, we did. it was a blast. >> like 50 bucks each. you just can't stop. >> and today, this is a new option. so you have someplace new to go with your kids. >> i love it. heading down to winter garden. these are specially grown strawberries. and david is joining us now to explain how it's different. hi, david. >> it's amazing, amy and john. when you eat your veggies and fruit, you get as tall as brice walker here. junior in legacy high school. education is important, but farming is importanter. you've grown up on a farm. what have you learned out here?
9:25 am
>> jason runs the family farm. it's been in operation since 1920. it was a citrus farm for many years. greening killed that all off. now they're into something new. strawberries and vegetables, as well. what do you have back here in the tent? >> we got a lot of different varieties of tomatoes and peppers. we got lettuce, broccoli, call flour, spinach. >> can't forget the spinach. we'll tell you this. you can't pick it, but you'll pick it for us. >> we'll pick it for you and typically, we'll harvest it right when you ask so we'll have it for you. >> let's walk to the strawberry farm where you actually can pick. this is why we're here this morning, open every friday and saturday. what is the season for strawberries? >> for strawberries, they'll start coming in in early -- mid november and then they'll go until may or june. >> so plenty of time to get out here. fridays and saturdays.
9:26 am
tower for multiple reasons. look how clean the floor is. it's not dirty. >> yeah. it stays pretty clean. we just use enough water to water the towers so it conservatives water so it can be used in a lot of places like the cities and in places where water's not abundant. >> and when space is limited, what a perfect set up. and also, you don't have to bend down and hurt your back and knees. >> absolutely. traditional farming, you're digging with the dirt and fighting insects and ants as you're picking strawberries. this, you get to do the vertical towers and not break your back and not fight the animals. >> tasty, as well. all right, guys. brand new here, it's the family farm. you can find them on facebook. g ffwg on facebook. they're on east story road here on winter garden. it's a terrific family. i've fallen in love with all of you guys. thanks for coming out here for "good day orlando." round of applause. come get some strawberries.
9:27 am
>> oh, i do, too. and they're ready. still to come, shoppers on edge. >> a new shopper satisfaction sway was just released and shows people are not happy. the one category of stores that actually saw improvement? we'll tell you about that, coming up next. 9:26 right now. there's a live look inside the control room on this fine wednesday morning.

. welcome back to "good day orlando." it's 9:30. so glad you're with us on this wednesday morning. >> it is a busy wednesday. we want to get you caught up on some of the headlines you may have missed, starting with severe weather we've been tell you about, a really strong storm system that swept through much of the southeast last night. it's headed in our direction now. you're looking at a video out of pensacola now, where tornadoes damaged homes and apartments. no major injuries reported there. however, earlier the storm killed at least two people in
9:31 am
mississippi and sent as many as 30 people in the hospital, jayme, and we talked about just how strong these storms are. and i think it was the mobile home park that got the worst in this one. >> yeah, they got pounded. ocala, got hammered pretty good. down toward the done ellen area, received a lot of reports of retention ponds that were nearly dry. it was a good solid 6 or 7 inches of rainfall within those pond. so again, heavy rain indeed moving in quickly, leaving the scene rather rapidly. we also find returns now getting closer to the metro of orlando and we trace that back out to a big cluster that will begin to actively track and really turn our sites and attention to that cluster as this one over the northern tier of our viewing area begins to exit out into the atlantic. i want to take and focus on palm coast for flagler county. you can see here, we've drawn a track on this one and it looks
9:32 am
coast now, the heavier stuff beginning to move to your north along i 95, the winds are a little gusty at this time. rains a little lighter and we trace it back toward ocala where i'm now receiving pictures from western marrian of sun filled blueboard skies. so good news, we continue with a tornado watch until 10:00 with marrian, including the city of ocala, trace it out to sumpter and you can see the remainder of us now also under that watch for mainly along the gulf of mexico counties, tampa, metro and such. and that continues looking southbound into the southwestern side of the state. so slowly but surely, we'll peel back this watch, focusing now. i've taken a lot of the locations out. i've shown you the radar. lake county, lot of lake county may escape this entirely today. we're going to focus on i-4 and metro orlando. 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. cocoa beach, 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. and after that time for cocoa,
9:33 am
out the clouds and slowly but surely return to a more sun-filled forecast, not necessarily entirely for today but by tomorrow, you'll notice winds have changed, coolerer dryer, breezy, looking good as we approach your weekend. thank you so much. and you can track the weather 24/7. download our free weather app. i can't live without this thing. we use it all the time. go to the app store or google play store. you can also text 87057. it's easy to do. always, three marion deputies are off the force. >> the men resigned after hearing about an internal affairs investigation. deputy eduardo resigned on friday, accused of excessive use of force, misleading police reports and also much more. two other deputies resigned over drugs, one accused of using, another accused of knowing and not coming forward. >> there's now a case of the zika virus in seminole county,
9:34 am
cases to 29. all of the cases remain travel related which means the people who caught the mosquito born virus somewhere else and brought it back to florida. zika is believed to cause a fever, a rash, and birth defects in babies. time now for your morning business headlines. joining us now is the lovely lauren semonetti. hi, good to see you. good morning. >> let's talk markets first. how are things looking? >> not good. dow's down 180 points. oil is down in a big way, about 4 %. you have the major oil producers, the opec members saying we'll freeze production, we're not going to cut production anytime soon. in fact, iran actually called the freeze a joke. so we're not really taking much oil off the market right now and that's why the price of oil is down and with it, ecties are down, too. >> how quickly does that translate to us seeing lowering
9:35 am
>> i've always said two weeks. the issue right now is we haven't fluctuated much. it's between 31 and $32 a ballen. but if you jump from $38 to $24, absolutely that would affect the price of gas in about ten days. >> good to know. a new customer satisfaction survey coming out about major american retailersism what were the results of that? >> most of them are terrible. we're not satisfied with retailers, according to this index. if you look at the specialty category, you have wal-mart, cost co. elbrands and cost co all the way at the top. all the way at the bottom, aber cramby and fitch. it's the smell and dark, dim lights but they did dead last. >> i have gone into the shop for my nephews and when i go in there, not only is it so dark, it's so loud.
9:36 am
maybe i'm just getting old, but it's irtaillight something to and you're not alone. as a company, the stock price is really struggling and the retailers that do well, cost co, for instance, i don't know, i love going to cost co. it's really simple. the stores you like to go to are doing well. online retailers did better than brick and mortar. and gas stations did great. the only reason the gas stations are doing well, is because it's so cheap to fill up. it doesn't matter what your experience is at the station. >> that's fascinating. good stuff. you can catch lauren each weekday morning on the fox business network. starts at 5:00 a.m. not sure where to go? go to foxbusiness.com/channelfinder. today marks the 6th anniversary of the death of sea world trainer killed by a killer whale. a lot of people have wondered
9:37 am
whether or not they still support sea world. this morning, dana jay goes to sea world as they keep her memory and mission alive. >> little hands, tiny voices, big excitement. for these kids, it's a chance to visit a theme park. they might not otherwise get to see and experience animals they might not otherwise get to meet. >> the woman who leads them visits sea world with mixed emotions. >> yeah, you have memories that you bring up, but there's a lot of great memories, too. >> debbie is the executive director of the dawn brancho foundation, named for her
9:38 am
the organization brought the kids here, to sea world. >> i think a lot of times, foundations are born out of tragedies and this is ours. she followed her dreams, all the way to where she wanted to be at sea world, training the animals she wanted to love -- training the animals she loved. >> francho's family and friends knew her as the woman whose smile lit up a room. >> whether you met dawn for the first time or you were a life long friend, she walked in the room and she greeted you, you felt like you knew her forever. >> you know dawn brancho as the sea world trainer who was violently killed in 2010 when a whale lashed out. for the past six years, the

dawn's name to improve the lives of children and animals through community service projects. their goal isn't exactly to inspire kids to work in a place like this, but --. >> if that's what that child's dream is and we help get that dream started and promoted, that's fine with us. >> the tragedy doesn't keep brancho's family away from sea world. they believe the animals, the people who train them, and the excitement in the eyes of kids keep their beloved sister's memory alive. >> i would say that her most important task at sea world was caring for the animals and loving those animals. and second, was educating, especially she loved the educate. we get to see how these kids feel and that's what she saw every day when she worked. >> sea world has struggled financially since brancho's death. the
9:40 am
price has basically been cut on half. sea world's income dropped a whopping 84 % from 2014 to 2015. and it saw 100,000 fewer visitors over that same time period. >> scott smith is a veteran of the theme park industry and an assistant professor at the university of south carolina. >> i think everyone waring that there's a greater scrutiny of using live animals for entertainment, and that's something that's not ever going to go back. >> smith says that if sea world is to survive, they need to move away from shows that feature animals performing and emphasize their conservation efforts, both in the parks and in the wild. >> we know that here in orlando, but i'm not so sure the rest of the nation knows that. that's a great story and dallied be something that i would want to make sure gets out there. >> the company announced it
9:41 am
killer whale show at the park in orlando. but something that focuses more animals. prior to that, they announced it would expand killer whale tanks, whether or not people would pay to visit sea world without the draw dropping performances remains to be seen. >> going back to the way business was done is just not going to be an option. >> despite all that's happened, dawn's family still goes to see the whales she trained. in the crowd at the animal shows, not just dawn's sister, but her mom, too. the family wasn't involved in the making of the black fish documentary, and they don't wade into the controversy. >> everyone in our family, we've all decided we're not marine animal trainers. we can't know what dawn would think, say, do. we're pretty confident to say that dawn would want those
9:42 am
for and to love like she loved them. >> a trip like this might inspire the same love in someone else. >> there were several teenagers that after feeding some of the sea lions that i think i should do this when i grow up. >> dawn's family considers that just one more way for her life to continue to shine. >> dana jay, fox 35 news. >> in a statement, sea world told us, we are honored to support this amazing organization, not only for what it means to us personally, but also for the incredible good it creates in the world. still to come, if you have a short fuse, it may not be your fault.

john's river basin subject to moderate to heavy rainfall at this time. again, we've lost the tornado watch in gainesville. also, marion county, off now waiting for sumpter to fall. as the stuff continues streaming off rapidly into the east northeast, anywhere from 40 to 55 miles per hour, that's when we'll start to see them peeling back the watches. so for all intended purposes, i-4 corridor area, metro orlando, liking 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. arrival times, i'm going to aggressively track that cluster for you as it nears downtown. cocoa beach, around 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and after that, this thing marches offshore. we'll see goodbye to this thing and welcome in fine, fine weather, just in time for your weekend. it's been a real warm morning out there, too. solid 70s, debate in the weather center. how high will the temperatures fly this afternoon? and we'll leave it at 78. i think the main thrust of the cooler air begins to arrive in earnest, probably after sun down.
9:50 am
out around 51 on average, a little colder for north central florida, gainesville and ocala, likely down through the low and mid-40s tonight. uk see 60 and bright sun. i like the way that looks and we'll talk more about that before the day's end at 10:00 a.m. first, this is taylor and taylor is a good looking weather baby. she's so good look, i forgot to toss to the weather baby segment. and this is zoe. she's a cutie, as well. visit our website for more fox 35 orlando.com. over to you. still to come, we're getting tricky with one of the harlem globetrotters. >> i can't wait for this. bucky is joining us live. he's amazing.

we'll talk to him, coming up . all right, jayme king in the weather center. i've got chris and john with me. chris just issued a tornado warning right now for portions of sumpter county. so here's the deal. severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado located
9:54 am
hills. moving northeast at 35 miles per hour. it looks as though we're going to see this get in toward potentially southern sumpter county here. so again, it's this area right through here. bear with us now. this warning again is moving the cell itself, moving northeast at about 35 miles per hour and we're continuing to effort this to find it exactly where this thing is going to wind up. obviously, all this is tied to what is happening now with a lot of activity coming in. you can see it right there. again, a lot of activity streaming in off of the gulf of mexico and this is the cluster that we've been watching all morning long. i'm going to come over here to the viper system and take it a little lower here and take it a bit tighter and see what's going on. again, everything tied to what's happening down there, again, going until 10:15 now. you can see that cluster around southern sumpter county at this
9:55 am
north and east at a fairly good clip now. anywhere from 35 to 40 miles per hour and of course this is the area now that we have been watching, right in through here. that came in off of the gulf of mexico and continues moving into that general direction of northeasterly at about 35 miles per hour. so again, as we go through the next we'll say about a 45 minutes to an hour's time, the same batch of storminess is going to be moving toward orange county, southern sections of lake county. and we are getting this again officially from the national weather service in tampa. what are you seeing there? >> again, if you're just joining us, we have this tornado warning for sumpter until 10:15 this morning. severe thunderstorm capable of producing tornado was located just about nine miles east of zephyr hills.
9:56 am
jayme just said, to the northeast. >> obviously having a bit of an issue there, a little technicality with kristin's mic. i apologize for that. tornado warning issued for portions of sumpter county on the southern leg of the county now. i'm going to come over to the viper system and we're going to try to outline this. it's a big, big mess right now. there's a lot going on within close proximity to the actual warned area. soave for sumpter, right in through here. this is a small, very discrete cell, moving rapidly now to the north and east and that's one thing that does concern us is that general movement that the direction. again, to the northeast at about 35 miles per hour. now, you can see south of that now, the general radar image looks a little discombobulated. a lot going on again. so we're going to try to decipher exam where that rotation is. if you are in the path of this fairly dangerous storm, we want you do get out of the way of that. you can see it now around sections of southern sumpter
9:57 am
again, we're going to zoom in a little tighter here. bear with us as we try to navigate through this for you now. i've got sumpter here and what we're showing again on the velocity scan is a little bit of rotation in one of these cells. you can see it right about there. kristin, if you would navigate the timeline for i want to show you why this has gone now for sumpter county. what we've got now is the gate to gate, these green images with the bright flashing red right here, showing us some rotation. overall, as kristin advances for me, you can see it right there coming u. it's extreme southern sections of sumpter county. tornado warning continues as the cell moves rapidly off to the north and east at 35 to 40 miles per hour. as you navigate that, do you see what i'm seeing, how very, very tightly wrapped that is on the velocity scan? we'll see if this holds together, but what we're watching is where we begin to
9:58 am
areas of red continuing to kind of wrap up on itself there, right there. i'll go ahead and illustrate that again. there's a lot going on right now within the confines of this. so again, this green is meeting up with this red, the northern edge of this particular cell exhibiting some rotation. that is why the road is out now for our viewers in sumpter, this will continue lifting off in the general direction again of lake county. and as we continue moving on through the next about 30 minutes or so, it will be rather telling as to where this thing is ultimately going to wind up. >> absolutely. and if you're just joining us, again, we have a tornado that's been issued, going until 10:15 this morning and a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado was located just eight miles of zephyr hills, about 8 or 9 miles east of zephyr hills and moving northeast very quickly at about 35 miles per hour right now. and you can see if you switch
9:59 am
see those stronger cells and darker colors, the reds and oranges, you see right there, just east of lakeland, it's pretty strong. >> yeah, it is. >> coming down pretty hard over there. >> it is, it is. sorry to step on you. great analysis there again a tornado warning continues now for portions of sumpter county and no surprise as this watch is now hoisted until 10:00 a.m. and we're about to go a bit north of that here as we clock on over to the 10:00 a.m. timeframe. so again, through southern sumpter and areas of polk county, the area that we're concerned about right now is doing its deal right here. so the rotation indicated here merely by dopler, live doppler radar so again we've not confirmed that there is a circulation on the ground but when the radar says, hey, there's a little something going on there, we go ahead and bring you now again a tornado warning south of that. another pretty aggressive area. we're getting a lot of
10:00 am
and you can see by the color coding streaked out in red there, suggesting extreme heavy rainfall and again, the rotation associated with that notching going on now across southern sumpter county. some of that may begin to move out toward and south of claremont and into portions of south and southwestern lake county as we head through the next half hour or so. >> the reds and greens indicating winds going towards each other in the spot that the tornado, the thunderstorm capable of producing that tornado was spotted and again, this is just nine miles east of zephyr hills and so this is for our friends in sumpter. we want to give them the heads up and really pay attention to what's going on right now. again, jayme, can we show where that rotation we saw, that potential rotation? >> and keep in mind for those of you, now i say that, 10:00, we now see this beginning to
