top five this morning.... elias: the calhoun county sheriff's office has called in help from state criminal agents after they found a man shot dead in pomeroy. the crime scene is at the 200 block of second street. police were called there around 2 am tuesday morning. the identity and age of the man hasn't been released. sabrina: in the number two spot this morning... sabrina: since opening in april, polk county deputies have been called to the evolution nightclub nearly 70 different times for incidents including fights, threats and weapons. sunday morning one person was shot and killed outside of the cly, which is located in the middle of a neighborhood. the polk county board of supervisors says they've gotten half a dozen complaints from neighbors asking the county to revoke the nightclubs liquor license. elias: the third thing you need to know before you walk out the door... elias: a small business jet crashed into an akron, ohio apartment

teams in the top ten. teams in the top ten. sabrina: new this morning...iowa has seen a major increase in morning...iowa has seen a major increase in unintentional poisoning deaths... sabrina: since 2002, the state has seen nearly a 250- percent increase in such deaths...with many linked to prescription and illicit drug use. according to data from the university of iowa college of public health...just over two- thousand iowans died of unintended poisoning from 2002 to 2014. the majority were tied to drug use. officals say drug take-back programs and increased monitoring of prescription drug prescribing practices could provide relief, but may lead to increased abuse of illicit drugs. elias: with the harvest winding down, iowa farmers look to smash the previous record for soybean the previous record for soybean production.

a man shot to death...so far, his identity has not been released. no arrest has been made, but investigators say they don't believe the public is in danger. they plan to release more details after an autopsy is complete. local five will continue to update this story as that information is made available. elias: polk county's latest homicide happened outside a nightclub that is right in the middle of a neighborhood. elias: neighbors say the loud noise and increasingly violent activity spilling into the streets is a huge concern. someone was shot and killed outside the evolution nightclub on northwest 6th drive early sunday morning. three other people were hurt, and neighrbors say this is not the first incident. the club has only been open since april... but polk county deputies have been called out there nearly 70 different times for incidents including fights, threats and weapons. neighbors want the club's liqour license revoked.
