>> tia: well even the taliban is weighing in on the outcome calling on donald trump to withdraw u.s. troops from afghanistan as soon as he takes office. >> brian: well the presidential election of course wasn't the only thing on the ballot last night. we had a senate race, pretty big one in ohio. here are the final results. incumbent senator rob portman won this rather easily, 58%. ted strickland second. the democrat with 37%. >> tia: and cleveland approved the first income tax hike in 35 in agreement. 49% were not. >> brian: cleveland metropolitan school district has passed its levy and it was a blowout. 68% voted yes. 32% no. >> tia: parma city school district passed its levy as well. you can see on the screen, 62% said yes and 38% said no. >> brian: and lakewood hospital ordinance, well, that won, but

>> tia: one thing has certainly changed. the weather. it's truly beginning to feel like fall out there. it's much cooler today and a bit dreary as well. meteorologist samantha roberts joins us now with a look at the first-alert forecast. sam? >> samantha: all right, thanks so as much, tia. yes, we woke up this morning to rain and pretty mild morning temperatures for this time of the year. but the numbers have actually dropped since this morning. so it's cold and it is windy. we also have cloudy skies across northeast ohio. a little bitf trying to come down southern cuyahoga county, stretching down into medina and northern summit counties. this is very, very light rain if it's even making it down to the ground at all. it's very windy outside and it is going to stay windy all through the afternoon. winds should kind of back off just a little bit tonight. but still breezy out there even into the evening hours. there may also be a little drizzle from time to time but most of us will get through the rest of the day with mostly

>> welcome back. lakewood police continue to search for a mom missing since last month. cleveland 19 news reporter lazy crisp is at a news conference that just ended. and lacey, any new details about her disappearance? >> reporter: well the f.b.i. and lakewood police are asking for your help in finding 24-year-old rowa eldanon. she was last seen a 16. her ex-husband was charged with violating a protective order. police say he went to her apartment earlier that day but it's important to note that he has not been charged in her disappearance. lakewood police searched the metro parks yesterday in hopes of finding clues about her whereabouts, but did not find anything. >> still working through some leads and things that we have, but we have not been able to locate rowa at all. there hasn't been any contact

nichole vrsansky spoke with him about how to best cope with that sense of loss. >> people are extremely passionate about this election. and there's going to be a sense of loss. >> nichole: and the best way to deal with that loss according to dr. borland? >> i'm a big believer in the benefits of physical exercise, i'm a big believer in deep-breathing exercises as methods of coping. >> nichole: he also suggests grabbing a pen and paper. >> writing down their fears then going through and really looking at each one and saying, you know, is this a valid fear? and if it is, how can i cope with it? >> nichole: other coping suggestions include monitoring what you are looking at on social media. especially if it gets overwelming. focus on the present, not the what ifs. and know that you can't control the behavior of others. >> while there may be differing viewpoints and differing values, what i would really recommend is

portions of stark and wayne counties, you might be seeing some light rain in these areas. the general movement of this is off to the south. so, tuscarawas county t wouldn't surprise me, southern stark county, if you saw a little light rain closer to 12:30 or 1:00. i don't think we will see much, if anything, in the way of measurable rain for the rest of the day. i think any precipitation that we see would just be drizzle through the afternoon. it will be cold and windy, though. i think that wind has been the annoy answer for us today. right? you walk outside, your hair is like immediately in your face. that's exactly the kind of weather we have been dealing with. temperatures only in the upper 40s for the rest of the day with mostly cloudy skies, as well. let's talk about tonight's forecast because i do think the wind will back off a little bit for us tonight. it's still going to be breezy, but if the wind woke you up last night, it was really rattling the windows, it's not going to be that windy tonight.

the election. and, i had a chance to invite him to come to the white house tomorrow to talk about making sure that there is a successful transition between our presidencies. now, it is no secret that the president-elect and i have some pretty significant differences. but remember, eight years ago, president bush and i had some pretty significant differences. but president bush's team could not have been more professional or more gracious in making sur that we could hit the ground running. and one thing you realize quickly in this job is that the presidency and the vice president sigh is bigger than any of us. so i have instructed my team to follow the example that president bush's team set eight years ago and work as hard as we can to make sure that this is a successful transition for the president-elect. because we are now all rooting

leading the country. the peaceful transition of power is one of the hallmarks of our democracy. and over the next few months, we are going to show that to the world. i also had a chance last night to speak with secretary clinton. and i just had a chance to hear her remarks. i could not be prouder of her. she has lived an extrordinary life of public service. she was a great fst for the state of new york. and, she could not have been a better secretary of state. i am proud of her. a lot of americans look up to her. her candidacy and nomination was historic and sends a message to our daughters all across the country that they can achieve at the highest levels of politics. and, i am absolutely confident that she and president clinton

for people here in the united states and all around the world. now, everybody is sad when their side loses an election. but the day after, we have to remember that we are actually all on one team. is this an intramural scrimage. we aren't democrats first, or republicans first, we are americans first. we are patriots first. we all want what's best for this country. that's what i heard in mr. trump's remarks last night. that's what i heard when i spoke to him. directly. and i was heartened by that. that's what the country needs. a sense of unity, a sense of inclusion, a respect for our

rule of law, and a respect for each other. i hope that he maintains that spirit throughout this transition and i certainly hope that's how his presidency has a chance to begin. i also told my team today to keep their heads up. because, the remarkable work that they have out, often without a lot of fanfare, often with a lot of attention, work in agencies, work in obscure areas of policy that make government run better and make it more responsive, and make it more efficient and make it more service friendly so that it's actually helping more people, that remarkable work has

stronger, better country than the one that existed eight years ago. so, win or lose, in this election, that was always our mission. that was our mission from day one. and everyone on my team should be extraordinarily proud of everything that they have done. and so should all the americans that i have had a chance to meet all across this country who do the hard work of building on that progress every singly. teachers in schools, doctors in e.r. clinic, small businesses, putting their all into starting something up. making sure they are treating their employees well, all the important work that's done by moms and dads and families and congregations, in every state, the work of perfecting this

so this was a long and hard-fought campaign. a lot of our fellow americans are exaltant today. a lot of americans are less so. but that's the nature of campaigns. that's the nature of democracy. it is hard. and, sometimes contentious and noisy. it's not always inspiring. but, to the young people, who got into politics for the firsti the results, i just want you to know you have to stay encouraged. don't get cynical. don't ever think you can't make a difference. the secretary clinton said this morning fighting for what is right is worth it. sometimes you lose an argument.

you know the path this country has taken has never been a straight line. we zig and zag and sometimes you know we move in ways that some people think is forward and others think is moving back. and that's ok. i've lost elections before. joe hasn't but -- [laughter] -- u been sort of. >> remember you beat me badly. that's the way politics works sometimes. we try really hard to persuade people that we're right. and then people vote. and then if we lose, we learn from our mistakes, we do some reflection, we lick our wounds,

back in the arena. we go at it. we try even harder the next time. the point is that we all go forward with the presumption of good faith in our fellow citizens. because that presumption of good faith is essential to a vibrant and functioning democracy.isouns moved forward for 240 years. that's how we pushed bou world. that's how we've expanded the rights of our founding to reach all of our citizens. it's how we have come this far, and that's why i'm confident that this incredible journey that we're on as americans will go on, and i'm looking forward to doing everything i can to make sure that the next president is successful in that. i have said before, i think of
