news alert.. investigators are trying to figure out what sparked a massive fire.. that destroyed an iconic cocoa beach mansion. the fire broke out around 9 o'clock last night.... on third street and atlantic avenue. "florida today" reports... firefighters had a hard time fighting the blaze... because of high winds and issues with water supply. the home was once owned by "al neuharth"-- who founded "u-s-a today"

a brand new library. the new 30-million dollar library will replace the "rachel d. murrah civic center" at martin luther king, jr. park. that library... is more than 35 years old -- and has not been renovated since 19-94. the plan also includes building a new events center-- and a one-story parking garage. the project is expected to take 2 years to complete. in volusia county.. *ms families will soon have a place to sleep. the school district is working on a plan to convert a vacant elementary school into a homeless shelter. the daytona beach news journal reports... the district voted last night... to partner with the county... to convert "hurst elementary school" into a shelter. right now, the district only uses a maintenance building at hurst. the shelter is expected to open next year. it will have enough room for 300 parents and kids. it will also include a

developing this morning-- the downtown campus for the university of central florida is finally "a go." yesterday-- governor rick scott approved 20- million dollars in state funding for the project, when he approved the state budget. u-c-f's provost says... the new campus will make a big impact on the city of orlando. 444444444444u-c-f is also gathering 16-million dollars in donations-- and putting in 20-million dollars out of pocket for the project. the campus is scheduled to open in 20-17. in volusia county-- spring breakers have descended on daytona beach. and police are out in full force! officers say they have made hundreds of spring break- related arrests already... ...even though the city is trying to push a family-friendly atmosphere. many say this year seems busier than

march 22. it was a rough start for voting in orange county... with some precincts running out of ballots... after the polls opened. that sent election officials scrambling to find a solution. people say they showed-up to some polling stations... only to find out they could not vote. about a dozen places were effected. all of them were in the six orange county cities holding elections. the "elections supervisor" says a printing error caused the problem. some voters who showed-up during the ballot shortage were given absentee ballots. some were sent to other polling sites.... while others vote in the "quick line".... which is usually reserved for the disabled. the search is on for a group of home invasion suspects,
