a worldwide manhunt is underway for belgian-born french national salah abdeslam, who is suspected of being involved in the attacks. elias: in the number two spotothis morning... elias: two people died in a fatal car crash sunday night... des moines police say the accident happened at the intersection of hubbell avenue and 37th street just after six last night. two vehicles were involved....one was heading west, the other was turning into a quick trip when they collided... sabrina: the third thing you need to know before you walk out the door... sabrina: online sports leagues fan duel and draft kings both filed lawsuits against the state of new york this weekend after the attorney general ruled it was illegal to play the games there. the two sites maintain that daily fantasy is a skill game, not chance. playing for money on draft kings and fan duel is already deemed an illegal form of gambling in iowa, but the lawsuit could mean a change for iowans. elias:

elias: university president steven leath issues a statement last president steven leath issues a statement last night that a statue of george washington carver had been vandalized friday night. i-s-u police say the statue, which sits outside of carver hall, appeared to be covered with shaving cream. the statues is a tribute to the school's first african american student in 1891 who went on to become a world-renowned agriculturalist. the vandalism happened between one and four p-m friday. university police are conducting an investigation, including if the incident was an investigation, including if the incident was racially motivated. anyone who may have information is asked to call i-s-u police. sabrina: the iowa supreme court travels to west des moines today.. sabrina: the state's highest court is bringing its proceedings to a local high school. this evening proceedings in the case of iowa versus donald benjamin earl reed will be held inside the the staplin performing arts center at valley high school. the oral arguments are open to the public and will begin at seven tonight.

a reception sponsored by the polk county bar association will follow the proceedings. elias: the discussion on the bakken oil pipeline project continues today with an evidentiary hearing... elias: more than 200 people spoke during thursday's public hearing on the pipeline at the boone county fairgrounds... hundreds traveled from across the country to be part of the debate on the pipeline that would carry oil from the dakotas to illinois...cutting the hawkeye state in half. the room was packed with people-- some there to speak, some just to listen. representatives of both sides of the debate had their chance to speak before the iowa utilities board. elias: the decision is now in the hands of the board...which consists of these three people... thursday was the only day that the public could comment on the issue directly to them. today, they plan to hold an evidentiary hearing. after that, the three member board can have a meeting to discuss their decision or they can just send out a written notice. there is no det

bondurant is rallying behind a deputy chief that's battling cancer. hundreds of people stopped by the bondurant american legion saturday night for a benefit to help out chris poulson. poulson has had three forms of cancer in the last three years, and the spaghetti dinner was done to help his family with his medical bills. even in the face of the toughest battle of his life, poulson is still inspiring those he works with. capt. chris sickels, bondurant fire department: "he's fighting as hard as he can and he still wants to keep going on calls and stuff. he's missing it, really bad. " sabrina: poulson has had eight surgeries and has been shuffling back

"there is so much at stake in this election the attacks in paris as i said last night at the debate are a sobering reminder of the challenges and the threats that we face and the importance of american leadership the hard truth of our time we need to own is this 70 percent of us are earning the same or today than we were 12 years ago that is not the way our

"(sen. bernie sanders/(d) presidential candidate) i think we have to bring countries throughout the world together and say we have a common enemy here, an enemy that is doing barbaric things and this is an enemy that have got to be defeated, and my view is that people have got to get boots on the ground.. sabrina: gop presidential candidate ben carson is holding a last- minute press conference in nevada later this morning. carson's campaign sent out an email late last night and did not give out the subejct of the press conference. it will be at a resort in nevada at 9-10 pacific time, which is 11- 10 our time. carson has recently been on the defensive from donald trump after trump ranted about carson's book while campaigning in iowa last week. sabrina: republican presidential candidate george pataki wants nbc to give him the same amount of airtime the network gave donald trump on saturday night live. under f-c-c rules, all g-o-p candidates are entitled to the twelve minutes and five seconds of airtime trump was given as host of s-n-l. pataki does not have to be on s- n-l.... but the network does have to provide him with comparable time and a comparable platform. other candidates have until the end of today to file their requests as well. sabrina: and congressman steve king is making a major announcement later this morning in des moines. king will hold a
