>> what are you grabbing me for? don't grab me, man. >> tia: now at noon on cleveland 19 news, trouble in the wal-mart parking lot in canton when suspected shoplifters are confronted by police. the three-minute encounter caught on camera by someone in the parking lot. >> brian: it was getting pretty tense as you can see in the video. then it got cleveland 19 reporter lacey crisp joins us more with more on the story. >> reporter: good afternoon. it was caught on camera last night on camera on west tuscarawas street. the officer was following a woman suspected of shoplifting. the confrontation was quite heated. >> don't you do it. don't you do it. -- shoot you -- >> oh, he -- yeah he turned

>> hey! hold it! get out of the car! get out of the car! >> watch out, bro. he about to shoot 'em. >> the driver ignored the officer's commands and eventually pulled away and left the parking lot. he was pulled over after a brief chase. police arrested aaron buckly, troy goredman and eric thurman. they are all locked up in the stark county jail. though no one was hurt at the scene. investigatorou now we are asking questions about the incident right now and we will bring you what we learned starting first at 4:00. >> brian: all right, thank you. well it's official. every cleveland police cruiser will have a dash-cam thanks to a half million dollar grant from outgoing cuyahoga county prosecutor tim mcguinty. cleveland city council voted last night to accept the cash. it comes from the forfeitures of convicted criminals. the dash-cam as they choose will

back doors are open to arrest someone. they will also automatically trigger the officer's body camera. >> tia: an akron man being held on $1.5 million bond accused of stabbing his own grandmother to death. investigators say nathan huff stabbed 70-year-old leena clime last friday then called police and told them he found her dead on the living room floor. he plead not guilty to the murder charge. frustration mounting afterth university of cincinnati police officer ray tensing. >> demand a retrial. demand a retrial. >> he's accused of fatally shooting sam debose during a traffic stop last year. the jury could not come to a unanimous decision after several days of deliberations. the prosecutor will decide whether to retry the case sometime after thanksgiving . >> tia: president barack obama is in greece on the first stop

leader. >> brian: president-elect donald trump is meeting with his running mate and top advisers to discuss more high-level positions. trump was criticized by democrats and republicans for choosing steve bannon as his chief strategist and senior counselor. craig boswell has more. >> i'll be meeting with a lot of people. arrived at trump tower where president-elect donald trump and vice president-elect mike pence are meeting later today to discuss cabinet positions. among those being discussed for secretary of state, former new york city mayor rudy giuliani and former u.s. ambassador to the united nations jon boltoon. steve minunchen was recommended as treasury secretary. giuliani, a former prosecutor,

has limited foreign policy experience. trump official are also asking about his three adult children. they could getting a isest to america's top secrets but they are also expected to continue running trump's businesses. that could be a problem for trump who criticized hillary clinton's ties to the clinton charitable foundation as pay for play during the campaign. >> if they want to drain the swamp, the relationship with the family and the business would be very open and above board or the very high if president trump wants to keep faith with the promises he made and all the criticism he leveled during the campaign. >> trump has nine weeks to fill thousands of administration positions before taking the oath of office. >> brian: a columbus man arrested for tackling an antitrump protester at the student union at the ohio state university. students caught the incident from a couple of angles.

stanton as the man who tackle the protester. if you look at the video shot from above, it appears the protester has no idea what's about to happen. students held the guy down until university police could take him away. stanton is charged with assault. >> tia: the university of dayton fliers used the former campaign jet of hillary clinton to its game against the men's basketball team when they were heading to tuscaloosa to play the university of alabama. the university said it had no idea the plane the team would be using was the until the team arrived at the airport. it's the first time the fliers have used a politically branded plane. they have used jets from pro sports teams in the past. >> brian: interesting. coming up on cleveland 19 news, new research says binge drinking in your teenage years could cause some problems for your kids. >> tia: plus, it's an app that could help diagnose autism in children as young as age 2. >> brian: also coming up, your chance to win a $100 gift

voluntarily recalled because of possible listeria contamination. the cookie dough products tested positive for the bacteria. it can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children. the elderly and others with weakened immune systems. and, mcdonald's is making it easier for fans of its beloved mcrib sandwich to find the mysterious item. mcdonald's is launching a mcrib finder app. it letsse restaurants are serving that and then share that info with your friends, brian. >> all right. researchers are developing an app to detect autism in kids as young as age two. university of buffalo undergrad created the app that tracks the kids' eye movements to see whether the child displays signs of being in the autism spectrum. turns out the eye-tracking patterns of kids in the spectrum rove all over the place while those of a child without a.s.d.

accuracy rate in children ranging in age from two to 10 and it only took 54 seconds to screen each kid. >> samantha: all right. thanks so much, brian. it is 17 after the top of the hour and i hope that your tuesday has been off to a great start weather wise. we have been just, you know, smooth sailing really since late last week and into the weekend. there. little more cloudiness out to the west of cleveland closer to toledo. but these clouds should not produce any rain. i think that we will stay dry for the rest of the afternoon. your forecast for this afternoon, a little change. we have actually bumped up the numbers. so, it's probably going to be a little bit warmer than we thought this morning. upper 50s, but now we have moved up to 60 by 1:00. it's already 59 in cleveland. how about 63 at 3:00 falling

5:00. just a mix of sun and clouds and no rain for the afternoon or for the evening. any plans that you have after-school practices for the kids, the weather for it all looks fantastic. and tonight's forecast looks pretty nice, too. the cavs play tonight. so, if you are going to be downtown, let's say you park really far away from the q., you have to walk, maybe you are going to be walking around grabbing a bite to eat, do not even bother taking the umbrella. you won't need it. but you mightee i think by 11:00 we will drop into the upper 40s with partly to mostly cloudy skies. tomorrow, you could pretty much repeat today's forecast although i do think we could see a few sprinkles in the morning, little more cloudiness through the day tomorrow. no measurable rain, but again, a few sprinkles on the windshield can't be ruled out during that early morning commute. we get back into the upper 50s tomorrow. so, clouds might keep us just a little bit cooler. but, the warm-up starts on

64 on that second-to-last day of the workweek. by friday, we are near 70. and the record actually set last year is 71. so, i'll be interested to see whether or not we get close to that. i have a feeling, i'm looking at jeff over my shoulder, and i'm thinking that he might bump that number up just a little bit. we'll have to keep a close eye on it. the weekend is also something we are keeping a close eye on. notice, i issued two weather alert days here both saturday and sunday. big changes for forecast and, this is what it looks like. so, it's going to be a slightly wintry weekend. we will start with precipitation chances. rain starting on saturday. that's probably going to change over to a mix of rain and snow late saturday. maybe all snow the farther inland and east that you go. and that mix of rain and snow or all snow possible through saturday night and into your

morning and perhaps more impactful even than the snow is going to be how it feels outside. it's going to be cold. temperatures only topping out in the low 40s this weekend. it's going to be windy. there may be some wind-chills out there, guys, in the teens. so, just get ready for a cold weekend. especially on sunday. >> brian: sounds great, sam. >> samantha: thank you. no golf game this public square opens on saturday. so the weather will be ready for that. >> it opens the 19th. >> wonder how they keep it frozen? >> samantha: it will be well above freezing but there will also be some rain saturday. we will see how it changes out. >> tia: i want to go. >> brian: well, go ahead. >> samantha: i think you have until like february. i mean go this weekend. >> tia: i want to go opening day. it's the kid in me. >> brian: first one on ice. all right. 12:20.

bit of both. >> turntable sales are projected to hit $194 million in 2016. up from just $19 million 11 years ago. weisfeld recently doubled his staff to meet demand and major corporations are doing the same. panasonic is resurrecting its legendary techniques record player after taking it off the shelfs in 2010. do you see a time when sales will plateau or sort of the cool factor will go away and this will again? >> i wouldn't be surprised if it does, but, i don't think it will ever go away again like it did back in the early '90s with digital. >> and he's counting on people to keep spinning vinyl for generations to come. >> tia: that vinyl just has a different sound. amazon.com says turntable sales on the shopping site are up 30% over last year. >> brian: wow. all right. call now for your chance to win

[ laughter ] >> nick: uh, like, really? >> chelsea: that's pretty good. >> esther: ooh, it sounds like you two have been having a great time. >> chelsea: well, we just pulled off a harrowing escape, actually. >> nick: yeah, as we were leaving the ranch, we saw a horde of photographers on the road across from the guard house. >> esther: oh, those vultures. so how'd you get past them? >> chelsea: well, nick turned the headlights off and went to this back gate that led to a dirt road that only the local farmers know about. >> nick: we're just lucky it hasn't rained in awhile, otherwise we could have got stuck. but we made it to highway b, turned the lights on, and then cruised right past that esteemed grouping of members of the press. >> esther: [ chuckles ] well, i bet they just wanted to get a picture with this handsome little guy, right? oh, nick. what a miracle having your son with you again. >> nick: thanks. it really is. but right now we're here to celebrate, and hopefully with some cake.
