reaching around 2 inches in some places. here in central iowa our rain is going to come in waves, because we like southern and eastern iowa have a much better chance for severe weather. from the late morning through the afternoon, storms are expected to form in central iowa and rocket east across the state. these storms will be capable of producing heavy rain, damaging winds and some hail. there is also a tornado threat in that same time period across central and southern iowa, and any tornadoes that form will likely be very fast moving and strong. when the storms and rain pass this evening we are going to see extremely strong winds push through the state between 20 and 40 mph with wind gusts approaching 50 mph. thursday and friday are both going to be very cold and windy, but there is good news as the weekend warms back up into the 60s! elias: let's get into the top five this morning.... elias: the calhoun county sheriff's office has

called in help from state criminal agents after they found a man shot dead in pomeroy. the crime scene is at the 200 block of second street. police were called there around 2 am tuesday morning. the identity and age of the man hasn't been released. sabrina: in the number two spot this morning... sabrina: since opening in april, polk county deputies have been called to the evolution nightclub nearly 70 different times for incidents including fights, threats and weapons. sunday morning one person was shot and killed outside of the cly, which is located in the middle of a neighborhood. the polk county board of supervisors says they've gotten half a dozen complaints from neighbors asking the county to revoke the nightclubs liquor license. elias: the third thing you need to know before you walk out the door... elias: a small business jet crashed into an akron, ohio apartment building tuesday killing at least two people on board the plane. authorities still trying to determine how many were aboard the plane, but say there were no survivors. the jet clipped a utility wire on the way down and burst into flames and disintegrated

increase in unintentional poisoning deaths... sabrina: since 2002, the state has seen nearly a 250- percent increase in such deaths...with many linked to prescription and illicit drug use. according to data from the university of iowa college of public health...just over two- thousand iowans died of unintended poisoning from 2002 to 2014. the majority were tied to drug use. officals say drug take-back programs and monitoring of prescription drug prescribing but may lead to of illicit drugs. elias: with the harvest look to smash the previous soybean production. association sees the record state and national crop as a chance to open doors to new marketing according to the u-s-d-a, this projected at bushels....25

death...so far, his identity has not been released. no arrest has been made, but investigators say they don't believe the public is in danger. they plan to release more details after an autopsy is complete. local five will continue to update this story as that information is made available. elias: polk county's latest homicide happened outside a nightclub that is right in the middle of a neighborhood. elias: neighbors say the loud noise and increasingly violent activity spilling into the streets is a huge concern. someone was shot and killed outside the evolution nightclub on northwest 6th drive early sunday morning. three other people were hurt, and neighrbors say this is not the first incident. the club has only been open since april... but polk county deputies have been called out there nearly 70 different times for incidents including fights, threats and weapons. neighbors want the club's liqour license revoked.

activity, they didn't want to show their identity on t.v. out of fear of retailation. it's absolutely going to get worse, it's gotten worse and worse as we go along here. we don't need the norority or violence elias: the polk county board of supervisors says they've also gotten half a dozen complaints from neighbors asking the county to revoke the nightclubs liquor license. but the county says that isn't as easy as it sounds... they say they need proof that the business itself violated laws... they're looking into that now. sabrina: small plane crash in ohio tops your national headlines this morning.,.. sabrina: officials say there are no survivors after a plane crashed into an apartment building in ohio tuesday. while authorities have confirmed at least two deaths, they are unsure exactly how many were aboard the plane that was on approach to land when it clipped a telephone line. officials say that no one was inside the residence and no one on the ground was injured. ten-passenger plane. at this time the passengers in the plane, it's unknown how many are in the plane at this time. we do know there are deaths in the plane, but we don't know how many, or who the passengers are."" sabrina: two f-a-a investigators are on the scene, and the n-t-s-b is en route to assist. elias: 106 of the 177 people arrested in a massive biker brawl back in may have been indicted. a texas grand jury returned the indictments on tuesday. nine bikers were killed and more than 20 injured in the shootout at the twin peaks sports bar in waco. the mclennan county grand jury accused the suspects of engaging in organized criminal activity, with the underlying offenses being murder and aggravated assault. sabrina: we're back with meterologist sam schreier... sam: (sam adlibs) sam:

local heroes toured memorials dedicated to their service, where fallen commerades were remembered as well.
