morning we kind of the best of best worlds we have cool mornings and warm afternoons. it's perfect soccer weather. i am so jealous for the folks that are going to be headed over here. probably already there, going to be tailgating very soon. i wish the orlando city soccer the best today 12678 take -- i think it's southlake they take on. i'm not really sure but maybe someone can tell me. anyway, live camera now from downtown orlando looking gorgeous as well. great way to get out the door and get motivated on this super sunday. it looks like we are going to have plenty of blue sky for everybody and temperatures are already in the 60s. we're 62 right now at orlando international. a little breakers out there and you'll notice the difference between yesterday and today and there's more sunshine, less clouds we had some clouds from the gulf of mexico yesterday but not today. all right. here's a look at our numbers. look at everybody warming up nicely. mid to upper 50s and 60s elsewhere expected to get into the lower -- to let middle to
9:18 am
no rain in the forecast as i mentioned. we'll be dry as we head through the next 5, 6 maybe even 7 days. you can never say never in florida so there's probably going to be a few stray sprinkles but i think mainly if that happens that would be at the coast. so i wanted to touch on this again because we've been talking about the el nino pattern how powerful it was last year and it's still had its grip right now. the storm system that caused all the flooding in the big surf in california now it's going to switch over to a huge snow maker through the sierras and through the rockers and eventually when it hits in the central planes could be severe weather so we're looking at that tomorrow if you're traveling across the central planes this might cause some delays. we are concerned about the severe weather threat. we got this big h kind of sitting off our coast and that will keep things away from us so usually we get a cold front or at least pieces of it and then usually once a week but not this week so we're going to be warming up to above normal. our normal high for this time of the year is in the mid to upper 70s. 77 on average.
9:19 am
we'll be just a bit above that. by a few degrees but just so nice. mid-80s for daytime highs, no humidity out there, morning lows in the upper 50s and low 60s. perfect weather for us and really if you had to pinpoint when it's going to start to get much warmer here probably maybe later this month or more like april we'll start to see that humidity creep back into the forecast. we do have some winds coming on shore as i mentioned a little rougher here along the coastline for bike week down into cocoa beach and, of course, down into even further south into indian river and up into flagler as well so keep in mind that the seas will be running a little higher and check in with those lifeguards if you are headed into the water or enjoying some fishing today. it will be rougher out there. meanwhile, temperatures for us today, mid to upper 70s as i mentioned just a bit cooler at the coast because of that wind. tonight, cool, we'll be in the lower 50s across the interior for 40s up for the north but then another warm day onset for us tomorrow, in fact, as i mentioned that trend will be even warmer as we head through

there's things we need to be aware of and we'll start with the first 100 automatically taking the standard deduction. >> yeah, many people think well, you know, it's kind of a hassle keeping track of my inferrible contributions excess medical expenses. take the standard deduction if you're single 6300. married filing joint it's 12,600. so if you have more itemized deductions than that you need to itemize your deductions because you're leaving money on the table. don't just automatically take the standard deduction. >> otherwise, you could be missing -- it's going to take a little while to do the standardized deduction. >> keeping track of all those expenses and being sure you're taking advantage of it. >> the next one choosing the wrong filing status. >> yeah, if you're married filing jointly, married filing separately, single or head of household those are the 4 different categories so you want to take advantage of the best one that's best for you. the further on down the list like single you don't get as much benefit of some of the deductions. >> what as head of household a

those up if you're filing taxes. >> this is where you split up and someone passed away and you have to file your last return as head of household is not as good as married filing jointly but sometimes -- >> okay, not checking for errors. i know this is a big one. we want to get rushed through it and get the money back. >> if you don't check for your errors -- this is what's going to flag an audit. because the irs gets a copy of your w2s, they get a copy of your 1099s the interest that you received and any outside income and if you don't put it on the right line the right calculation could she made but if you don't put it on the right line it could cause an audit which isn't a pleasant -- >> which could cost you a lot of time and money. >> and aggravation. >> and aggravation, yes. also choosing the wrong way to >> well, what you don't want to do is run out and if you owe some money put on a high interest rate credit card. if you get ahold of the irs they will work with you but what you don't want to do is exacerbate a problem, you're short on cash, you know, put on a credit card or heaven forbid one of those

talk to the irs. they'll work with you. >> you're good about that. it takes a while to get through. unfortunately they've cut their staff. >> but they are good about working with you if you say, hey, look, i'm struggling financing financially -- >> they will work with you. what you don't want to do is run from the irs because they will -- >> they will find you. no question about it. >> also filing late that's the last one on your list. >> what you don't want to do is miss the opportunity of getting your taxes in on time. this year we have until april 18th. generally it's april 15th because of a federal holiday which falls on a friday you can now have up until april 18th so we have an extra weekend if you don't file on time it's automatic 5% penalty of what you owe and 5% per month with a matchup up to 25%. so if you can't file on time get what you owe and file what's called a 48 seven which is an extension which gets you up to october 15th. >> joe, great advice. where you can people find you.
