holding up candles as they announced the names of each victim. we're getting new images of the shooters' final moments. [ gunfire ] >> get inside, get inside. close the gate, close the gate. >> that is cell phone video of the newlyweds embroiled in that wild, high-speed chase. and shootout with police. here's a look at the bullet holes in a deputy's car. we should tell you the officers all survived. the couple did not. despite being armed with thousands of rounds. lauren lyster has the latest from san bernardino. lauren, good morning. >> reporter: good mornrning, kendis and reena. we're learning more about the victims of the deadly mass shooting and more about the two suspects killed in a shootout with police. authorities are still trying to find a motive. trying to figure out what would drive a young couple with an infant to allegedly carry out this attack? the sights and sounds of grieving odisplay in this

grappling with the loss of 14 lives. as we learn more about the suspects, who abruptly took them in wednesday's shooting rampage. >> they were equipped. they could have continued to do another attack. >> reporter: 12 unexploded bombs described as similar to this one featured in an al qaeda blication found in the young couple's home. along with thousands of rounds of ammunition. one neighbor said his wife had bebecome susous. >> she had noticed they had been i guess receiving packages. quite a few packages within a short amount of time. and that they were actually doing a lot of work out in the garage. >> reporter: the fbi is now treating the investigation of syed farook and his pakistani-i-born wif tashfeen malik as a potential case of terrorism. unsputed is the tragedy facing the families of those killed. their names all confirmed by the medical examiner. ryan rays lost his partner,

>> the world will suffer from having one less person like him. >> reporter: michael wetzel's family is dealing with the loss of a father, husband, and >> they're overwhelmed. six kids have lolost theirather. >> reporter: jennifer thalasinos now clings to her last embrace with husband nicholas. >> i got an extra hug and a kiss before he left. so i'm just holding on to that. >> reporter: now, as for the investigation, authorities tell abc news they're looking for connections between farook and at least two individuals here in the u.s. who may have been involved in radicalizing him or planning the attack. but again. the fbi says it's too early to call this an act of terrorism. kendis and reena? >> lauren, do we know, beforehand, was farook on any of the authorities' radar at all? >> reporter: so as of the latest news that i have seen from abc, they were not. investigators, according to them, say that the suspect farook was not on the radar or under investigation by authorities prior to this s

>> okay. lauren lyster, live in san bernardino. thank you for that report. and those who made it out alive are recalling the horror. including a co-worker who shared a cubicle with the gunman for years. >> yeah, we're talking about patrick bacari. he had been sitting at the same table as farook but noticed he wasn't there when they took the annual holiday photo. bacari was in the men's aps'sestroom as the shots rang out. he took cover as blast of shrapnel shot through the paper towel holder and hit him in the face. >> so i announced to the other people in the restroom. we're under attack. get on the floor. the one beside me, i told him to get down on the floor. we put our feet against the door to inhibit anybody from entering the restroom. >> bacari and farook were both environmental inspectors for the county health department. he said he considered him a friend. and that shooting rampage hit home for an nfl player.

>> new york giants safet nat beberhe tweeted, i just got word that one of my coins was among the 14 kled yesterday. i'm so sick right now. he identified his cousin as isaac amanios, the oldest of the victims at 60. he was a survisor at the county health departmement. >> so many people feeling the impact of this. stay with abc news for the very latest on the shoot lg. later on, a live report from washington, d.c. we'll get the reaction from the presidential candidates. exactly three weeks after the paris terror attacks, the cafe that was targeted has now been reopened. it was back in business this morning. five people were killed there during last month's attacks. since then, the cafe had become a memorial. piled high with flowers and candles. an onlooker summed up the mood saying, it's time to continue life as it was before. well, the u.s. marines are now lookining for a w g od women. so is the army, navy, and air force. defense secretary ash carter ordering the services to open all military jobs to women. including combat roles.

being fired. a virgin america flight trying to leave seattle delayed after a baggage loading machine caught fire just under the wing of the jet. fire crews put it out quickly. no injuries or damage reported. the flight took off as scheduled. it's unclear how that fire started. colorado springs today urns a hero of another armed attack. university police officer garrett swasey and two others were killed in the shooting at the planned parenthood clinic one week ago. the governor, mayor, and other leaders will attend the funeral following a procession through the city. u.s. prosecutors have unsealed a second indictment against world soccer officials. that indictment came as fbi

legislation that would apply background checks to purchase at gun shows and online >> the motion is not agreed to. >> reporter: and by an even greater margin, the senate voted down an amendment that would keep anyone on the fbi's terror watch list from walking into a store and purchasing guns. >> just because it's not an easy problem m to solveoesn't mean we should not do everything that we can. >> i think the left often pivots to gun laws. it's never been shown that these gun laws are effective. >> reporter: republican front runner dald trump is not shy talking about his post-shooting bump in the polls. >> every single time there's a tragedy, my poll numbers go up. because they feel that i am going to take care of them. they feel they want strength. >> reporter: trump making it clear he believes the shooting is likely nnected to terrorism. >> is this radical islamic terrorism? tell me. is it? you tell me. it looks like it to me.

you lock at what's happened. you tell me. >> reporter: a white house official tells abc news that the obama administstration i considering possible execuve action to tighten gun laws. reena? kendis? >> and that controversy will continue. megan hughes, live in washington. thank you. tributes being poste online this morning for rock singer scott weiland. the former lead singer of the stone temple pilots. one of the most successful bands of the '90s. weiland had a long history of substance abuse. he died in his sleep. and was found last nightht in minnesota shortly before a show was scheduled to start. scott weiland was just 48 years old. moving now to a shocking case of road rage that's left a miami man with a bullet in his chest. and it was all cght on camera. the driver gets out of his car and approaches a mercedes at the stoplight. when the light turns green. look at all this. you can see the mercedes driver pointing hisun and shooting the other man in the chest. the bullet barely missed his lungs.
