and faculty took their objections over a new president to regents wednesday. elias: the backlash from students and faculty continues over the choice of bruce harreld by the iowa board of regents to be the school's next president.. during the board's meeting yesterday, the group protested with signs and chanting. transparency has been a sticking point...one group, "iowans defending our universities" has accused the regents of conducting an illegitimate search that produced an illegitimate president. identifying a burglary suspect.. sabrina: they believe the suspect has something to do with multiple vehicle burglaries that have happened in the city. surveillance video shows th suspect in a red checy silverado truck, license plate b-s-f-2-7-7.. they believe he has been using stolen credit cards across the metro...anyone with information should contact the pleasant hill police department. sabrina: meanwhile, some iowa police officers will be trading in their citation books for order pads today... sabrina: officers will take part in a tip-a-cop event, where they collect tips and help serve at red robin restaurants...wit h the proceeds benefitting special olympics iowa, from four to eight this evening, officers will be working at restaurants in cedar rapids, davenport, sioux city, and the metro location in west des moines. the tip-a-cop event first began in 2005 and has helped raise close to five million dollars for the law enforecement torch run and its support of special olympics. elias: we're back with meterologist sam schreier... sam:
