elias: let's get into the top five this morning.... elias: a fight outside a des moines nightclub turned deadly over the weekend... polk county deputies responded to a call outside of evolution nightclub early sunday morning. they found 20 year old dashwan smith had been shot and three others injured. smith died at the hospital. police have not made any arrests in the case. sabrina: in the number two spot this morning... sabrina: police make arrests in two other homicides from the weekend... in waukee, officers found 41-year-old gino risola shot multiple times at a home on southeast carefree lane. police arrested 42-year old brendan mcguinness and charged him with first degree murder. this is waukee's first homicide in nearly 40 years. sabrina: and a teen has been arrested for a murder in des moines. police found 28 year old jose lopez shot inside a home friday night. the investigation lead to the arrest of 17 year old josue socop. elias: the third thing you need to know before you walk out the door...

social media with their theories. the coast guard says the light came from a naval test fire off the coast . sabrina: new this morning....hundr eds of people in the gladbrook- reinbeck area are calling on the school district to disband sabrina: a tight budget and declining enrollment have helped the movement gain more support... the waterloo- cedar falls courier reports more than 700 people have signed a petition in support of dissolving and dividing students between neighboring districts. a referendum will have to be put to a vote, since at least 20-percent of the district's voters signed the petition. the school district has already closed a school building in gladbrook, moving all students to two schools in reinbeck this fall. elias: it's been a big year for construction in des moines, with more still possible. elias: the 586 million dollars in construction costs through the end of october has

winds. we will be very cold friday and it looks like this saturday is going to be our first hard freeze with lows dropping near 30. sabrina: our top story...a fight outside a des moines nightclub turns deadly early sunday morning. sabrina: polk county deputies were called to evolution nightclub on northwest 6th drive. when they arrived, they heard shots fired and found 20 year old dashwan smith of des moines. he was transported to a local hospital where he later died of his injuries. three others were shot and injured in the incident. police have not made any arrests in the case. " sgt. brandon bracelin, polk county sheriff's department: "i think the main thing were a number of scene, however very forward and were they've seen." sabrina: looking for the public's help to solve the case. anyone with information is asked to call the sheriff's polk county crimestoppers. elias:

metro authorities have made arrests in two other weekend homicides... in waukee, 42- year old brendan mcguinness has been charged with first degree murder in the death of 41-year-old gino risola. risola was found at a home on southeast carefree lane...police say he had suffered multiple gun shot wounds. he later died at the hospital. this lead to a search for mcguinness....wh o was found on the east side of des moines. this is waukee's first homicide in nearly 40 years. elias: and in des moines, 17 year old josue socop faces a first degree murder charge in the friday night shooting death of 28 year old jose lopez.. lopez was found near the intersection of 13th street and jefferson avenue. socop was arrested saturday.. this case is the 14th homicide in des moines this year.... sabrina: drivers heading through western polk county should be on their best behavior today.. sabrina: iowa law enforcement officers plan to

hunger brought local organizations and churches together sunday hundreds of people gathered from different backgrounds for the "vote to end hunger rally" at grand view university. that's where they learned how to engage presidential make hunger a priority issue. the event speakers iowa food bank association, elected state more. sabrina: wednesday is veterans day...a time to honor the men and women who have protected our country to great extents...even giving life and limb. elias: and today, some groups will begin the honors early... first up..a my v-a town hall comes first up..a my v-a town hall comes to des moines.. this collaborative town hall meeting for veterans, their families, and the public will be hosted by the v-a central iowa health care system. local veterans will have the chance to share their stories during the public town hall that begins at two this afternoon. the meeting will be held at the va central iowa health care system medical center on 30th street. a claims clinic will also be held beginning at noon. sabrina: the annual gold star hall ceremony will be held at iowa state university's memorial union today. three former i- s-u students who died during the vietnam war will be remembered through personal stories and photos this afternoon. their names have already been added to the university's memorial wall, but have not been
