>> amy: a deadly crash shut down i-4. it happened at sand lake road. we have an update on the traffic situation. it is starting to improve just a little bit. >> john: plus, you decide, 2016. the polls are now open for the |s last 50 seconds. the florida and republican democratic primers are on the way. what you need to know if you vote today. >> amy: officers in lake county are looking for a man who is impersonating a police officer. we'll tell you what you need to look at coming up. let's get over to kristin, we're seeing glimmers of hope. >> reporter: this is a live look at i-4 east bound orb or westbound at sand lake. this is where the crash occur occurred. it shut down all westbound lanes of i-4 for several hours. now one lane appears to be open and moving slowly but still things are moving slowly in this area. i have an alternate route if you

it wouldn't be a bad idea. you can see all of this road from kirkman to sand lake in the westbound lane of i-4. if you want to avoid it all together. take the florida turnpike to 528 and get around it that way. we have a new crash here at golden rod road and 408 causing significant delays on golden rod. we'll keep our eye os that. drive times will take you 15 minutes. eastbound from the attract to down town will take you 13 minutes. if you're using 408 to down town that will take you 11 minutes. time to get a check of the weather. brooks, how does it look out there? >> good morning, everybody. we're starting to see the first light of day. what a beautiful scene this is. looking live down town orlando. 69 degree. southwest winds coming in. this is the amway camera, should be a glorious sunrise areawide. yesterday morning we had rain and a lot of clouds.

melbourne. 63 in gainesville. once again, we're going to see predominantly sunny skies today. here we go. temperatures warm into the 70s and then in the upper 80s for highs today. 89 degree with west winds coming in. i doubt we'll see a sea breeze at the beach today. we'll get the full seven-day frafd in a few. john, amy? >> john: let's get live to holly bristow live at the scene on i-4. >> reporter: a very busy and sad morning here on kirkman and sand lake road. you see one of the lanes, two of the lanes are slow. traffic moving slowly after troopers tell us a wrong-way driver caused a fatality right here on the westbound of i-4. it's unclear where the wrong-way driver got on the interstate.

a taxi driver head on, killing both of them. i asked troopers if they know what the cause could have been at this point for the driver going the wrong way. >> we found a bottle of hennessy in the wrong-way driver's front seat. that's typically the number one reason why people drive the wrong way. >> reporter: i talked with kim montez, telling me they are waiting on next of kin on the taxi driver and driver of the green minivan that caused the wreck. troopers tell us they are not sure when the entire westbound lanes will be open. the two closest to the center lane are still closed. one lane is completely open as is the exit ramp. obviously, as soon as we get more information we'll pass that on to you. holly bristow.

>> amy: it is primary day in florida. right now. >> 444444444444l also head to the polls in ohio, illinois, missouri, and north carolina today. for the republicans, there are 358 delegates at stake. for the democrats we're talking 691. several presidential hopefuls will spend the day in the sunshine state campaigning. marco rubio holding an event in miami. donald trump in palm beach and hillary clinton also will be in palm beach today. also the orange county supervisor of elections predicts 2008. in seminole. it's predicted 45%. the big story is the republicans 20% turnout for early voting. that's a dramatic jump compared to 2008. >> amy: right now the lose.

how they are running away with this? the sunshine state. >> if she's polls are accurate. the latest quinnipiac poll shows hillary clinton leading bernie sanders 62-32%. we'll see if we see a surprise or not. republicans a little closer. monmouth university poll showing trump leading marco rubio 44 to 27. the numbers here, ted cruz sitting in third with 17% of the vote. the winner in florida -- guys, good to see you. thanks for coming in in on superduper tuesday. let's start with you in the news room. what will we expect to see today? >> i think you'll see

irrespective of what side of the fence you're on. republican or democrat, you need to under this is, for many, a generational vote. i think it's clear that despite all of the hyperbole, it's absolutely true they're moving the country in a different direction. we're getting out of the obama administration era. s chooing a new leadership on the republican side that will take the future. not just the supreme court but really the course of the nation and trajectory from foreign policy, from economic, et. we'll see a lot of voter turnout. >> let's talk about that. voter turnout is expected to be high. why do you think that is. everybody got a theory. what is yours on this? >> i just think people are excited and i think a lot of -- let's face it. i think trump has brought a lot of people out. i think the same is true for ted cruz. insurgents in the race have got people excited. you got bernie sanders that have

think people want to get out and make their guy win, if you will. so, i think it will be an exciting race. i think the polls are pretty accurate. i think more than likely, donald trump will take home the prize in florida. i think it will be a contest for second for more corubio and ted cruz. two weeks ago. ted cruz has been actually outpolling or doing better than the polls suggest almost by ten points on average. >> if marco rubio doesn't win florida which doesn't look like i well. will he get out? should he get out to i guess put cruz in position to beat trump? >> yes, i think he will get out. i heard rumors what he needs to do, he wants to go out with a different persona than the whole fiasco with the joking about donald trump. he wants to go out on a different note from what i under and what i'm hearing. i think he will bow out if he

>> on the democratic side. bernie sanders said what happened in michigan will happen again. >> it's not going to happen in florida. won't happen in north carolina. hillary has tremendous leads in both states. she's been running ads as folks in florida know. i was in north carolina this weekend. i can attest to it as well. she's relying on the strong support for the african-american community. running ads with the voice of morgan freeman. some call it the voice of god. sandra rimes, following thursday night on abc. stars of both shows, he has that support and she bernie sanders has a shot in illinois. but that's hillary clinton's home state. >> a couple seconds left. what is the story line tomorrow morning? >> the story line is the delegate race belongs to hillary clinton no matter what type of impact bernie sanders might

she found out from an instagram post and said he was the oldest of her four children and she will miss his smile. >> happy, outgoing, out spoken. loved being around his family. it breaks my heart. >> amy: family members say they are hopeful someone will call in with information leading to deputies to whoever is responsible. tonight's vigil is set for 8:00 p.m. in stark lake. >> john: also, the search is on for a man impress nating police in lake county. the suspect was spotted pulling over a woman near the beef o'brady just before 11:00 monday night. employees at the restaurant watched the whole thing happen. the suspect was waivering a brown uniform carrying a gun. he took off with black brown

>> amy: and a florida teenager finds a naked man in her shower. >> john: this happened in spring hill north of tampa. luanne is live with details. good morning, lu? >> reporter: a 13-year-old girl shower. she got scared. climbed out of her window and ran to a neighbor's home. when police arrived they found this man, 35-year-old joshua noble locked in the bathroom stripped down to his birthday suit while the teens and their mother was sleeping in the house. he told police he has no idea how he got there. he only remembers leaving a bar with his wife. >> they were walking home and became involved in an argument and they got separated. he said he thought he was in his own home. he didn't harm anybody or talk to anybody. he just went in and got in the shower. >> oh, boy. police say a man got in the home

it's like a little cocoon. and despite putting titanium or a tank in front of here, you're still going to have some damage when you have a rapid deceleration, or impact to the brain. now, what this study showed and why i think it's so important for parents to hear, is the fact that they looked at about 5,000 concussions. and they found that properly fitting helmets, reduced the severity and symptoms of those concussions. and so the key, amy, is to make sure that -- now, this is a hockey helmet, but the helmet that your child is wearing, must fit properly. it has to be the right size and a qualified trainer needs to make sure that it's adjusted. and you can see there are ways to adjust helmets. the other thing that research found, you want to make sure that the helmet does not have

you need to have foam or jell inside that also lead to a reduction in symptoms of concussion. >> all right, doc, how do you know -- wow, they key fixing the camera. look how tiny i am now. i wish you could see me. it's really bizarre. is there a way to test to see if the helmet actually fits? how do you know? >> well, you don't. the study -- researchers basically said, look. you need to have someone that knows what they're doing. you really shouldn't trust parents or even coaches. you need trainers. that is critical, especially for our young people. you want to make sure that someone knows what they are doing when they take care of such an important part of the uniform like the helmet. you want to make sure that someone knows how to adjust that helmet, and to check itten 0 a regular basis for damage, whether it got loose.

whether the bladders inside have been damaged. that's all critical stuff to prevent our young people from having significant or potentially lifetime-long problems, amy. >> amy: i know it would be expensive. it would be nice if we get everybody their own custom fit, custom size helmet to make sure it fits. i know it's a problem for growing kids but sure makes a difference. >> i think this is such an important issue. i have a son who is 7 and a daughter who is 4. it really worries me they will want to play contact sports and even soccer. and heading the ball, and am i doing them a disservice? as a parent, i worry about all of these things and i think we're going to keep looking at data and research so that we can have our kids not be in a bubble, but to be safe and have a wonderful life and use their

take a look at your drive times. i-4 westbound will take you 19 minutes. eastbound from the attractions to down town will take 18 minutes and if you're using the 408 from 417 to down town will take you 12 minutes. john, amy, back to you. >> let's get to fox 35's holly bristow. she's at the scene of the deadly wrong-way crash. holly? >> right now, officials are investigating a deadly crash that happened around 3:30 this morning. a green minivan, got on i-4, or did a u-turn on i-4. it's unclear how this happened at this point and drove head-on right into a taxi driver. we're told the drivers of both cars died out here on the scene. i asked troopers if they have any idea why the driver of the minivan might have been going

>> we found a bottle of hennessy in the van driver, the wrong way driver's front seat and there was a smell of alcoholic beverage. we're waiting for toxicology but that's typically the reason people drive the wrong way. >> right now we're rating on the identity of the two drivers they are waiting next of kin. holly bristow, fox 35 news. >> amy: thanks, holly. polls have been open for about half hour. florida is one of five states today. >> john: polls open at 7:00. lines are expected to be moderate. the supervisor of elections predicts 47% turnout. in seminole county officials predict a 5% turnout. they say the big story is the republicans' 25% turnout for early voting. that's a dramatic jump compared

force like ghtly. it's very serious. >> amy: last year they pull 700 guns off the street and officers were forced to use their own openens dozens of times. >> john: and the man outside of the wwe facility must undergo a mental evaluation. >> reporter: good morning. this man was not in court but his attorney was. he is charged with aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer but his attorney argues he is not fit to stand trial. he's been previously diagnosed with bipolar disorder. he'll be back in court on may 20th. the alma mater of a virginia police officer fatally shot on her first day is holding a memorial service for her. they will hold a service for her on march 22nd.

while responding to a domestic dispute at a home in wood bridge, virginia. it was her first day on patrol. and orange county leaders doing what they can to stop the ongoing heroin epidemic. the county has seen a spike in heroin deaths in the last four years. there were 14 deaths. last year there were 82 heroin-related deaths. the county has created a heroin task force that worked to get 70 additional detox beds battling that addict. they're trying to get a drug that acts like antivenom for overdoses. county judges are also working to combat this problem to increase bond amounts for people charged with selling that drug. amy, john, over to you. >> john: leaders are hoping to

the grand scheme of things doesn't matter much but it is interesting. >> amy: we're all about it. a new survey takes a look at credit score for people that support each of the candidates ryan joins us with details. >> ryan: this is interesting. this is wallet hub.com that asks people who they plan to vote for. 60% of john kasich's supporters have excellent credit scores. highest of any candidate. marco rubio second at 58%. survey found 26% of hillary clinton supporters actually have bad credit scores the most of any candidate. bernie sanders and donald trump are next with 22 and 23%. are your three worst right there. clinton, sanders and trump supporters have the worst credit. >> amy: that's interesting. what does that mean? >> john: you can read a lot into it. your two front-runners.

that's next tuesday march 22nd at 1:30. later today we're expected to see the roster making the trip for the big game. this is expected to be longer than the usual 25 players allotted for a game to account for replacements needed due to injuries or unforeseen circumstances. the rays' manager said they're still learning. having roster count will shape up themselves. the trip will be a nice break for the rays currently in a thick of spring training in'charlotte. but will provide excitemen t and` break up a pretty grueling spring training schedule.| we'll learn a big name in baseball. derek jeter will be taking in the game along with other baseball greats. they are expected to attend various events including hosting baseball clinics for local kids

we also have a crew on the way to the scene and we'll give you an update as soon as we get more information. >> amy: time to look at stories making headlines in florida. >> john: new details in the wrong-way crash that killed a deputy in hillsboro county. now it's believed he sacrificed himself. sarah said she was driving when she saw head lights headed at her. an the deputy raced around her and crashed into the car. the 30-year-old was taken to the hospital where he later died. the deputy intentionally blocked the wrong-way driver saving the lives of her boyfriend and her and many others. >> this man put himself in front of us as a human shield. absolutely. >> there were no mistakes made. he did what he did intentionally and saved my daughter and her
