wachanic will be processed at the polk county jail. elias: in the number two spot this morning... elias: local five sat down with the brother of heather belieu, one of the victims in that double homicide. belieu's brother ryan told us he met michael wanchanic last week when he came to the same house where the double homicide happened. ryan told us wanchanic seemed quiet and didn't stay long. his family can't understand what happened or why. sabrina: the third thing you need to know before you walk out the door... sabrina: angry protests in chicago over the killing of a black teenager by a white police officer. the incident has the illinois attorney general asking the federal government to investigate the chicago police department. the city's mayor, rahm emanuel called for the resignation of chicago's police superintendent. elias: number four... elias: elias: less than a month until iowa's new medicaid privatization plan rolls out, and questions still remain over

changes for child serve...which helps 3-thousand families every year. many parents are asking questions, and child serve is doing the best they can to answer them. sabrina: and finally in the top five... sabrina: the iowa hawkeyes will take the field saturday in the big ten championship while being lead by the big ten's coach of the year. head coach kirk ferentz swept both the coaches and media vote to earn the honors. the game will also determine if iowa or michigan state makes it into the college football playoffs. elias: the former casey city clerk accused of mai l fraud and arson spent tuesday in accused of mail fraud and arson spent tuesday in the courtroom.. dorothy dillinger has been accused of burning down city hall to cover years of fraud while city clerk. she entered a not guilty plea during the arraignment yesterday, and her trial will begin on february first. dillinger faces federal charges that she used city funds for

" " a standoff lasting more than four hours here on highway 141 ends the hunt for a person of interested wanted in monday's double homicide in des moines. -- state troopers were diverting traffic tuesday night in bouton while law enforcement were negotiating with a man in a standoff down the road. (very big relief we had about 30 officers on scene) officials got a tip about michael wanchanic being at a caseys in woodward -- once police responded -- a chase ensued. that's when he ran out of luck -- the van died, trapping him on 141. the dallas county sheriff's office says he was alone and had a handgun -- never pointing it at officers, but himself -- threatening suicide. less than a month until iowa rolls out it's new medicaid plan. as it stands right now, 4 out-of-state companies will be taking it over, but there are some major concerns. . the medicaid change means big changes for child serve. it's an agency that helps children with special health care needs. they help 3- thousand families every year, about 75 percent of the families use medicaid to help pay for services. many parents are asking questions, and child serve is doing the best they can to answer them. lloyd 20:54:56 everybody wants to know what's happening, some of those questions we don't know what the answers are going to be yet. elias: three major concerns with the change from medicaid include concerns with the change from medicaid include that january 1 implementation date... also, an
