monday morning. the intersection where the i-s-u freshman was hit by a car has become a memorial. intvestigators have narrowed down the time to between 7:04 and 7:05 am and say based on her injuries, the driver had to feel the impact. sabrina: in the number two spot this morning... sabrina: a car versus pedestrian accident leaves a man dead in des moines last night. police say around 5-30 tuesday evening, a man crossing hubbell avenue was hit and then pronounced dead on the scene. authorities are still trying to determine what the man was doing or where he was heading as the accident remains under investigation. elias: the third thing you need to know before you walk out the door... elias: we are learning more about the two people whose bodies were found in rural union county. the criminal complaints accuse jerry dillinger of shooting and killing loretta dillinger and the other person in september. their bodies were not found until earlier this month. friends say loretta and jerry had an abusive relationship, and she may have been seeing someone new

when the shooting happened. sabrina: number four... sabrina: good news for those still enroll or adjust insurance healthcare dot gov website.. the deadline to get that coverage started on january first has been extended through thursday. consumer demand pushed officials into extending the chance to get coverage locked in with the start of the new year. after thursday, coverage would begin on march first. elias: and finally in the top five... elias: the public is invited to comment on a permit needed for the proposed bakken pipeline. iowa's department of natural resources will hold a meeting this evening on a permit to allow the pipeline to cross water and land under the jurisdiction of the department. the meeting begins at 5 p-m in the wallace state office building. sabrina: turning to the big political story this morning....the republican presidential candidates held their final face- off in 20-15 last night. elias:

county emergency management closed a section of highway 169 just north of adel last night. drivers should expect a detour taking them west out of town on highway six. the detour then heads north on p-58, before connecting to highway 44 and back to highway 169. so be sure to watch for the signs this morning. elias: speaking of road closures, flooding has kept parts of some roads around the metro closed. des moines shut down a section of fleur drive from bell avenue to m-l-k because of the raccoon river level. it remains at the moderate flood stage this morning, but is expected to go down through the rest of the week. sabrina at ((time check)) we'll take a

two bodies found in rural union county. sabrina: the bodies discovered earlier this month, one in a pond, the other near a house...but both were dead for months before being found. according to court documents, jerry dillinger shot and killed loretta dillinger and the other person, on september 22nd. agents say jerry got into a confrontation got into a confrontation with the two, killed them and disposed of their bodies. friends of loretta say her and jerry dated off and on and were in an abusive relationship. they said she may have been seeing someone new when the shooting happened. "ihe was a controlling monster and was abusive" sabrina: jerry dillinger is being held in the

being held in the union county jail on two counts of first degree murder. the identity of the second body has not been released. elias: here in the metro, one person is dead after being hit by a car while trying to cross hubbell avenue. it happened around 5-30 tuesday evening...at east 42nd and hubbell avenue. des moines police say the pedestrian was crossing hubbell when a car hit the man. the victim was pronounced dead on scene. police say they had to shut down the area for several hours to gather more evidence, and the crash is still under investigation. sabrina: in ames, police continue to piece together monday's hit and run that left an i-s-u student dead. 18 year old emmalee jacobs of urbana was died at the hospital after being hit by a car on the i-s-u campus. she was found lying in the road at the intersection of ash avenue and lincoln way. the site has now become a memorial for

jacobs with candles and messages written with chalk. police still looking for the person responsible. "we believe th person felt the impact, knew what happened, based on her injuries. they were significant enough they had to feel the impact." sabrina: ames police have narrowed down the time window of the hit and run to between 7:04 and 7:05 am monday they ask anyone who may have information to come forward. elias:: over in the center point- urbana area, the community mourns the loss of the teen, who had just graduated high school in may. her family and friends describing jacobs as a very bright, very smart young woman. sabrina: brea love spoke with those who knew her, and shares how the brea love spoke with those who knew her, and shares how the community is coping with the tragic loss. trending now... flooding from rain over the weekend has canceled this year's jolly holiday lights display at waterworks park, but one local group isn't allowing the largest fundraiser for make a wish iowa to go dark. the iowa clinic is challenging the community to show their spirit for the "bring the jolly campaign" by posting a photo campaign" by posting a photo on the clinic's facebook of how you get into the holiday spirit, and challenge others to do the same - all while spreading the word to donate to make a wish iowa. this year's goal is to raise 200
