it's unclear how bad the head injury is. this whole thing happened in titusville at 6:00 p.m. he was riding his bike here when someone hit him and then just drove off. firefighters say he was not wearing a helmet at the time. we are learning that police believe they may have found the vehicle involved in the hit-and-run crash. according to a tweet by the titusville fire department. we're working to find out more information and we'll bring you the very latest. gina benitez, fox 35 news. >> john: we're learning new details on a deadly mass shooting that happened in a rural part of kansas. >> amy: the gunman did have connections here in florida. luanne has the details. >> reporter: good morning. this all started yesterday afternoon in a small town of newton.

police say 38-year-old cedric ford carjacked someone and went on a violent ride. ford shot anyone he saw. as he drove to his job at a lawn mower factory in heston. ford opened fire on his coworkers and killed three of them. the rampage ended when a lone police officer braved the gunfire and shot ford killing him. the fbi is, woulding to figure out a motive. >> he was a nice guy when i worked with him on second shift. we hung out. everything was hunky-dory. i mean, he didn't seem like that kind of guy. >> reporter: he was arrested for drug offenses in broward county when living here. he was sentenced to three years in prison in 2005 for being a convicted felon in possession of a concealed weapon. >> john: water, water, everywhere. this was the scene on i-drive

and lacrosse player john michael night suffered a brain stem stroke. he has something called locked-in-syndrome. he can't move his body. fox 35's jackie orozco has more. they've been rallying around this young plan and the community. >> reporter: the lake mary prep high school has been supporting him through raffles, bake sales, all to raise money. more than $1,000 has been raised to help john michael knight to fight the rare medical condition. and with me two seniors that started this whole thing. you told me, abby, that you know john michael personally. >> i know him. and ashley knows him through the

>> reporter: a lot of people don't know about the locked-in syndrome. can you talk about that? >> what happened was he had a stroke one day on december 14. he's at the shepherds hospital in atlanta because he has locked in-syndrome. you can't move anything in your body but fully capable and mentally there. >> you guys are talking about him make progress, right? but he need as lot of help. his insurance pays a little bit. and talk about how the school is helping him with that. >> we started the bake sale february 23 and february 24. we raised over $800 $800 from that alone. that's amazing. a bunch of raffle donors. and they donated a bunch of stuff for us to give out the the raffle. we have already raised over $200 for that. added up to over $1,000.
