the man pulled out a gun, trying to shoot the woman and missed, hitting the worker instead. the shooting happened outside magnolia court apartments, just west of the 414. keith landry is live with new details at the sheriff's office. >> reporter: detectives interviewed that suspect here at the sheriff's office this evening and hauled him off to jail. tonight the young accused shooter will be charged with attempted murder. tonight, emergency medical -- marked the spot where a man was hit by a stray bullet this afternoon. it happened while he was taking down a fence separating the magnolia court apartments from a playground at a daycare center next door. here's orange county sheriff's spokeswoman. >> our deputies immediately took into custody the man who was responsible for firing the gun and hitting the innocent bit stan der.

from 8:00 to 5:00 tomorrow or any day of the week during normal business hours. >> a fox 35 follow-up now, a 17-year-old boy has been arrested in the murder of 15-year-old. michael anderson faces a charge of second-degree murder in the death of antwan davis. the suspect's girlfriend is facing charges of being an accessory and tampering with evidence. 15-year-old antwan davis was found dead sunday night on the sidewalk at lakewood avenue in ocoee with a gunshot wound to the head. sheriff deputies say he was killed during a drug deal. >> it's obviously incredible unfortunate, and obviously our hearts and prayers go out to the families of these kids and many others in this type of situation and we hope that it is a wake-up call for some young men and women that are involved in that sort of thing, that it can be life-changing. >> the sheriff's office says they were able to make the

community stepping forward with tips. >> fox 35 weather authority, we are tracking some storms just in time for the weekend. >> let's check in with glenn richards. >> glenn: the good news, we're going to wash a lot of the pollen out of the sky, so that is great news. rain already coming down. fired up, right along that remnant of the east coast sea breeze. remembers yesterday's models showed scattered storms, here they are. they popped up late this afternoon. up around daytona. new ones popping up in port orange. they'll continue to grow farther to the south, back towards the cape, but slowly petering out. but definitely a big ball of rain and thunderstorms out to the west and northwest across the northern gulf of mexico. that is moving in our direction. overnight we'll have a few little bit of light showers, nothing heavy, but then as we get into the day tomorrow, this is 3:00 in the afternoon, based on our computer model, we should have a pretty large area of rain

>> breaking news from st. pete. a jury has sided with hulk hogan in his sex tape lawsuit against gawk her media. the jury that decided they want to give him $115 million after that website posted a sex tape of the wrestler online. live in st. pete tonight. >> reporter: gawker's attorneys have argued from the beginning that this case could actually set precedent for freedom of speech. they say powerful celebrities and public figures may start people. in spite of that, the jury took six hours to rule against gawker. a decision they plan to appeal right here in court come monday. >> we feel very positive about the appeal that we have been already been preparing and we ultimately. >> but as of friday, gawker had lost.

and two men, decided the new york based website must pay hulk hogan, whose legal name is terry, $55 million in economic injuries, plus $60 million for emotional injuries, after posting a sex tape of the ex-wrestler on line. >> i am confident that we would have prevailed at trial if we had been allowed to present the full case to the jury. >> key details were not permitted during the trial, according to gawker. jurors never heard from radio djbubba, his friend, who recorded him having sex with his wife. hogan and his attorney sued, saying his privacy was violated. >> this is not only his victory today but also anyone else who has been victimized by tabloid journalism, we're coming back monday for the rest of it. >> dressed in all black, hogan cried when the verdict was announced but did not speak as he left the courthouse. during trial, he said the videos release caused him lasting humiliation.

was a public figure who often discussed the sex life. the video was nothing new. >> the video they posted is not like a real celebrity sex tape. it's not like kim kardashian, not in color. you don't see close-ups, body parts. you don't see graphic sex acts in vivid details. here, nine seconds. >> in documents released friday, gawker's attorneys are raising doubt that hogan was unaware that he was being recorded. the video was never played during trial. something gawker's attorneys say could have made a difference. >> why did they not show you that video? the video that is the reason we are all here? >> although the jury was never shown hogan's sex tape in court, they were allowed to view it during deliberation if they wanted to. it's unclear how many of them, if any, took that opportunity.

confined right along the coastline. look at the rain earlier in daytona, new smyrna beach. that is it. it is done. it looks like just a chance for a few sprinkles for the next hour across central florida. look what's building to the west. a large area of thunderstorms out ahead of the developing cold front. and low pressure center. it looks like the strongest action is offshore here. but then unfortunately sitting right ashore out across portions of mississippi and louisiana. there's a lot of energy that is going to work its way towards and a half. the rainfall forecast right now, pretty good check here as to what's going on. it's getting a better handle as to what it was showing earlier today and especially during the last couple days, it was flip-flopping and going all over the place. but right now, about a 10th of an inch of rain for at least the entire area. upwards of an inch of rain in and around titusville. half an inch in orlando. .7 through flagler county. the same around gainesville.

and saint cloud and extending into melbourne, expecting to see in the green, at least half an inch to an inch of rainfall. we're going to get stripes of showers and a few thunderstorms blowing through, mainly tomorrow afternoon. 75 right now in daytona. 72 in leesburg. humidity levels, as you would expect, are back up, and with that we do have the clouds hanging arched. 75 degrees and again the moisture being up pretty high, it looks like temperatures not going to cool off too much. mainly mid to upper 60s. overnight shower possible. scattered showers tomorrow morning, and then afternoon and evening thunderstorms. that's the main bulk of the rain. and then from sunday morning, just a chance for a lingering shower. here's the big ball of energy now and there's still more farther to the west out across areas just south of louisiana. here's our stalled out front. the low will go to the northeast. i'm not expecting any rotation or anything like that had, but there will at least be a good chance that we get rain and storms in here. temperatures across the area

county to buy more of them and to help enforce its new ordinance to reduce bear versus people encounters. >> this will help to bolster the efforts of seminole county, and the people they hire to enforce this ordinance to make sure public safety comes first. >> there have been two separate bear talks where two women got hurt. he put language in the state budget that allows counties to use $125,000 from the state game trust fund to help pay for bear resistant trash cans. his provision also pulls $375,000 from last year's bear hunt license fees to help counties reduce bear versus people encounters. >> by this money coming from the bear hunting fees, we think it will be very helpful, and i think the county commissioners will find it helpful as well. >> residents think the new funds will help. >> that is very nice that they can help you -- us with that because we have a lot of bears

later into the evening. so, yes, rivers of light is kind of, i think, the cherry on top, the nighttime spectacular we're used to at other parks. there won't be fireworks but there will be lanterns and a story and water screens and imagery, you know, things like we are the world, interacting with animals. we haven't seen it yet but they're building a new amphitheater that runs 5,000 people. >> what about the nighttime safari? >> it's just kind of tweaking the safari that we're used to in the day. it's going to be sort of at sunset, lighting to it. we'll be able to see the animals on the savannah, doing whatever they do at night. and it gives you a reason to do it in the day and to do it after nightfall. >> and the tree of life is stunning and breathtaking on its own in daylight.

parked car when the crane's boom crashed down on his roof. he is now suing the city of new york for $30 million, saying the city was negligent in monitoring the manhattan construction site. >> and a wall street worker was killed by that same crane collapse. his widow also plans to file a suit. >> a 22-year-old man sentenced to five years in prison after hitting and killing a horse and injuring her rider. fox 35 kelly joyce has more on the strict sentence. >> reporter: christopher todd was given five years in prison and five years probation. he's accused of running down a horse and its rider in february of 2015. he says it was an accident. the victim says she believes he intentionally ran her down because one of her friends yelled out a racial slur because he was driving too fast. he will spend five years in prison followed by five years probation. his lawyer says he feels like that's too steep. >> a million dollars payout from

is hurt when a tree fell oscar. fox 35's valerie boey breaks down the numbers. >> reporter: an orlando man had won a 1 million-dollar case against the city after a tree fell on him while he was oscar. >> attorney matt morgan says a tree fell on his client. he says he won a $1.165 million verdict in a case against the city. he's afraid someone else will get hurt. >> the city says they've completed priority tree removals but are working on the others. they released a statement saying currently only 10% of the tree canopy is comprised of laurel oak trees. they don't plant laurel oaks anymore. only $200,000 will be paid out. >> over 100 files around palm bay, firefighters say some are suspicious. trying to figure out the mystery forcing fire and police crews to increase patrols in neighborhood

live radar looks good but earlier today we had showers and even a thunderstorm up to the north. even had showers this evening. look at these form around daytona beach, port orange, now they have dissipated, and they do continue to move away. still building out to the west is our main area of rain and that's the energy that will be moving in our direction for the overnight. as you can see, at times we'll see little sprinkles blow on through. this looks a little bit worse than what it is. it's picking up a lot of moisture in the atmosphere. offshore is where the real rain is, and then thunderstorms. this will continue to weaken overnight tonight but first thing tomorrow morning there will be a few light showers around. we're talking about 7:00, 8:00, 9:00, maybe a little sprinkle, little shower that won't last long. you can still keep your plans intact for tomorrow. 72 in leesburg. 73 in melbourne. 75 up in daytona beach. winds right now mainly coming in they'll turn out of the southwest as we go through tomorrow morning and afternoon,
