florida... where bernie sanders will hold a rally today. thousands of supporters are expected to attend the rally. the democratic presidential candidate will speak to u-f students and gainesville residents at 11-am. doors open at 8-am. between 4-thousand and 8-thousand people are expected to attend. later this afternoon-- sanders will travel to kissimmee.. where he will hold another rally. right now-- sanders has a lot of work ahead of him. hillary clinton continues to dominate polls in

quinnipiac poll shows clinton with a 30-percent lead over sanders. right now-- she has 62-percent of the vote. but let's not forget.. polls in michigan had sanders trailing clinton by as much as 30 points - but the vermont senator ended up beating her in tuesday's primary. last night, the two clashed during a debate in miami. fox 35's mike synan has a look at all the fireworks. looking at the republican side....

central florida.. after they say a mother abducting her own kids. detectives say she took them from an albany home... where another one of her children was found dead. marion county deputies arrested 28-year-old "clarion garrison" last night in ocala... after she set off an amber alert. right now an autopsy is being performed to determine how her 2-year-old girl died. the "albany herald" reports at least one person will be charged in the death. the three children she's accused of abducting were not injured. new details this - z9 an attempted abduction in polk county. deputies just released this sketch of the man they say tried to lure an 11- year-old girl into his car on tuesday afternoon. we are told she had just gotten off her school bus-- on ronald reagan parkway and thousand oaks boulevard in davenport. deputies say there are cameras in that area... but they did not capture any of this happening. breaking this a manhunt is underway -- following a deadly shooting at a backyard party in pennsylvania. police say the

three others. investigators say it happened around 11 o'clock last night in the town of wilkinsburg. some of the surviving victims are in critical condition. right now... police believe there were at least two shooters. but they still haven't determined a motive. this morning -- seminole county is fighting to keep bullets away from black bears. they are considering an ordinance that would ban hunting the animals within the county. county leaders say... bear hunts do little to reduce the number of bears wandering into neighborhoods. instead, officials say homeowners should lock up their trash and bring in their pet food bowls at night. 304 bears were killed across florida in last year's hunt -- but only four of those were in seminole county. still ahead-- fined... over garbage? who is facing penalties... for leaving filled trash cans outside homes. plus-- new developments in the zika virus. the first sexually transmitted case has been confirmed in central florida. find out if officials are closer to

florida... the zika virus has been spread through sexual transmission. the state health department says this case involves a polk county resident... who recently traveled outside of the country. governor rick scott is now asking the c-d-c to meet with florida's healthcare workers... to provide the most up-to-date information on the disease, its symptoms, and how it can be treated. however... .the "world health organization" says a vaccine is only in the early stages. because of that.... officials are looking at new ways to combat the virus.... including insecticide sprays. there's another factor which could

teacher-- accused of being drunk on the job-- is out of jail on bond. that teacher-- holly joel-- bonded out of jail yesterday. police say joel was drunk while in charge of a classroom full of kids at bentley elementary in sanford. authorities say the principal noticed joel acting strangely during classroom checks... ...saying she was swaying, closing her eyes, and stumbling. officers found alcohol in a water bottle, and prescription pills in her purse. joel is charged with child neglect and public intoxication. eminole county public schools says she has since been fired. a motorcycle racing champion is accused of attacking a daytona beach police officer.

officers responded to a disturbance on ocean avenue and main street-- late monday night. they claim biker-- danny eslick-- pushed a woman to the ground... and then shoved and punched an officer. authorities arrested eslick... but he has bonded out of jail. according to a report in "cycle news" -- he still plans to race for his third straight "daytona 200" championship on saturday. new details in the case of a child left inside of a daycare van --for almost five hours. it happened last october, at "winners preschool" in orlando. yesterday-- one of three workers-- who are facing charges-- appeared in court. 43-year-old shannon johnson pleaded no contest. that document-- was a piece of paper saying who was on the bus. d-c-f says policies were not followed-- and that is why the

help could be coming for the families of first responders killed in the line of duty. a bill that changes the state's pension plan is on its way to the governor. yesterday lawmakers passed the bill known as the "scott pine law." if the governor signs it, the families of first responders killed in the line of duty will get 100 percent of that officer's salary every year for life. it's a big change that started with bridget pine, the widow of

sheriff's deputy---scott pine. the bill is retroactive to 20-13. meaning--families who lost an officer after 20-13 will see their benefits increased. state lawmakers also voted to eliminate a 19th century law--banning unmarried men and women from living together. florida is one of only a handful of states that still has a law making co- habitation illegal. the bill now goes to governor rick scott's desk. a bill putting more

florida is also ready for the governor's signature. it would close at least six of florida's 65 abortion clinics. it would also take away state funding from health centers that offer elective abortions. happening today-- ten apopka first responders are going to new york to honor the heroes who died in the 9/11 attack. firefighter, chris lenihan, feels close to the new york fire department. his uncle, brian fahey, on the far right, was a new york city firefighter. he died fighting a fire three months before the september eleventh attacks. on 9/11, his entire crew died at the world trade center. lenihan thinks his uncle would have died there, too. lenihan and the other apopka first responders are going to take part in the second annual "firefighters stair climb" sunday, climbing up the 72 floors at "four world trade center."

your first headline comes from fox news insider. it reads "a powerful message from a married police officer couple is going viral" brittany hilton is a police officer in texas. last month she posted this photo with her husband...who is also a police officer. the picture was from thanksgiving when the couple gave up their holiday to keep their community safe. along with the photo she wrote a long note... urging people to stop speaking badly against officers. saying "think before you speak. your words could promote deadly actions. " since being posted the picture has been shared more than 9 million times. your next headline comes from usa today-- it reads "pentagon report... justifies deployment of military spy drones over the u.s." a report from the pentagon shows that drones have been deployed to spy over u-s terrirtory for non-military missions.

ready to make their public debut. the "little" guy is the second giraffe born at the zoo... in under four months. a female giraffe was born last november. time to take a look at the stories making headlines around florida. first-- an impromptu traffic stop... turned into a potentially deadly situation-- for a jacksonville detective. the "jacksonville sheriff's office" shared this picture... on their facebook page. police say 19-year- old "kevin rojas" -- jumped out of his car... and opened fire... after he was pulled over. the detective was off-duty at the time-- with his teenage son in the car. that detective was shot in the head, hand, and upper- body. his son was not hurt. you can see the damange to the detective's car. police say they tracked down "rojas"... and shot him... after he did not

"rojas" is alive-- and in custody. the detective... is in critical --but stable condition -- at the hospital. a jacksonville mother is recovering-- after old son shot her in the back! it happened tuesday afternoon. "jamie gilt" was driving in putnam county, when the boy shot her from the back seat. investigators say "gilt" is the legal owner of the gun, and it was in the vehicle legally. but-- authorities say they are going to speak with "gilt" to determine if any charges will be filed. as of right now-- "gilt" is in stable condition at the hospital. in south florida-- a group of ponies are back home safely-- after breaking free -- and running along the turnpike for nearly an hour. the horses sent authorities on a wild chase-- just north srk\de county yesterday. during their escape--the ponies also made their way into a residential neighborhood. people who lived
