sam if you were looking for warm weather in my forecast today, keep looking. we have more harsh, cold weather in the forecast for today, and to be honest it's still going to be a couple more days till anything gets better! this afternoon we'll see more sun which will do a better job of pushing highs to 51, but the winds will stay strong and wind chills are going to be cold like yesterday. overnight tonight we'll get clear skies back across the skies with much less wind and lows falling in to the mid to low 30s. friday is going to be kind of awful as well with temps in the mid 50s and a gloomy second half of the day with clouds building back into iowa. we have a rain chance late friday night (probably after 10pm for the metro) through saturday morning, but i think tailgaters for the isu and iowa games will be in luck since the rain should be gone fairly early in the morning. sunday is the start of a brief warming trend that should get us into the 70s by monday and last into next wednesday, so there is some light at the end of the tunnel! elias: also coming up on local five news midday.... a new speaker for our nation's capital, wisconsin congressman paul ryan. elias: star soccer forward abby wambach ends her 15-year career today-- elias: and two iowa hair-braiders try to make a living, while under fire for not having the necessary while under fire for not having the necessary licenses.
