>> she rammed the car over here in this area, and then we tried to get away, and police say both of them ended up about a quarter of a mile away here at the gas station. and she rammed the back of the car. >> she said her cousin called 911. >> and she told the police can you please send someone out and she's raming the car and she don't care if she has kids in the car. >> they arrested 27-year-old -- come and charged her with five counts of aggravated battery and according to the arrest report, she told police that she was serving an injunction and that they were throwing objects at her car. >> the police is supposed to serve you. i don't know -- >> police say five people were in the white ford taurus, including sharonda and her baby. >> and the kids in the car were spooky, and my daughter and my

woman was driving home from dropping off her foreign exchange student and she was in the back, sleep walking and deputies say 18-year-old were -- jumped into the passenger front seat and the woman got so scared she jumped out and that's when she said that she got into the driver's seat and took off. >> so once they stole the car -- >> she ended up crashing into this pole and motorists stopped and pulled them from the burning suv, including jeff richie. >> helped them get the guy out of the car so we could get them blow -- >> there was a gentleman dragging the man out and it was already -- the car was already on fire and he was dragging the man out and next thing you see is, you know, the the car burst into flames, probably 20-foot flames coming out of that car. >> a family tells us they're just happy they're all together again deputies at at this point don't know why the man jumped in that woman's car in the first

joyce, fox 35 news. >> the sheriff's county office is trying to figure out how a bb gun end up and the gun was in a student's backpack this morning. the gun was turned over to the sheriff's office and the school was not on lockdown and we are told that no other students were threatened. >> an unusual story from claremont after a woman is pulled over on a busy road and she followed the fake cop and she called for help. now, florida highway patrol is explaining what really happened. >> tom johnson has details. >> this started sunday night when a woman in claremont was pulled over by a man driving an unmarked vehicle that had police emergency lights on it and it's a man she told an a claremont officer she believes was a fake cop. >> the stuff happened in the parking lot of this claremont shopping center and the woman's story prompted claremont police to issue a warning that that there may be a man driving

there is a police report and in -- there is a police report, and reported the officer was clearly in uniform and dressed in brown. the witness went on to say, he believed that the man was an officer, and it turns out the cop was a highway patrol lieutenant, and he was driving an unmarked patrol car, just like the one in this fot oh the patrol gave to us. when the trooper approached the woman's car in this lot, he realized she is actually his neighbor. >> he chose -- under our policy, which is correct -- it's a warning, gets in his car and goes home. >> the police report says the claremont officer contact dispatch to see if anyone conducted a traffic stop in this area. the answer came back no, but the highway patrol says it has no evidence of any lake county law enforcement agency call him. >> we have not been able to locate him a call between 10:00 pm and 12:00 am of this particular incident so right now we do not believe we were notified. >> claremont police have since issued this news release,

the trooper made the stop and did not contact patrol dispatch because he recognized the car and driver. we contacted claremont police to find out how this could have gone out as a police impersonator when one of the witnesses said that the person who pulled the woman over was in uniform. we were told by a police captain here at claremont pd that the department would not comments any further beyond what was put out in that news release. in claremont, tom johnson, fox 35 news. >> federal authorities have arrested a suspected drug smuggler after they found six pounds of heroin on the traveler. this happened on sunday, and customs officers were checking a backpack belonging to a 20-year-old man arriving from a flight from mexico city. they found those rugs. the man and the drugs both handed over to homeland security. and osceola county man who was once profiled in america's most wanted is back in court today.

on an attempted murder charge when he escaped the osceola county jail back in 2010 and he was thrown back in a maximum security jail in the panhandle. today there was a hearing for his escape case because his original sentence was overturned on a legal question. today, he was supposed to be resentenced and then after all of that, he ended up -- with more of a whimper than a bang. his brother told fox 35, he thinks that rigby should be released and that keeping nim prison should be vindictive. >> vindictive because of all the corruption. they needed a scapegoat. go to osceola scapegoat, and you'll see everything you need to see. >> he'll be back in court may 20th. >> and in your evening rush tonight's, several kids sick after swiming in a pool at a local apartment complex. north county firefighters say the kid got sick for a water -- so apparently had too much chlorine. double the normal limb -- limits.

some changes and these cold fronts don't get down here and right now, live radar currently is rain-free, so we're look don't you know here for this evening but look at the rainfall forecast, and this should be rainfall totals through saturday evening, so rights in and out, indicating anywhere from about a quarter to half of an inch of rain in the metro area and a little bit further to the north and it's pretty long out -- and it's only wednesday, and you kind of get the idea, and basically call it half to three quarters of an inch of rain, and it will be some isolated areas with heavier amounts through saturday. 87 in sanford right in and out, and 80 in melbourne, and a little bit out -- 79 degrees, and our winds still coming out of the west and still making it cooler along that west coast and definitely warm in the east coast and the air gets warmer and warmer and warmer as it goes into the grounds but there's enough moisture to produce a few

times and north northwesterly wind and high temperature today hit officially, and 78 degrees is our normal high temperature and 56 our early morning low and that was still running ten degrees warmer than normal so it looks like some of the brief showers, the faf for tomorrow, and our best chance for rain. still looks to be friday and also on saturday, also mixed in could be an isolated strong thunderstorm during the day on saturday, fonl we get enough heat to bubble up -- bubble that storm. 80 degrees in tampa, 80 in miami, and 84 in jacksonville. here is our first front and it's going ooh fade away during the day tomorrow. plenty of moisture, though, beginning ooh build. and you're trying to get an idea that we will definitely start to see more and more cloud cover, and in the coming days. big storm system here in the great lakes and actually important to us because it is taping into some co444444444444temperatures that change the rain into a very heavy wet snow

then we'll continue to pull down some more cool air, so sooner or later, and it looks like it's going to be sooner, it will this be weekend and we'll finally start to see those temperatures drop down to the 70s, which is where they should be and this is the front as we get into thursday. tomorrow some scattered showers around and as we get into the day on friday, here comes the next cold front. also squeeze don't you know a chance for some scattered showers, possibly a rubble of thunder and the cool air beginning to move in our direction and really starts to settle and as i mentioned for the weekend and also for next week. it shows up on my seven-day forecast and the slight chance of showers tomorrow, and a better chance for friday and saturday and there's your cooler temperatures, highs in the 70s and lows in the 40s and 50s for next week -- >> the arnold palmer invitational starts tomorrow and the field is filled with major -- >> yacht, one of those as four- time pga tour winner, ben curtis and adam shadoff caught up with a former british open --
