"it's nice to have the recognition of the accomplishments of last year's team but that's a credit to the two seniors who left anna kollmorgan and ellie cavanaugh. and it's also a credit to our returners. if it were something in march it would mean a lot more than right now." still the warriors are ranked number one in 5-a. they'll get every team's best effort every night but the only expectations that matter come from within this waukee team. "i think the only pressure we have is the pressure we have on ourselves. anything from the outside can't be any more than what we're putting on ourselves to be successful and trying to get better everyday." "we want to keep that title, and keep the number one in the state but we can't
10:23 pm
really pay attention to that." you'd think a team with such high standards would be on point-- and focused day in and day out. not the case for waukee-- who take an occassional juggle break, or dance session. it's all part of enjoying this experience-- and it pays off on the court. "like you saw we like to have a lot of fun and so we have that team chemistry and that really helps because if one girl is getting down we all pick her up we all know we're going to deliver for our teammates because we want to do good for our teammates because we have that good chemistry." "we are and we also have fun but we also get serious at times and we get what we need done." this waukee team may be having plenty of fun now-- but the most fun comes with another 5-a title at the end of the season. "we're really thankful and honored to have that recognition but we know that we have a lot of work to do and march is important." number one
