9:02 am
on the 9 o'clock hour of... >> "good day orlando"! [cheers] >> amy: yea! >> john: so many great shows coming to town, concerts and productions and a lot here. >> amy: all the new broadway shows just announced. >> john: that, too. >> amy: what is your take on the weather. >> jayme: here's the deal, guys, visible satellite, you can only use the product when the sun is up. so, it illuminates the cloud tops an bases and, what we are finding now is, considerable amount of cloud cover, chunky now, north central florida and jacksonville and coastal carolinas, cold front moving through now and if you look, the clouds moving from southwest to northeast and starting to pepper in a bunch of holes in the veil of clouds and we'll call it partly cloudy, ramping into the midday timeframe for you and looking for only a few pockets of very, very light sprinkles like the annoying stuff under your windshield wipers.
9:03 am
the fronts coming through, don't take out the chance of rain, not looking for downpours but sprinkles and cloud base lowers as the front begins to move through. now close to 70. making a move, and bushnell 70 and sumpter county, and looks like tomorrow, full sunshine, close to it. prevailing and another span of clouds friday, another front, back behind that, a delightful weekend. looking good, another weekend in pair rice, talk more in full weather in 10 minutes. see then, guys. >> john: developing this morning an 8-year-old boy is in the hospital after falling into a canal walking home from school. >> amy: a sad story. it happened yesterday afternoon at the intersection of pembroke drive and forest city road done the street from his school. he attends riverside elementary and that is where fox 35's jackie orozco is joining us live this morning with an update. good morning, jackie. >> reporter: good morning, guys. yeah, the little boy is in critical condition at the hospital, and i have talked toy a bunch of parent and they send
9:04 am
and, also, this morning, crisis counselors are here to help the students. >> i was told the little boy was in the water and my son was the only one that knew how to swim and he jumped in and helped him. >> britney brown said her son was at the right place at the right time. >> took off his shoes and jumped in and save him. >> this morning, the 8-year-old riverside elementary student is in critical condition at the hospital after nearly drowning. sheriffs deputies say he was with a group of kids in an area they weren't supposed to be in as they walked home yesterday afternoon. >> the county canal fenced off and over the canal, is a large pipe, that is about 20 feet long and that is for county workers. >> reporter: deputies say somehow the 8-year-old was on the pipe and fell ten feet into the water. >> other children ran to get help and the if i were responded immediately. and, with the -- whisked the child away to florida south hospital where he's in very critical condition. >> reporter: this orange county
9:05 am
chrysler counselors at -- crisis counselors today. >> they don't think of it like we do. it is scary -- >> reporter: good thing they have crisis counselors. >> both my kids go there and so i'm glad they do. >> reporter: the district will keep the counselors here as long as they are needed. jackie orozco, fox 35 news. >> john: breaking news from overnight the results of super tuesday are all in. the votes counted, really a couple of hours ago. >> amy: i've got you. brian is crunching the numbers -- >> something in the building gets me every time. >> driving in 3:45 and called alaska. live on the radio. and it was not a clean sweep for donald trump or hillary clinton. they emerged as the dominant front-runners in their parties. the g.o.p. side, 7 states went for trump, a closures look. ted cruz performed better than expected. won not only texas and oklahoma but took alaska as well. and marco rubio, much of the night he was getting ripped by the other candidates for not
9:06 am
it was minnesota up north which puts him on the board. >> donald, i believers not the right nominee for the party. i think if he's the nominee, we lose, we lose to hillary clinton and is a disasterous and we lose the senate and the supreme court for a generation and the only way i believe to stop donald trump is for the republican party to cull together. >> we have the rally to stop donald trump, a world class con artist and a guy who wouldn't even criticize the ku klux klan from being our nominee. because of the tremendous damage to the conservative movement and the republican party. >> does cruz winning help trump? neither are getting out and many feel it has to happen. hillary clinton swept the south and took 7 states an bernie sanders won four including his home state of vermont but bernie sanders is not done yet, he says. >> wall street may be against us, and the super pacs may be against us.
9:07 am
win? because our message is resonating and the people, where we stand together, will be victorious. [cheers] >> ryan: he draws a crowd and a closer look at the delegate numbers needed as well. the republicans, the number is 1237 and donald trump read leading with 285 and ted cruz 160 and marco rubio and john kasich and ben carson, adding all four together trail donald trump in that race. a look at the other side, the democratics, 23-83, winning the nomination and has a thousand delegates, and bernie sanders with 371. and the race, and bernie sanders points out there are 35 states left and big focus on florida in two weeks where trump and clinton both have double-digit leads an donald trump will be here for a rally at ucf on saturday. john? >> john: political analyst and radio show host carl jackson joins us to talk more about the race. appreciate you being here. long night last night. quite the night. cruz says trump can't beat
9:08 am
that actually says trump loses to both, bernie sanders and hillary clinton. . but marco rubio and ted cruz both beat her and republicans will be in a difficult position, verier very soon? >> let's put it this way, john, if marco rubio, not trump, does not decide -- cruz doesn't get out of the race, it is trump's nomination to win. now as much as the media is -- marco rubio has the media at his back, beck and call. they want marco rubio, marco rubio is not going to win, he will not win florida. he locked for a delegate race, horribly. it will nop happen. >> john: interesting conversation, and who overperformed and underperformed, marco rubio underperformed and ted cruz overperformed and time and time again the establishment money is not going to go to him. if marco rubio is out where does the money go? the old republican guard will not stand down. >> here's what they'll do. they'll go ahead and go for trump.
9:09 am
either cruz or trump, the options, as much as they want it to be marco rubio and they'll go ahead and swallow their pride and go with trump. if they don't go with cruz. it is really that simple at this >> john: let's talk about some of the democrats here. and, one of the big issues here is, bernie sanders says he's not done but the math shows he's pretty much done, why is he still in the race. >> he wants more power and a little more popularity. once he returns to the senate. that's the only place bernie sanders is going, it is over for him. >> why is he staying in? i don't get -- >> he wants the party to go left. he wants the party to go further left and wants to be the power broker that says i'm the guy that took the democrat party to the -- further left, the socialist movement and wants that status, he wants the power. he wants some say in where the democrat party goes and that is why he's in the race. >> what a night last night. how can people follow you.
