live look on i-4. that's really the only issue on i-4. another look the a the accident. can you see the red there is slowing things down from lake mary boulevard. i gave you an alternate. take lake mary boulevard to markham woods road. you can avoid this mess complete. get to work on time. good day. on friday. that's what we want. westbound i-4 from lake mary to colonial, 25 minutes. eastbound, from the attractions to downtown, 12 minutes. westbound 408 from the 417 to downtown take just 11 minutes. >> john: an 8-year-old boy is in the hospital after being hit by a car. >> amy: titusville police said that the driver didn't even stop to make sure that the child was okay. it happened at alpine lane. the boy is at arnold palmer hospital. fox 35's gina benitez has the latest.

got to the scene they found the little boy conscious. he was hurt. he was flown here to arnold palmer with a head injury. the good news here is that the little boy was stable when he was transported. at this point, we're not sure exactly how bad that head injury is. this whole thing happening yesterday at around 6:00 p.m. on alpine lane in titusville. titusville fire said that the young boy was riding his bike here when someone hit him and drove off. he was not wearing a helmet at the time. titusville police is currently investigating the accident. there's a little glimmer of light here. we're told that titusville police may have found the vehicle involved. according to a tweet sent out by the titusville fire department. we're working to get more information and details. >> amy: meanwhile police are investigating a separate deadly crash in titusville.

suv on old cheney highway. the victim's name was not released. that driver did stay at the scene. >> john: i-drive is back open after a crash shut things down no a few hours overnight. a driver hit a water main and sent water shooting dozen of feet up into the air. the water was spraying about afternoon in a really small town of newton, north of wichita. the 38-year-old cedric ford

one and went on a violent ride. he shot anyone he saw as he was driving to his job at the lawn mower factory. he opened fire on his coworkers and killed three people. the rampage ended when a lone police officer braved the gunfire and shot ford, killing him. the fbi is helping investigators figure out a motive. >> he was a nice guy when i worked with him on second shift. we hung out. everything was hunky-dory. he didn't seem like this kind of guy. >> reporter: ford has connections to south florida. our news partners at the "orlando sentinel" said that he was previously charged with multiple drug offenses in broward county. three years of prison in 2005 for carrying a concealed weapon as a felon. >> john: two people taken to the

and a shooting. it happened late wednesday night at kingco boulevard. there's no information on a suspect. >> john: a man accused of vandalizing a mosque. he broke into the mosque in titusville and damaged the property with a machete and raw bacon on the front steps. he was originally charged with armed burglary and criminal mischief. florida today said that the charges face hate crime enhancements. >> amy: you decide 2016. the target is on front runner donald trump's back. florida senator marco rubio is not backing down. >> here's the guy who repeats himself. >> you repeat yourself every day. trump is leading rubio in the poll in florida. leading by double digits. what does that say. >> it's a little surprising. but it's real early. i think you'll see changing in the numbers, depending on what happens in super tuesday. i think he'll do a lot better in the florida poll than it suggests. >> amy: we did a poll and they felt rubio did pretty well. there's a look at the poll. who do you think won the debate? we have 51% for trump. 37% for rubio. cruz is not really registering. what do you think that cruz did wrong last night that he is not registering? >> no question that rubio did the best. he was like sugar ray leonard with the jabbing. he did a great job. i don't know that cruz did

but one of the things that i have been hearing is that john kasich keeps a cool head. >> kasich keeps a cool head. very well qualified. no shot on super tuesday. so moderate. giving legal status to immigrants in the first 100 days. that's nice if that's what you believe, but that's not what they want to hear. and doctor carson. he was ignored. mainly because the voters are not making him in the top tier right now. i don't think either of those two guys have a realistic shot, but both have great qualities in their own right. >> amy: what do you think will happen? >> i think trump will win every state but texas. and rubio coming in second. the race will still be alive going into march 15. but trump at that point will like lib be the heavy -- likely be the heavy favorite. >> amy: it's been fascinating to watch.

>> amy: two men behind bars without bond accused of taking part in a violent robbery. they are facing armed robbery and kidnapping charge. on wednesday, police said that the victim was walking behind the steak and shake. four men pulled up to him, robbed him, and threw him out and ran from deputies. they ran away and ended up in lake mary. the other suspects are on the run. >> amy: florida lawmakers on the death penalty. amended a bill that would require at least 10 jurors to recommend the death penalty beforehanded out. right now the judge makes the final decision. they could vote as early as next week. >> amy: bridget pine is asking for anyone's assistant in getting abill approved that

surviving families of first responders in florida. an online petition has been created that calls for the house of representatives to return the bill back to to how it was originally proposed and on track to pass before they added to it that faces heavy opposition in the senate. her husband, deputy scott pine, was killed about two years ago in the line of duty. we have posted this petition at fox35orlando.com. >> john: the ohio shaw shank redemption prisoner will be a free man soon. the ohio parole board said that he will be released. he escaped back in 1959. and he was found in brevard county last year living under the name bill cox. his family and friends back here in florida just want him back here at home. >> we're looking forward to him coming home, to florida.

what i am watching is the next system over the northern pacific. you see seattle, washington here. a lot of wet weather. foul winter type conditions entering the inter mountain west. by miffed week into -- midweek into thursday, a shower chance. 30%. and nothing too rough. but bottom line, sunshine dominating. a great weekend. if you like it additionally warmer, we find closer to 80 early next week. very slim rain chances, 30% at best, at this time, on wednesday. snap the sun now. good looking picture. and look at that. bird of prey getting ready to pounce on something. #snapthesun. we'll feature your pictures on the air.

equateioral area. some aspects fairly typical and some weren't. we were hoping for more rain in southern california. we got help with the -- to get help with the drought, but that was not according to the plan. but we're learning more of this one, and putting it in the context of others, but none are exactly alike. >> john: i remember last fall that the national weather service had concerns that this would cause more storms than normal. has that been the case or a pretty normal year? >> reporter: it's hard to say right now. in addition to el nino, temperatures are getting warmer, climate change, and ocean oscillation that have impacts not related to el nino. it's always a little challenging in realtime trying to figure out if specific events are related to el nino or if it's something else.

typical but after wards we'll try to figure out what role el nino played and the other factors. >> john: i'm curious. is there one thing. and what does that mean as the pattern winds down. >> reporter: i think one of the really interesting thing is that some people said it el nino didn't pan out because we didn't make up for the rainfall deficit in central california. we saw a lot of rain in northern california and the pacific northwest. we saw some of the pattern sort of shifted farther to the north. i think trying to understand the processes of why exactly we saw the disparity, what was going on, i think it'll be a really, really interesting study and something we maybe had not thought about as much before. >> nasa scientist doctor leslie ott. thank you for your time. >> reporter: thank you very

>> more and more abortion clinics are closing their doors. and luanne has more. >> reporter: this headline comes from bloomberg. abortion clinics are closing at a record pace. new abortion laws are making it harder for clinics to stay open. since 2011, 132 have closed and 21 new have opened. 21% of the clinics that closed were in places where less than 10,000 people lived. now many women live too far away from the clinic to consider abortion. in some states there is now only one abortion clinic. and from fox news. missouri proafer was fired after protest scuffles were caught on camera. you probably remember this. the university of missouri professor was officially fired yesterday. the board of curators voted to fire her after she was caught on camera, right here, interviewing
