section of the beach around 1:30 this afternoon when the beach was packed with spring breakers. >> they are cracking down on the drinking. >> reporter: a beach patrol officer was trying to arrest 20-year-old jamie gordon for an alcohol violation when he resisted and took off running. >> our officer got into a scuffle with him and was unfortunately injured. the officer dislocated his shoulder. >> reporter: gordon was then charged with several offenses. the patrol officer says they're only two and a half weeks into the spring break season and already they've had a record number of alcohol arrests. >> our crowds are a lot bigger than the previous years for spring break. we have\gz last spring break for the month of march and april only about 94 alcohol arrests. we're way over that as of right now.

we're following some breaking news from volusia county tonight. died. he was supposed to perform tonight in daytona beach, but he had a heart attack and died. a family statement says the family is mourning the untimely passq]w&z of their son, brother, father and uncle. no other details were provided. new tonight at 10:00. it's one of the fastest lights in orange county. it's frustrated drivers blowing through the intersection all day long, and that's caused some concerns. as a local driver sent us a cell phone video and asked us to take a look at this. keith landry tells us what's wrong with lightening-fast light. it is maddening, frustrated drivers can not believe it. it's the left-hand turn, revving up driver's blood pressure
