>> brian: good afternoon. there's good news today for victims of sexual assault. >> tia: it means we are one giant step closer to getting justice for them. cleveland 19's harry boomer has all >> harry: ohio attorney general mike dewine said when he took office in 2011, there were literally thousands of old rape kits at police departments all over the state. his office didn't know just how many there were meaning there were many thousands of suspected rape victims waiting for justice. the state started dna testing the backlog of rape kits in october of 2012. now listen to this. there were 13,931 rape kits from 294 law enforcement agencies

in cuyahoga county alone, there were 4,996 kits from 40 police departments. >> we had something happen in the last several weeks that we found the one we were looking for. that was the last one of the rape kits. i am announcing today that we have completed the analysis of all the old rape kits that were in cuyahoga county. >> harry: cleveland had the lion's share of these rape 88%. in the county to date, there have been more than 2,000 matches of people in the system. attorney general dewine says some of those rape kits were almost 20 years old. asking questions and getting answers, harry boomer, cleveland 19. >> tia: all right, harry. i'm sure more developments will come out of that story. well, in terms of weather, we are heading for a roller coaster ride in the weather over the next few days. >> brian: no question about that. sam roberts in the first alert weather center with the very latest. hey, sam. >> samantha: hey, guys.

not too bad for this time of the year. we will talk about a major short-term warm-up and we will look ahead to the weekend coming up in a few minutes. back to you. >> tia: all right, sam. thank you. the antidonald trump protest moved into northeast ohio overnight. this one started in akron. more than 700 people rsvp ad on facebook. there weren't quite that many there but hundreds did show up to protest and it stayed very peaceful. they started their march in highland square and holding signs and others with flags. people also shared stories and concerns. >> if you come here and you try to rip off a job, if you come here and you try to kick a veteran, if you come here and you try to push an immigrant, if you come here and do any of that, understand that i am here as well and others do not like it. >> the group plans to support

>> brian: the trump transition team insists they are making progress following major changes. in the latest moves, vice president-elect mike pence ordered removal of all registered lobbyists. kenneth craig reports. >> what do you guys have planned? good day? >> reporter: president-elect donald trump's children and members of his transition team returned to trump tower this morning to fill key cabinet positions and craft an agenda. former goldman sachs partner steve front runner for treasury secretary. >> there's a lot of things to do. the economic priorities are clearly taxes, regulatory trade and infrastructure. >> reporter: from trump challenged reports that his team is in disarray tweeting this morning -- totally wrong on transition. it is going so smoothly. the tweet comes after vice president-elect mike pence removed all lobbyists from the team. >> he's putting together his team. it it's never easy to do. particularly when you are coming

>> brian: breaking news at noon, a prosecutor has announced a second-degree manslaughter charge against a minnesota police officer in the fatal shooting of filando castille. he was shot and killed in july during a traffic stop. the video recorded by his girlfriend went viral and it sparked worldwide protests. >> tia: a new study just found women with a history of migraines could be a much greater risk of having a stroke. a study of more than 900 women found they are more than twice as likely to suffer a stroke and have an 83% higher risk of any cardiovascular problems including heart attacks. and post menopausal women with a normal weight who repeatedly gain and shed pounds may be at a greater risk of heart disease.

so-called yo-yo dieting or weight cycling. they found those women had about 3.5 times greater risk for sudden cardiac death compared to women whose weight remained stable. >> brian: new study finds if there has been a significant rise in major depression among young people in the united states, that data indicates that the trend may be strongest in teenaged girls. researchers found that cases of major depression among all adolescents rose from about 9% in 2005 tou but, the biggest increase was among the group that already had the highest rates of depression -- teenaged girls. that jumped from about 13% to about 17% over the same time period. they say more research is needed to understand why depression is increasing fastest among teenaged girls. all right. with just over a week until black friday, amazon has just released its biggest deals for that day. the online retailer rolling out

it's 51 right now in cleveland. i'll go 53 at 1:00. 55 at 3:00. and then dropping to about 51 by 5:00 with minimal sunshine. i know. but, we got sunshine coming tomorrow. so it will be ok. tonight, we are mostly cloudy. temperatures around 50 at 7:00. falling into the mid 40s by 11:00. if you aren't loving this cooler day, you know, we started the workweek off kind of mild. we had a lot of 60s this week. we are back in the 60s mo temperature. 73 on friday. now, if that comes to fruition, that would be a record. the old record is 71. and it was actually set last year. so, we will see how close we can get. i did go above the forecast guidance for friday. so i think we will end up on the warmer side. this graphic does a nice illustration or a nice job of illustrating the drop into the weekend. 40s on saturday. 30s on sunday. kind of climbing back into the
