wallpapered with the missing persons poster of 16-year-old alexander mullins. less than 24 hours after police say they found his body. it was in this vacant home they say with a gunshot wound to the chest. they apparently got a phone call notifying them. the teen was last seen november 9th walking to the school just a few blocks from his home. as is this house where he was found. while the family isn't talking about it right now, family friends express their heartbreak. >> it's sad. i mean,ho 16-year-old boy's life for what reason? i mean, what did he do to deserve this? i was praying to god that he would be found. it's just like my 9-year-old son. it could have been my son. >> reporter: well, police say right now they have no suspects. they're not even saying whether or not they believe he was killed in this house altogether. the big question everyone is asking at this point, though, right now is why was he killed? on cleveland's east side,

charges have been dropped against the suspect indicted in the death of 5-month-old avia wakefield. devon holmes was arrested last year. he was picked up by u.s. marshals just a few blocks from where she was killed. she died while she was in the car with her mom an cleveland's east side. no word on why the charges against holmes were dropped. at least four police officers were shot in a wave of unrelated attacks around the country over the they happened in santa bell, florida, st. louis, outside of kansas city. all of those suspects were killed or are in custody and the officers are expected to survive in san antonio, texas. the suspect who shot and killed the detective still at large. san antonio police chief says he thinks the man was looking to target the police officer.

target. >> mark: police release this video of a man being buzzed into police headquarters just hours after the attack. police think he's behind it. they're also searching for this black car that the suspect drove off in. there is a $25,000 reward for information. president-elect donald trump is in new york city today meeting with more potential candidates for his cabinet. trump hosted several contenders over the weekend in new jersey, including the 2012 republican nominee mitt romney. latest on the transition team from outside trump tower. >> reporter: the gold elevator doors at trump tower opened to a steady stream of high profile candidates being considered for president-elect donald trump's administration. among them, former massachusetts senator and army national guard member scott brown, a potential choice for secretary of veterans affairs. >> he's obviously going to take my application or interest under consideration.

and he's going to obviously meet other folks and we should know, i would think, probably after thanksgiving. >> reporter: republican oklahoma governor mary fallon also met with president-elect trump. >> we just asked a wide range of issue and his plan and agenda for america and how i might be able to help. >> reporter: mr. trump is also considering former texas governor rick perry for the same position. over the weekend, mr. trump hosted other high profile repuan in new jersey. he met with new jersey governor chris christie and mitt romney, a contender for secretary of state. the president-elect also met are anchors and executives from major media outlets. tomorrow he'll head to his estate in florida for the thanksgiving holiday. the transition team has about 4,000 federal jobs to fill before inauguration day. mr. trump will take the oeath o

well, we got our first little taste of winter here this weekend and the first major snowstorm of the season has dumped more than a foot of snow across parts of the northeast. a lot of it is lake-effect. several areas are digging out from several inches. high winds and heavy snow whipped across western new york sunday night. watertown, new york, was blanketed during the day with more than a half foot of snow. it was a chilly contrast from the day before when the town was basking in a record high degrees. the massive shift in weather was caused by the first significant lake-effect snow of the season that dropped more than a foot in the region. the storm slammed michigan as it moved east across the mid-section of the u.s. by early monday morning, bingington, new york, had received about 15 inches of snow and batavia, east of buffalo, was covered. >> i'm not ready for it. it's too soon. not ready for it at all. i heard we're going to get more.

yes. i talked to my sister who lived in rochester. and, yes, they got over a foot of snow. we missed out on the heaviest of the accumulation, although northwest pennsylvania we had some amounts up to a foot there. south and east of erie. now it's all about the cold. it is still windy out there. we are seeing some breaks in the cloud cover. at least outside of the primary snow belt. 5:00, 37. 6:00, still windy. 35. and 7:00, partly cloudy and 33. for the most part, over for us. 33 akron-canton currently. you got a west wind at 20 and downtown cleveland 37. but as we all know with that wind, that's only half the story. wind chills in the 20s. the lower wind chills east. 24 is how it feels in ashtabula. 23 in warren and 22 in the canton area. the wind will slowly diminish, though, tonight.

of cleveland. and i think it will still be a gradual clearing trend the next few hours. future view temps 7:00 a.m. i think some inland sections you could be colder than what the model is forecasting here just because you do have some snow on the ground akron-canton area. and with that light wind, you could drop fast tonight. 10:00 in the morning tomorrow, though, we'll start to warm through the 30s. and only around 40 tomorrow for the here are the future view model for the next system. and here it is moving in on wednesday. this particular model doesn't have the moisture coming in until the afternoon. but i do have an alert on wednesday. could start out as a little winter mix and then over to rain. and right now the timing of this will be after 10:00 a.m. could slow down wyour wednesday afternoon drive a little bit. as we all know, that's huge
